So you mean with my 70 54 and 71 ...I am not even qualified for consideration? People have been asking questions on this yet you guys kept quiet only to come now and say this?
If 60 is the cutoff for the second test why was I allowed to write the third test putting me through the stress and all?
You guys wasn't really prepared for this at all, nd what happened to " all the 67 candidates have a new chance at winning something"?
You guys are really confused... sincerely
learn how to be couth, boy! Saying they were not prepared and confused is inappropriate, don't forget, you have the right to reject your results and the prize (if you win any). I've gone through your posts, conquerors don't have your kind of reactions to issues. Grow up.
Meanwhile, the efforts of the sponsor(s) and moderators of this event are appreciated but this edition is a downgrade from the last edition which I hope will be worked on during the subsequent editions. The moderators, in their bid to ensure the best winners emerge seemed unjust to some participants. If those whose 3rd tests were inconclusive can have their 1st and 2nd used, those that missed the third have the right to use 1st and 2nd then (I did the 3 tests). Your rule made 3rd test sacrosanct, yet you create escape route for those who didn't complete it. Naturally, people will allege favoritism for some selected people.
Also, the idea of fixing a cut off for tests of this purpose is inappropriate EXCEPT if you don't care if winner(s) don't emerge. It's either you fix cut off marks after each stage of the test to accommodate your desired number of participants or be rigid with your set cut off and deal with the number that beat it.

It's no sycophancy.
What I have noticed from the whole process is that the organizers tried asmuch as possible to give every candidate a level playing field (hence the first second and third test) Except for the obvious flaw of unclear communications I sincerely think the organizers did a good job. Besides it's a free scholarship (and they reserve the right to change the rules as they deem fit in the best interest of all Candidates). Let's quit this blame game and move on. I am pretty sure you wouldn't be complaining if the test results have favoured you

The bolded was very important. Just hope they will be clearer next time.
Time to move on though.
Life's too short abeg.

That said,
Kudos to the organizers and winners
.
It was not easy but I can't say it was fair though.
Life's not fair sha.

By the way, I strongly suspect you- skinmarvel will be among the 1st 15. wink

Just chill bro, I only stated my observation due to the irregularities which has made every process look vague, in the bid to be fair one must not tamper with standard and laid procedures. It has nothing to do with my mindset, what I said is very obvious and I never undermined the efforts of the moderators.

This is a competition,an open one and not some indoor games thing. It deserves every bit of transparency and organization.

The introduction of the third test took away the integrity of this exercise. A test to break the alleged ties after the second test could have sufficed. By all standard of test, assessment and measurement, this edition of this scholarship is unjust, unhealthy, and shoddy. I hope the sponsor can work out modalities to improve on it subsequently or better still start the exercise afresh. A single test re-adminstered to all those who did the first test to produce the best 15 will do, at least to make the exercise healthily conclusive. kiss

Winners who haven't responded to our mail should do so immediately...we assume you're not currently online.

Announcement of winners will be done tomorrow by the chief sponsor xfire around 7:30 PM in a new thread.

Hmmm, I really don't think this test exercise was properly designed, the criteria for selection isn't really fair. Anyways, kudos to the moderators and congrats to the winners..

When we said it, some people rebuked us.

Again, I repeat, even if at all you embark on a voluntary course, transparency should never be compromised.

Xfire, I have a suggestion, even though you may have your plans, I still wish this suggestion could be taken into consideration.

Why not organise a fresh test for all the 67 candidates which will be the ONLY determinant of winners?

It's a suggestion though, but one that can redeem the battered image of transparency.

The procedure to everything is easy
Since we all wrote atleast 2 tests why not pick each individual's best two scores and get the average
In that way none will be cheated .... because those who couldn't finish there third test had their first and second used.. and that is not fair

That they're even disqualifying people from the test because they didn't meet some registration criteria despite the fact that they've wasted their precious time and mb in writing the 3 tests...

sorry for the misinformation...we used only the 2nd and 3rd test for all candidates.
