This is to show you how stupid Nigeria's news outlets can be.

How can he withdraw 2m with an ATM when it has a maximum per day
Or, how silly you made yourself look.

They probably hacked into the account and wiped out all the funds in it. A Nairalander shared once how he misplaced his ATM on a Saturday, he thought it was no big deal and decided to wait till Monday before going to the bank. That very day, he started received an alert that all the money in his account had been wiped out. You don't know how these card hackers operate, all they need is the last four digits as well as the vvf number at the back of the card. May we never fall victim to these vicious criminals.

How possible is this? The owner of the account nor go block the card on time? grin

On how many occasions was the money withdrawn cos there's no way an ATM would dispense 200k in a day.

I thought i was the only one who saw that twisted side of the story.

Trust bloggers...maybe the cash stolen was 120k but they would "up it" to N2m

You sound silly rather.

From the said dates consecutively , the victim didn't receive debit alerts or report to his bank.

Not everyone falls for cooked up stories

That is why I love GTB. If you steal a GTB ATM card, you could hack into it...yes...but transfer funds out...NEVER! It will ask you for a OTP which you can only get via the ATM token.

Hi Dominique,
Hope you good.
The said money was not withdrawn once but in up to 5 days. Wasn't he receiving alerts after each withdrawals or was he so dumb to run to his bank to report.

The story just doesn't add up

I think other banks also make use of hardware token or OTP before completing a transaction but those hackers have devised a way to bypass all that

1. The period over which the withdrawal(s) was / were made is not mentioned
2. You can raise your limit (except if something has changed)
It was actually mentioned, "the accused committed the offences from Nov. 17, 2017 to Nov. 28, 2017 at his residence".

Still don't understand how he was able to withdraw 2M through ATM.
Like others opined, the story is incomplete or the woman is telling lies to protect her reputation.

Please, stop calling people fools under my post. I hate it when you abuse random people you don't even know.
I only corrected them and that doesn't mean you should call them...and same for the other guy that quoted me and mentioned a certain tribe of the country.
Please I don't want such people on my mentions.
Apologies to the people I quoted on behalf of these guys.
Thank you!

You do mind them. Anything to direct traffic to their blog.

And by the way, he could he have withdrawn the N2m in the first place, if he doesn't have the PIN number of the card. Did he steal the PIN number too?
