Help me tell him and the other guy that was saying publication is expected only during PhD. You have to demonstrate your research potential since undergraduate level. Only if many have known this, going for postgraduate studies would have been a bit easier. That’s what those school abroad appreciates. I have seen a friend with 2:1 and with two publications got a fully funded place in Canada. That you have completed your MSc and have no publication is a red flag for advancing into PhD.

I believe the DPR own you're using as example may have concluded internally within weeks and they're just wasting some candidates time. Unlike PTDF, they don't publish names and aren't under obligation to do so.

PTDF publishes names, so it's natural to be a bit anxious. No one has to wait 3 months.

By the way this is a scholarship application, not a job application. The anxiety is natural.

They have not conclude d recruitment, believe me i know. The anxiety on scholarship application is less because u can always try next year or even dese year with oda scholarship bh with job d next time u get to try again if lucky will b next ten years or never.

Hahn Ahn....People can speculate ehn... Award is award... Primary school speech and prize ooo.... Football and other sporting award oo... SUG award ooo.... Academic award....best wardrobe award... Most wanted award....most notorious award...i repeat . Award is award...ahhh guys took track medals and got their marks.... 10marks....4 awards max... 2.5mks each...lemme chip in something about the guy with a first class... Distinction....13 awards and presidential handshake.... There is something called minimum qualification.... For ptdf (MSC) the minimum qualification is a 1st class, 2:1 or 2:2 with industry experience.... A guy with only 2:1 is as qualified as the guy with first class, publications and awards (though marks are allocated for awards and publications but only if you get to the interview stage)...secondly, if MSc guys were asked for publication .....i see no reason why they will contact a PhD applicant without even one publication. ...so please let's all calm down and hope for the best

I am new to this trend but I've read most of the posts. Thanks to all of you for the posts. They are quite informative.

Please what does it imply if your status has changed to selection made on the DAAD application status?

Stop all these unnecessary speculations. If you have been contacted after the interview, it's because PTDF has assigned you to a particular school that further more requires you to take some additional steps to secure the scholarship. It doesn't mean you are on the final list automatically.

Infact, if I'm to be statistically unbiased then those contacted already have a slimmer chance of securing the scholarship, because if you don't meet up with the further requirements for your assigned school, you are out. Those who haven't been contacted have their options open especially those that did the UK interview and have not been contacted for FGC.

So if you have been contacted, kindly follow the instructions on the emails and pray to God you make it on the final list. If you haven't been contacted, just be patient. Don't let anxiety kill you

Unnecessary speculations are made by those who don't care to show how their speculations will logically lead to reality. But the person I'm quoting isn't even in that category. The speculation is just invalid.

Now, you tell me how I don't stand a chance on the final list, if I've not been contacted. No. Try to convince me. Don't just tell.

Lol... I assume you would have been done with the celebrations by now - informing family and friends, the farewell party and all that. All that remains is fold your hands, do nothing and wait for the final list. But while your hope is at its summit, don't shoot down the hope of others.

BTW, You can keep yourself busy here by for instance asking or telling us how you are going about that police character report of yours or if you have any other challenge.
