The Previous Day.

Bella had a trip filled with thoughts, her mothers' situation was getting worse and she couldn't just save it, she she thought from one direction to the other but it was just difficult to place her finger on the real problem.
" what could be bothering mum" she wondered.
"Does she have a problem with dad ?, Is dad cheating on her ?."

All the to answers to her questions proved difficult to arrive at. As such she tried her best to believe that nothing was actually wrong and made up her mind not to bother herself again.

After a journey of two and half hour, she arrived.

" Hello brother, hello...." Mrs Nicolas screamed on the phone.

"Yes Stella, why calling me at such such time. Dont you know its risky ?" Mr Alex responded on the other side of the phone.

"Get over that Alex because there is a far more important matter to attend to right away" She thundered at him.

Alex' heart began pounding when he heard that and with same tone he replied
" What are you even talking about Stella ? Look if this is one of those stupid jokes of yours then you should know that this is the most inappropriate time for it.

"Alex am doomed, our worst fears are becoming a reality. Gerald is about to spill every secret out to Nicolas. Except something is done about it, our plans are a guarantee failure." she explained.

"Gerald ? When did he return from hell ? I thought you had already killed him ?" Alex shouted angrily.

"Brother, i thought as much until he appeared few months ago"

"Few months ago and you didn't thought of letting me know ?"

"Sorry brother i thought I could handle him but he has grown stronger. I must confess i underestimated him and now he has proven me wrong".

"Just listen to yourself talk, I am very disappointed at you Stella. If we fail on this dad will never forgive you." Alex thundered.

"Please brother stop saying all these, i believe its not yet over. We can still do something about this. You can send your boys after Nicolas and Gerald, they headed toward the Yellow Beach. But please dont hurt Nicolas".

Alex chuckled and at that moment his anger was at the fullest and if he was close to his sister, he would have strangle her to dead.
He was short of words and decided to hang up to save his strength.


Mr Alex made a phone call with his boys and gave them instructions on what to do. He rushed down the stairs with an armles shirt exposing his muscles.

He got out of the house and passed his wife and daughter hurriedly without saying a word.

"Alex where are you going to ?" His wife asked with much concern an awe.
Sharon sat quietly watching her dad do into the car.

Mrs Nicolas instructed the maids to get her important things ready as she dressed up. Within few minutes she was ready and picked some few documents belonging to Mr Nicolas along with her.

She quickly ran out of the house into her car and filled the boots with her luggages.
The maids couldn't explain what they were seeing, their madame had never packed her things as much as now even when she was going for a trip in the U,K.

The gateman ran to gate and made sure he open it before she got close.
Before the blink of an eye, she had disappeared into the distance.

Bella was having a nice time with her boyfriend, it was the most sweetest experience they ve enjoyed together. The previous night was like heaven to the young lads and they were already imagining how beautiful they could be if they get married.

They were at the pool playing, then Bella remembered she had not called home since her arrival.
So she decided to call her dad. She rushed out of the water and headed toward her phone but before she could get to it,she strike her foot on a stone. She minded less and proceeded to her phone. Her dads' line rang five times but he didn't pick, she opted for her mothers' but it was switched off.

Her chest began to beat. She remember that her mum was in the most wrong state of mind when she left home. Her dad has never ignored her call neither has her mum's phone ever been switched off as far as she remembers.
" Something is wrong somewhere" she thought.

Hakeem noticed the expression on her face, it was not what he wanted to see.

"Hey baby what's with that look" He asked playfully.

She explainedeverything to him and he concluded it was nothing to worry about.
"Come on baby,your dad most be busy with office work or something and your mum most have forgotten to charge her phone. Cheer up girl"

"No Hakeem, my dad is never too busy to pick my call, neither does my mum forget to charge her phone, her phone is her companion especially when she is lonely. Am having a bad feeling about this" she insisted.

"Baby please dont do this to me now, i was having the best time of my life, please lets not spoil the fun" Hakeem said.

"Fun huh ? My family might be in trouble or problem and you stand there talking of fun huh ?" She said with disappointment.

Hakeem seeing the change in the tone of her voice, composed himself and decided to look at things from her side of view.

" Baby am sorry, I understand how you feel but all am trying to say is you should not worry yourself just because of this, its normal for things like this to happen maybe you are not just use to it". He said.

"Baby, sorry for the way i sounded to you, just that am very positive about this, my conscience never fails" She said cuddling around him.

"Its ok baby, try calling them later if same thing happens then we ll know what to do." Hakeem said.

"Mum what do you think could be the problem with dad ?" Sharon asked her mum anxiously.

"My dear i can't say oo, your dad has been acting strange lately. I dont know what the source of his problem is". Her mum explained.

"Mum do you think this has something to do with Edward ? Because if it does, dad will regret the day he gave birth to me" Sharon charged.

"Hey dear, dont you speak like that about your father, i strongly believe its not about Edward this time around, I think he has a bigger secret he is keeping from us" She explained.

"Mum you speak like you are so sure about this,tell me what i dont know" Sharon asked curiously.


"Just this morning I had him talking with someone over the phone, the conversation was so serious that i could here from the kitchen. I heard him call that lady "sister"."

"sister ? I thought dad is the only child of his parents, which sister is he talking about again that we dont know ?"

"My daughter i am just as confused as you, your dad is the only person I know in his family. His parents had died since he was fifteen, he inherited all their property since he was the only child. He never knew his uncles and relatives because they all lived in the village and his dad never took him there before he died. ".

"Mum if this si true then which sister is he talking about ? Could it be that he lied to you ?.

"Hmmm my daughter I dont really really have the right answer to that question, but i doubt your dad would lie to my parents" Mrs Alex said.



After an hour or two, Bella redial her parents numbers but this time around it was all switched off. Now her suspicions grew stronger and her fears worsen.
"I have to go home today and now" she said.

Hakeem walk into the room from the bathroom with a towel tied around him. He met Bella folding her clothes and getting ready to go.

"Baby, what is this ?" He asked

"I call them and their lines are all off. I cannot stay her again not even for a minute. I cannot concentrate if i dont talk to my dad" she explained.

"Its ok baby I understand, let me get dressed and drop you"

"No, no baby dont bother, i have called my driver he is already waiting outside" she said.

Hakeem nodded and got closer to her.
" Thank you baby for all the time we had together, I will never forget. Please take it easy on yourself, and make sure you call me when you get home. I will be ready whenever my help is needed,"


They hugged and kissed before they separated and Bella rushed out.
