Did LAWMA which was a very nice waste disposal system die with BRF?

For the past few months I've been in Lagos, I have not set my eyes on any of those trucks used in collecting waste in residential and commercial neighbourhoods. I believe that died with Fashola. Lagos has been it's dirtiest since this administration.

Remember these cart pushers not only serve as 'kayas', they also help dispose waste.

Unfortunately, Lagos state is not responsible for decades of failure in Nigeria and should not be carrying the burden for Nigeria and worthless state governors in other states.

When Lagos state because of the huge burden asked the FG for special status and help to deal with catering to and providing for 20 million people, it was voted down and trashed by the same people in other states and their reps who are actually responsible for the rot and migration to Lagos.

DIdn't the same people here on NL celebrated that Lagos was denied the special status and extra funding to help these people?

The hypocrisy and trying to have it both way syndrome in Nigeria is really appalling.

Lagos State has been working, but I disagree on this one. Those guys are of immense help to food stuff, fruits, etc vendors. Those claims are unfounded and should be well investigated for more clarity.
LASG, don't fail on this

The governor should try and provide jobs for those wheelbarrow pushers because some of them feed their families with it.
Unfortunately, they would careless of the aftermath as long as it doesn't affect them directly.

What a wicked plan! This is great suffering for people who will have to carry their load themselves. I pity the poor in Lagos. No Okada, No Barrow. Some of these governors have no human feelings cos it doesn't affect them

Laows is gradually becoming an elitist state, thanks to APC's anti poor policies.

That's exactly what every educated Nigerian should hope for,the earlier these things happen the better for us.

There are social safety nets for the poor abroad, so nobody needs to push wheel barrow to put food on the table or send their children to school.

The poor are a bloody menace to the larger society and it is about time we RESTRICT their child bearing behaviour.

Poor bastards want to have sex and litter the place with unkempt dirty children.

Many of them have already been excluded by their own governors in their own states hence venturing into Lagos for survival.

Let other states, SE/North in particular, fix their own states socially and economically, then we won't be discussing this topic.

Re: Lagos Bans Cart Pushers And Wheelbarrow Operators In The State by MrMaestro: 6:08am On Jan 14, 2018
Totally in agreement with this. I also think street hawkers should be limited and slowly phased out too. If you can't properly work with the govt and operate in a Lagos market, then you shouldn't be allowed to sell just anything. Some of the foods people are selling roadside may not even be sanitary, but because they're not localized, they can't be inspected by food administrations like they are abroad. We need more organization in Lagos and the rest of Nigeria. I'm all for this.
