How many people exactly has 900k got 5million? How many activist don get money from government? How many retirees don die waiting for government after several protest and courts?
My friend, stop yarning trash.

If you're in Lagos State, you might have heard of the Igbo man that sued the state over environmental laws that caused him. Wasn't he paid?

My friend, I have a barrister as a family friend and the Nigerian police paid on a case his firm handled. I was at court when a young lawyer from his firm handled the case. It's my grandpa that insist I must follow him to court most times. That was some years back.

Brother I understand perfectly....

The embarrassing position he's putting crazy old Rochas should get him his money.
Sueing the statue building fool would get him more especially if he could prove he did a job and wasn't paid. Though this might take time as the adjournment of the case till maybe 3-6months might make the guy crazy but if he has a tough counsel behind him, he would settle out of court and get maybe NGN1m or more to add to the already defaulted payment.

Let's try and get our climate sane. This "had I wish it was saner" and doing nothing when you should have is just not helping.
Me wey get barrister as family friend, why I no dey find myself in troubles like this? I promise the company or government official hell in the court and make them pay
double.

Each time you do business with most of these big men, they'll want to take you for a ride. That's why you must document your transactions.

I even recorded my discussions when I went to ask diamond Bank for an MSME loan. Both voice and written.

If they happen to give me the loan and try to play magic with interests, you think I'll spare them? No way in hell would I do that.
While I agree with you completely, There is still one little snag..Our judiciary system is not blind most times, it can see and take sides with powerful people.

Man Alleges Imo State is Owing Him N900k Since 2007 (See Photos)
Posted by George on Mon 05th Oct, 2015 - tori.ng

My name is Mr. Orjika Emma C. K. In 2007, the Oguta LGA of Imo State awarded me a contract to supply books for primary schools. The total project amount was N1,050,000. I was given a down payment of N150,000 and I was owed N900,000.

Ever since then they have refused to pay me. I have tried everything possible to no avail. I reached out to a barrister who told me to first pay him 30% of the money before he would help him. I refused to pay because it was both unethical and unprofessional. Please help me.

See scanned copies of alleged contract documents:

I too believe he's owed. If such weren't true, he'll be looking for death or real prison time to start such allegations against a Goliath as crazy old Rochas.

But in the court of law, I've never been to court and see where what anybody believes to be true wins any case. There must be substance in any evidence provided. If he has it, with credible witnesses, I don't see why he would be contemplating suicide.

If he doesn't, then he has been stupid for working for any government man without written docs.
I Agree! but you will find that it is highly possible that he may not have a documented prove that he is owed due to his naivety and he probably believed that he will be paid After working for a heavy weight like Rochas, i mean, who wouldn't? even i would work for Rochas with the believe that he will pay as he rochas will have no reason not to pay, He is the Governor. No one would believe that they would be owed by A whole Governor.

I just hope he gets his money regardless if he can prove it or not.

Yes, they could but certainly not with the whole world watching and expressing their views on the matter.

Watch how the media is first alerted before you take them to court? That's the way it's done..

I recall when a police man arrested me cos I was driving late and accused me and my friends of being armed robbers. He should've just arrested me for DOD but no, he wanted more money from what we were offering.

I already recorded our voices and sent it to my sister with a message stating time and location and some of their names, asking her to forward them to barrister Ibezim in case anything happens to me. I always look at that when a police is misbehaving.

I didn't let them know until I was sure we were safe at the station. Com'an see panic. They had to escort us all the way from Area M to my friend's house very early the next morning still begging we should do nothing. I later deleted it all and offered them drinks and 1k for fuel. me and those officers are friends till tomorrow.

Most of these sensational lies and blackmail employed to discredit Okorocha differs completely from reality and can never be taken seriously by any wise man. Okorocha is not owing anybody and the pension arrears often talked about was accumulated from over 40 years ago and he reduced tge arrears but has not been able to clear same. Most people erroneously believe he accumulated them.

Very very! true! the problem with some nigerians is they do not know their rights, they have been bullied and intimidated so much by the Gorvernment they believe no one can sue the nigerian government and win, it can be a slow proccess but with the right lawyer (incorruptable) anyone can sue the nigerian government and get compensation running into millions paid to them.

Also nigerians don't bother to find out about their fundermental humans rights in nigeria.

When colonel Mohammed Marwa was governor of Lagos State. My father as a Volkswagen expert engineer had a contract to fix some various staff vehicles at naval barracks.

My dear Papa thought he had arrived. He postponed his going abroad for the job and even spent his own money fixing it all. Shey you know say if not for a towns man who's a senior naval officer, he wouldn't have been paid a dime?

The matter almost made my poor old man craze. My pocket money had to be reduced to NGN2 if I see 50kobo sometimes after I finish it sef turn to wahala.

I can't make that mistake brother. They're too big to fight except you have strong head and push them all the ways you can else they'll just exploit you and go free.

My uncle always call every government man a thief. They want everything free that's why they wouldn't want to pay after you finish working for them.

My friend, no lawyer is incorruptible. Not after what I've seen them do. Just have a lawyer that likes you so much as to want to help you get your rights.

Sophists, the whole lot of them. Only the relationship between you and your lawyer is important, nothing more. Plus if he wins the Goliath, it will add not only to his pocket but his prestige and competence as an attorney.

The young man I said got the Nigerian police to beg to settle out of court (I don't know the full case but it was between a police officer and a civilian) the guy is a big boy now and I believe that case too helped drive him high.

I don't know much about laws and lawyers but if they twist matter here, you go fear. If a lawyer tells you you can't win this case, just know he will lose it forget all your evidence, he's sold out.

This shows your thinking is that of a Primary school pupil.

How can someone that barely feeds his family take a Governor to court.
do you know how much it cost to institute a suite in the court of law.

Secondly your advice is that of a fool because a full thinking Nigerian with not advice a poor man to take a governor to court because even if he wins, the governor will not oblige to pay him.

Let me tell you this is the highest form of protest he can take. he's heard and if the Governor wants to pay him, he will because of the public awareness.

Okay. But do you know if I happen to be in trouble, I can get former Lagos State Police commissioner, a relative in a private chat on his private line? Though I barely use that link for in as much as rough as I could be, I don't get myself in troubles, infact, I avoid the avoidable.

Not only him. I'm sure I have people I could talk with if I'm cheated off my sweat. I would be paid no matter what if any government man tries to cheat me.

And I believe everyone else can be paid too if they go through the courts and with substantial proof. Any charge and bail lawyer could accept the case and fight for you if you strike a good deal in the case your rights as a citizen are respected ( that would now be the issue in court, u don't know what lawyers can do with the right motivation). Or you think the Ikoyi gate lawyer is being paid now?.

I'm already tired of discussing the matter. I'll only ask you to please demand vehemently that your rights be respected.
