You might have to visit the nearest study centre for clarity. During my time I registered online, printed my admission letter then went to school for clearance when i got info that clearance had started. That was many years ago sha and NOUN rules change everyday.

Check the school calendar on that link i gave you to know when the new session will start. We're currently preparing for exams.

Morning house, someone shud please explain the meaning of (AuB)a??(AnB)..the problem here is the lower case a and the question marks.never seen that before

Haha @ Tojued, #welcomeToNOUN..

for your mind u sabi maths...hahahahah...joke aside, but that's how the web script interprets certain symbols...e.g ' "... As in 'quote' will turn to a??quotea?? Or he's....hea??s

That's by far what i know and have seen in my TMAs...just try to work around any mathematical symbol you can think of that should be there......don't worry you'll get used to it....hahahahah

Hope this induction went smoothly and helps others as well.

Thanks.

AuB means A union B. AnB means A intersect B. Its a mathematical set question.

Hello bro, i thought my response earlier will give you an insight...anyway, the a?? is ought to be a "prime" symbol as in naija school slangs, however, its actually called "complement" which is a set symbol representation of ASCII symbol ' apostrophe....

Each time you come across that jargon just replace it with an apostrophe and re-read/interpret the statement. [s]As said earlier, web script engine tried and failed during code translation[/s]...you may just forget the nonsense i typed after the last FULLSTOP till this point.

So in your case,
find
the sets of Union set A and set B,
and
Intersect set A and set B
individually and then

find the "Complement" or "Prime" of your combined results,

this gives "what is NOT in union of A&B AND intersect of A&B"

....normally this are in/exclusive kind of questions, including all or excluding i.e all or null shocked shocked shocked.

Hope this drive home the nut.... grin tongue wink

For future students, please note, in NOUN whenever, you come across a?? It simply means SINGLE APOSTROPHE....

The below link will explain further and show some example for your better learning...remove the 3 *[asterisks]

https:*//*bit.*ly/2t4dejF and if you're in stats/math major, then this is for keep... https:*//*bit.*ly/2HJdAlo

Hope this helps you in some way!

Thanks and have a great day...

Disclaimer:
Abeg no forget, i am not a maths guy...I’m just passing by cool.
This is not by any means an answer, as i try to be vague as possible.

REMINDER! REMINDER! REMINDER!

WE HAVE 13 MORE DAYS TO GO

LATEST DEVELOPMENT ON TMA

TMA 1
Opening date: 5th June, 2018
Closing date: 26th June, 2018
12 midnight

TMA 2
Opening date: 27th June, 2018
Closing date: 18th July, 2018
12 midnight

TMA 3
Opening date: 19th July, 2018
Closing date: 14th August, 2018
12 midnight

BOTTOMLINE:

1) Students can now only read and do their tmas, no printouts
2) Only a TMA will be available for a student at a time, following the timelines provided. This means that no TMA is open-ended.
You must do your TMA within that period or risk a zero mark for that TMA
3) You must attempt TMA and exams to receive an end of semester grade for every course registered. This is a standard rule for university.
4) Ideally, a student should pass both TMA and exams to receive a pass mark for the course. Therefore, students shoukd endeavour to do their TMA themselves as TMAs prepare students for their final examinations.
5) A student is expected to study the course materials, do TMAs and assignments in the course materials before attempting the online TMAs. Therefore, one (1) question will pop up at a time for student to attempt before the next question will pop-up. Where the student is not able to attempt for example, question 1, he/she could click NEXT to move to question 2 and so on.
6) There are three TMAs per each course registered by a student, a student is expected to attempt all. Each TMA has 10 test items(1-10)
