so guys pls i need advise here:

My scores:

L 7.5
R 8.0
W 6.5
S 8.5

HUBBY'S SCORES:

L: 7.0
R: 6.5
W: 7.0
S: 8.5

scores right now with these results: 415, with me being principal applicant. with Hubby being the applicant its 401.

I have read that usually remarks are not more than .5 marks higher right. So if I request for a re-mark, and my scores change to 7 in writing, our score increases to 422, using hubby's current result.

I am thinking that I ask for a remark while hubby takes the exam again, so he scores higher, while my writing is hopefully bumped to 7. invariably, we score a much higher mark. The other alternative is for both of us to re-write the exam. Another fear is what if they mark downwards instead of upwards as I am hoping? Does that ever happen?

I have also read that during the period of remark which is about 8weeks, you are not allowed to use the results. this means that we cant even get into the pool till the remarking is completed. any chances of d draws dropping to 415 in 2 months? Apparently last year it dropped to 413-415 around May...

What do you guys think? Trying to weigh all my options

Congrats to those who passed their ielts and God's favour to those seeking for a remark.

I learned that IDP MOD now have headset for the listening test.

They might just be a better alternative to this BC.

Anyone close to their office should confirm this piece of info and get us a feedback.

Giving up is not a part of this deal.

Good luck to everyone.

Use LSRW 8777 and see what your score is. Play around with the numbers and see how 8 in listening changes things. If you are the younger spouse, you rewrite and leave hubby's score as it is. Just play with the numbers and be guided

While at it,you also need at least an 8 in listening, for me I feel it's best for you to rewrite if funds are available.

sorry about the outcome. it could be quite very painful.
Raise a bank draft of 15k and take to BC office, they will give you form to fill.
Goodluck in advance.

BC has a way of humbling people!!!

The way some people express their opinions on this NL is funny. What has humbling got to do with anything? Did you not hear me say I was worried about speaking? Is speaking not a tool of trade for a lawyer as well? Is there anything proud in me saying I was confident in my writing but not in my speaking? PLEASE if u don't have anything encouraging to say esp to someone who is obviously searching for answers just "read and ignore" U really don't have to respond thank you.

Just wondering

My dear, you have better chances of a better score than hubby. Leave hubby result as it is as he cant give you more than 20points.
Change that your W=7, L=8 and see how the score will bump to above 450. You Rewriting is better than waiting 6-10 weeks for result to come back.
Well your choice though.

Take a deep breath...

I read Sunvick's response and there was nothing degrading or demeaning about it

If he meant it the way you are taking it, he probably would not commence his opening statement with ''sorry about the outcome. it could be quite very painful'' and go on to proffer a solution by telling you to seek a remark by raising a bank draft for BC.

Relax. It is well.

@dtush kindly respond to my PM when you have the opportunity. God bless

Writing: 7.0
Speaking: 8.0

Please who knows if MOD IDP is now using headsets. The next available date for BC is 21st April and seems too long.

ages 33 and 34 though, so we are both not young as far as EE is concerned, compared to if we were in our twenties.

so you are saying I rewrite and aim for better in my listening and writing yea?

You need to rewrite because your Listening in below 8. That is why you're getting 422. An 8 or higher will do wonders to that 422. Also the chances of having your Lostening mark changed is very low.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by sunvick(m): 1:44pm On Feb 23, 2018
It would have been more ideal to ask what I meant by that than jumping into conclusion. I was inferring to my personal experience of writing the test.
You asked 4 questions whereby 1 could have giving you response to the statement you misunderstood.

Sorry Eilenora,e ma binu. I can see where you are coming from but I can also see where Sunvick is coming from too. I believe she did not mean that you were proud and subsequently humbled. An exam can 'humble' someone even when they were not 'proud' to begin with.

Please do not misconstrue her intentions.

Do you both have an Master's degree? My thinking is to hedge the risk....it may not be the cheapest option though...if you both rewrite, whoever gets the 8777 will be the primary applicant....just in case...the 5 points from age difference will not make a difference for getting ITA based on current trends.

My advice to you is re write IELTS exam and aim for an 8 in L and 7 in S.
Your husband's score is good for a dependent.

Stay in the pool with your 415 while you rewrite.
If you ask for a remark, the possibility of your Listening score increasing is slim.

My scores:

L 7.5
R 8.0
W 6.5
S 8.5

HUBBY'S SCORES:

L: 7.0
R: 6.5

S: 8.5

scores right now with these results: 415, with me being principal applicant. with Hubby being the applicant its 401.
