They simply used the 1st application payment to buy loads of TomTom sweets.....

NB: I think (I might be wrong).......

You can say that again. Also, I understand most of the ECO are not properly trained and have lots of workload. The refusal letter also came with a lot of typographical errors.
I simply pray for mercy and favour this time.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Iko5000: 4:37pm On Jan 18, 2018
Not sure how this is possible as a degree in Uk can be used as your English requirement . Which my wife did and it was no issue.>
Teeaas:
I did my masters in international law from unI verity college london. I think the mistake I made was putting in all my qualification in the application as English language requirement.i.e law school, call to bar, llb, diploma all in law.also I included details of a uk professional exam I am doing.so maybe the Eco just assumed they were all from nigeria.
Also there were lots of typographical error in the refusal letter indicating the Eco did not farabala (take hid/ her time)
Also I had at a point a uk residence permit, 5 year uk visit visa presently which expires next year. I have been visiting my husband since we got married but never stayed up to 6months on each visit.
This time around I only included the masters certificate and letter from naric saying since I have a uk masters degree I don't need it assessed by them again.
So please I need to know is, will priority payment for reapplication of settlement visa be treated as priority or standard.
Thanks

Sorry also , did you present the original degree certificate ?

I applied 20th of November. Was denied 1st of December. I have since reapplied. I reapplied exactly a month ago using priority.
I think you should start looking for ticket to Uk. ...all zee best to us.
That was quick. What was their reason for the refusal if you don’t mind me asking. I wish you the very best with your next application dear

Only one reason. Eco said I didn't meet English language requirement. I included my masters certificate which I obtained from a top uk university and yet Eco said I didn't meet the requirement when the appendix fm immigration rule clearly states that it is a way of proving English language eligibility. My spouse and I could have clearly appealed the decision but we do not have luxury of time.
Let's just be prayerful that oloriburuku Eco will not attend to our case o.
Oh seen

Well a lot of people doubt when I say this. Also like I said before, let just pray that a stupid ECO does not handle ones case. I included the original. I had called Naric while I'm the uk and they told me o didn't need to further access my certificate.it was a very painful one. The Eco just did rubbish.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Iko5000: 5:20pm On Jan 18, 2018
I wish you can sue as this is plain stupid . The ECO definitely does not know their work.

Ufortunately I don't think I can. The options I had was either reapply or appeal. Appeal takes 6 to 12 months. Like I said we don't have the luxury of time. We had to reapply.
My prayer now is this comes out successful and on time .it's a month and 3 days already. Let's say a month due to the bank holidays. We paid for priority like we did before.
Just maybe I will when I get my visa first.

I tink the ECO are poorly trained. I was rejected cos they said my husband is not a british citizen. Now am I stupid to apply for a spousal visa wen my husband is not a citizen. Hmmm. His passport was there and birth cert too. It ws even amongst the documents they returned back to us. How the stupid person missed it, I don't know. Apparently the person did not check well. Also on the page 9 of my online application Form, I stated his status and also his passport number and all. My people that is how these pple rejected me ooo. And the worst of all is that I only have right of appeal. I cnt reapply aagain. I was angry initially bt wt do I do? Good thing is that I av appealed online and sent supporting docs to them via the email they provided, bt i hear it takes a while. Hmmm that is my story. I wish everyone success and I pray a competent ECO who has the sense to pay attention to details handles ur application .

Apart from appealing, I think you need to escalate to anyone higher.
Possibly a letter to the home office, home office minister etc etc etc (copy all the copyables) (if such a word exists).....

Your case can be deemed as gross misconduct and negligence, on their part. Express your anger in the letter how incompetent the case worker was (you might get your appeal expedited and possibly small compensation).....

Thanks @Lexusgs430. It's really so so annoying. Any leads on how to go about it? Emails or p.o box number for us to write whilst the appeal is on? I would deeply appreciate.

Start by writing to your MP...
Amber Rudd is the home secretary (copy a letter to the home office)
Also send an email to Sheffield and request a proper reply
Also get your sponsor to call Sheffield and escalate to any manager or higher authority
Also send a letter to papers like the telegraph, sun etc etc

All this address can be got online.

In all this letters, at the foot cc all those you have sent a copy to

Hi.... actually I think you should sue the ECO or Home Office as a whole when you get to the UK for that stupid decision.... your UK University certificate is absolutely enough to cover your English language requirement.... never seen or heard of a case where they deny based on that before. Please sue them.

You’re absolutely right about this.... the person should just do that... I’m sure he/she will be financially compensated aside fasttracking the appeal.

Cost of suing would surely outweigh the benefits.... A gentle and positive nudge, is possibly enough to refund all the extra unnecessary incurred cost....

Am really sorry for the denial something similar happened to me.1st application was a mess hubby was too busy with his exams so didn’t really put everything required so we appealed 2months after we got an email with my court date after all the overtight bundle we sent we actually included everything they wanted and this was with the help of a solicitor .till date I can’t really say what they did with my bundle because my hubby was with his solicitor when he sent it off.i actually mounted pressure on hubby he resubmitted the bundle to them with a cover letter saying that we have addressed all their concerns .within 10days decision was overturned visa issued within 7 days.the only thing we lost was appeal fee.this people are human beings and am sure they would have overturned the decision if you appealed it they had no reason to deny you in the ist place.wish you all the best

Collection email: 15 January, 2018
Picked up: 15 January, 2018

Hi, Please at what point do u pay for priority? Can't see the option at the point to pay for visa application.

Type of Application: Settlement wife (Priority)
Online application submitted: 31st October
Biometric: 9th November
Email confirmation of support documents received: NONE
Decision made: 7th December
Collection email: 7th December
Courier delivery: 8 December
Picked up: 8th December

It took exactly 1month from my biometric. We are super excited as newly weds (last year) that have been separate since the wedding and hubby returned to UK.
If you can afford PRIORITY please do. It saves time and sleepless nights.
Time to go warm up hubby from the extreme cold in UK. grin[/quote]

Hi, I am working on my application. I need to know at one point the option to pay for priority comes up. I am at the pay for visa application and my total is stating $2051 without the priority fee.

Also if i am employed, am i supposed to submit my employment letter, payslips, etc.

For people who studied abroad, are you supposed to send your degree certificate?

How is the case worker suppose to judge your ability to communicate, if they don't see your certificate?

Dere is abroad and we have abroad..... Which of the abroad?

You do not get to pay for priority on the visa4uk website. It's called PSS- priority settlement service. You can pay for it on the TLS website upon registration. Go to Value Added Service and scrollto find it. It's 551 pounds.

Also regarding your certificate, if it is a UK certificate, include the original provided it is either a bachelor, master or PhD. Certificate from institutes like professional courses will not suffice.

While filling the form online, if you filled employed, I feel it is pertinent to provide such evidence.

Please take your time to arrange the documents properly, get originals and don't overlook ant important doc.

Please how did you pay for the visa fee online using a Nigerian master card. my husband in Nigeria is the one with the money and he is unsure if he can make the full payment with his card or if he has to transfer the money to my bank account in the UK to pay for it. he has a zenith mastercard.
