In Uniport it's called 'rassing'.. I was waiting for the part where you'd say they landed a slap but shockingly you didn't...
In uniport who uses gun to forcefully take your stuff?.. Just one factory-resetting slap and every request after that you'll just be complying anyhow... You won't even know when you tell them 'thank you' after they're done with you i swear..

Most students think the campus is some form of ideal environment and so move about carelessly, easily distracted.

When moving in Nigeria especially at night move in groups. Also move with the barest of items, no phones, no keys, the barest money.

Making calls while strolling after 7pm is an invitation to the thieves.

It's a very common thing in FUTO. A friend of mine was robbed of his phone, wallet, and even the clothes he wore were robbed of him. He came back to his lodge with only boxers.

Lemme drop this here:
Countless number of times, I have seen people try to portray the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote e.t.c as rich people who don’t live a flashy lifestyle just because they don’t wear “Gucci” and all other designers considered as “flashy/classy” being worn by Hushpuppi and all other celebrities. I can’t help but laugh at their ignorance.

Taking the owner of Facebook as an example, they say he “ordinary plain grey T-shirts” despite having a net worth of over 72 billion USD. Have you ever tried checking out how much each of the T-shirt costs? In case you’re not informed, each of them costs around $300-$400 and he has lots and lots and lots of them. There are even rumors he doesn’t wear a T-shirt twice. So you can imagine how wearing $2100-$2800 worth of “ordinary plain grey T-shirts” a week portrays you as being “simple”.

Do you even know he spent $100 million on buying two properties on Kauai Island in 2014 alone? He has several other properties which amounts to millions of dollars. Now is that still a “simple” life? Bill Gates owns a house that costs $123 million and he’s a “simple” man just because he doesn’t wear Gucci?

The fact that people spend money on what they wear doesn’t mean they don’t have investments/businesses. A person buys an iPhone X/Samsung S9 plus and the next thing people say is “He should have bought a land in Ibeju”, “Why didn’t he invest that money on cryptocurrency?”, “Oh, he is living a fake life. He should have invested the money on landed properties”. Do you know if the person in question has built two houses in Ibeju already? Do you know if he has a substantial amount of digital currencies? Do you even know if he doesn’t like the idea of doing business at all?

The point is, we all have different personalities and what entices or makes us happy are distinct from one another. We all have different mentalities. So, if man A decides to spend HIS money on clothing and fashion items, man B might decide to spend HIS on buying cars. Man C might decide to spend it on houses. This doesn’t mean man A is trying to be flashy or man C is a “simple” man. It all depends on what makes you happy.

Everyone is entitled to his/her own kind of lifestyle!

site your examples here in nigeria, you re busy mentioning men in a classic nation.

He's a sissy because he was robbed by three armed men? A sissy for surrendering his property to people that threatened him with guns? Are you kidding me??

It's obvious you're not a very bright fellow. Sadly, hypocrites like you would be the same to chant #EndSARS on other social media. If I may ask, what's the difference between what these guys did and SARS usual method of operation?

This is quite sad, it's happening in our universities and the students have learnt to live with that

The truth of the whole thing is, the obtainers are lazy, they want good things but they don't wanna work for it, they want to eat good food, ride good cars, they make their fellow student suffer for it

But they have forgotten the principle of the world "A sinner will not go unpunished"

Its not definitely God that will punish those people with darkness in their minds but its a principle...

I have experienced it and it's disheartening

Unilag boys...

Una don start again?.

I'm suspecting High rise area

During my Bsc. Days in Unilag (Graduated last year and currently serving) I only heard of such incidence happening around Faculty of Art/Business Admin during late hours but that was during my year one in school.

From year 2 to final year was calm and I didn't hear of such.

From the Op writeups... Since he said it's he was obtained in second gate (Iwaya gate) I can only suspect FSS boys... I fear those boys. That's the headquater of cult boys in Unilag.

Chei! Sorry bro. Here in EBSU..they collect even a Nokia touch lol..the first time I experienced it was in 2015..just packed into one hoste lon 22nd DEC n traveled on 23rd for Xmas..I even came bk before new yr..it was as if they had my spare key..before I came bk. They took my laptop, new hand bags I bought for sell.. Etc. And still locked my door for me lol.second time was in Oct 2017..right inside my compound. I didn't know they were following me. That was around 7:30pm and ppl were still outside...though it was a bit dark. They just held my hands from behind pointed a gun at me. And I was holding my phone. Before I knw it..my phone was gone..since then I decided not to go out in the evening with my big phone. I bought a small Nokia touch..they still snatched it from me in April this year.. There is hunger in Ebonyi state university.. Students aren't smiling here

You have some good points but I beg to differ in some aspects.
You can't compare investment in real estate to material things. The value of the properties will surely increase and its just another form of investment.

Find how to reach your SUG for action. They in turn should take it up with the school management and CSO.... They will have to secure safe zones for students especially for movement at night. (they may not secure the whole campus & off campus environment) but at least students should be assured of safe spaces on campus.... It worked for us well, back in the days
