Interesting! I've crisscrossed Nigeria as a kid and as an adult. People show me love everywhere I go. Growing up, my parents, as Yoruba, never for once told me not to play with kids from other tribes, they never said, this is is Ibo, this one is Hasan. No, they saw people as they were, people.

During my secondary school days in Ilesa an Igbo boy was the head prefect. He was actually favoured.

If you understand the mindset of the Ijesas you wouldn't be surprised with this. Often times, they go against their own so far the alternative is able.

Until we embrace unity,the hausa-fulani ruling dynasty will never end,an igbo man will never vote for a yoruba man and vice versa! yet the north always speak with one voice,you all just gonna shout on social media while Bubu will be sworn in by 2019 because the north won't disown their own! mind you the north also comprises of many tribes and ethnic groups but are more united politically,Taraba,Nasarawa,Kaduna,Plateau,Abuja Are not Hausa states but are all united politically,keep Shouting AFONJA and IPOB while the north will keep ruling the nation,i see some already insulting each others grin grin grin

Born and raised in Ilesa, Osun State, Paulicap’s parents, Chief Okeke Chumba and Mrs. Janet Okeke-Chumba, are both from Ndeaboh, a community in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State. Okeke and his siblings attended elementary and secondary schools in Ilesa.

Here is why. It's not like they picked any odd igboman to make president. Igbo men born and raised in England are in the house of commons. One may even become PM one day.

Nigeria has to do away with "indigene clause". Place of birth and residence should be the key element. This way we can fight tribalism.

It would make a whole lot of sense if we shove tribalism aside and stay true to who we are angry

It is only Igbo that always complians about everything, you cannot see it at any other place.

It is only Igbo that cannot sell land to a non- indigene

It is only Igbo that cannot employ non-Igbo

It is only Igbo that will want to be Governor in a strange land and cannot allow you to be counsellor in their land.

Others can do it but Igbo cannot, yet they want to enjoy it

Yes, they can. If you can find or present a man with Yoruba lineage that was born and bred in Enugu for example, lived most of his life there and speaks Igbo fluently.

Yes, igbos can make him president of an Igbo association.

Quite commendable. This is why I have always been in favour of 'Place of Birth' over 'State of Origin'. You should be able to identify with where you were born and grew up over your parents or ancestors State of Origin.

Won't be surprised if Mr. Polycarp Okeke speaks the Ijesha dialect fluently.
