Timothy Ifeanyi Ikeji wrote: This was the burial of Fulani victims of violent killings in Taraba state in November 2017, Nobody shed tears for their wives, children, mothers, elderly ones among them wickedly slaughtered in their sleep, Nobody was disappointed in Mr Presidents slow response, Nobody wrote long Epistles, Nobody was disappointed in Nigeria, No nobody lamented at the insecurity of lives and properties of their fellow country men and women,Nobody threatened War, Nobody pointed accusing fingers,Nobody wailed ceaselessly. Till date Nobody asked for investigations to unravel the cold blooded killers,Nigerians check your Conscience, even the Devil is ashamed at the height of your HYPOCRISY.

My take: I am not a fan of the herdsmen neither do I support their actions especially their readiness to kill at the slightest provocation. But we are all Nigerians and our lives matter. Lets be united. Stop politics for a moment and reflect on the way forward. No one should die carelessly and lets stand up against evil. Let's press on the government to be proactive and be seen as doing something serious about the many burning issues. Let's save lives. We are Nigerians.

Nigeria is a lawless nation. Human life means nothing. Our leaders don't really care. Security is at zero. If police, SAR, armed robbers are not after your life, herdsmen are. How did we get here?

This thread is going NOWHERE since it doesn't support the popular narrative that the violence is a one way traffic!

Even nairaland is guilty of this.

Oga, you just showing your stupidity openly, Whenever anyone kill from another camp, there will surely be a reprisal.
Government should only make sure they settled the issue with both camp by coming to good agreement with both farmers and herdsmen to afford loosing innocent life's. That's what Obiano did in Anambra that brought peace between farmers and herdsmen

Well this sad and unacceptable.....

But the angle you presented or defended this from is wrong.....an eye for an eye.....!

I strongly believe the IG should be sack or resign or the entire police force disbanded....an ordinary citizen can event predict the trend of criminal activities involving Fulani which should have been easily preempted and niped in the bud.... But our police and intelligence failed and failed woefully time and time again!

This picture is from the killings of about 30 people in Numan Adamawa last year and not Taraba.

Herdsmen violence against communities is a well documented occurrence and there has been hues and cries to the government to act and act quickly to no avail. After the killings in virtually all states of the Federation while the government did nothing, the locals have resorted to self help (Mambilla and Numan). That is where it gets dangerous

The complacency of government, impunity, and boldness of the Herdsmen in violence are perpetuating this cycle of violence.

There will be muted responses when the Herdsmen are at the receiving end of the violence because, quite unfortunately and untrue, some might feel they "deserve" the counter violence going by the years of Herdsmen impunity on others.

I wish only those with information or historical background of the Fulanis and host or farming communities will put out news. In the whole of these, does it mean the fulani's have not suffered any losses? Becouse I see pictures of them also massacred and people just flip through and pass. I know for sure both sides have criminal tendencies. Media jungle justice will not provide solution. The whole thing thus appear as if Fulani's are the only guilty party. Truth and reconciliation is the way to go. Let us analyse an count the whole losses, fulani has a significant loss to. That means both sides have mass murderes.
