First mail was a instructing me to deactivate the twitter account @PresidentOfNG which I replied saying "it's a free world and I don't have to obey their directives" and I then got a second email from this official offering me money that once I deactivate it, I will get a "handsome" reward of 250k naira. As if the reward is a man or there are ugly monetary rewards.

Anyway should I accept it or ask for more money or keep running it and also could it be a fake official who just wants the twitter account for themselves abs no reward will be given because the mail stated deactivation first then reward.

it can be a crime. Your account does not say its a parody account so they can charge you for impersonation.

Better indicate it now that this is a parody account.

Crypto kini, I never believed in all those things. They can pay to a family/friend/associate overseas and that person can send me the money that's if I decide to deactivate it but 250k naira is nothing for someone who works.

In as much as you are not using the account to disseminate falsehood and misled the public, you are doing nothing wrong. However, if you are using the account to propagate falsehood, incite the public and malign the character of the president, then you are committing crimes such as libel, sedition etc.

I don't reply to mentions and I stopped following people because I got emails from people asking for favors of contract of which I could easily scam but nah, I'm not like that. People from Cameroun mention the handle alot because they are vexing for our oga at the top and I don't know why and na me they dey mention

1) Tweet with your phone instead
2) if you must tweet with a PC endeavour to use a VPN
3) Don't share your contact details online EVER!!!
4) Don't link your Twitter account to any other social media account.
5) Review all apps you gave access to your Twitter account immediately. (Do it now)
6) Don't share your location with Twitter ( to be safe turn off your GPS LOCATOR)

before you enter Twitter, type duckduckgo.com then type Twitter in the search box. it would automatically keep you safe online.
8 ) protect you TWEETS... go to..... option, under Settings > Security and Privacy, to protect your tweets , meaning only those followers you approve get access to them.

@dreamwaker, since the person asked you to close the account before payment then it is likely that he is more interested in you closing the account than knowing your account details. So it is either the government wants you to close that account or someone out there wants it, another angle is you could lying.
