Edunews:

There are procedures for admission in Nigerian tertiary institutions and they are broken into 3 categories:
Merit
Catchment and
ELDS

and finally, there is something called Concessional admission (which you can describe as connection).

if you meet the merit cut off for your year of admission, you MUST be admitted. to get the merit cut-off, go directly to the department or admission office of the institution. do not believe what you see on most websites. Many are largely untrue. The cut off this year might not be the cut off the next year.

so if you know someone who had 300+ and 80+ and wasn't admitted, it could be down to the fact that the person didn't meet the cut off for that particular year. This doesnt mean that someone with a lower score cannot be admitted (via ELDS, Catchment or Concessional) but definitely not merit.

to conclude what I mean, UNN's cut-off for 2008 was 265 but in 2014, it was 303.
in 2015, it dropped down to 295.

in other words, someone with 280 would be admitted in 2008, but not in 2014 or 2015. whereas, someone with 298 would not make it in 2014, but would make it in 2015.

so merit Admission depends on cut off, which depends on performance that year.

So, she definitely has a chance. its down to her post UTME performance.
Nice one sir. If you know about Unilorin very well you will agree with me that they will not state their cutoff but will go on pasting admission lists right away. so a candidate wont be able to complain why he or she is denied admission. hope you grab?

so the whole non transparent stuff blurred their whole admission process esp. for competitive courses like medicine and renders it largely unreliable and void.

I agree with you that the Cut-off might not be made public, but believe it when I say that If you go to the Faculty, you can get the cut-off mark there.

Like I mentioned earlier, there is Concessional admission (connection) in Nigeria. its even legal.

But the quota for merit would never be compromised

With regards to your question,
1. Admission for OAU DE would commence after the Post UTME. that should be sometime in August, once the University decides to conduct.
2. To the best of my knowledge, Direct Entry students won’t participate in the Aptitude Test. They will, however, be subjected to a special administrative process. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates should ensure that their transcript is forwarded by the Awarding Institution to the Admission Office, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for DE Admission processing.
3. For OAU Post UTME Applicants, get a free copy of the OAU Past questions, Check: https://nigerianuniversitynews.com/2015/08/obafemi-awolowo-university-oau-post-utme-past-questions-and-answers.html

Still have any other question, ask and i'd do well to answer.

1. I mistakenly exchange my surname with my first name when registering for the neco exams.
it suppose to be Musa Usman Hadi and i mistakenly wrote Usman Musa Hadi.
i hope it won't be a problem during admission process because it won't correspond with my jamb name which is Musa Usman hadi

Secondly, Is there any hope of securing admission into ATBU bauchi with a jamb score of 210. I applied for Quantity Surveying
