Hello, av been unable to connect my phone to my laptop as a portable device thru the mtp recently, thought it was because dr was no sdcard in my phone buh its d same wit all oda phones av bn trying wit it, though i was able to connect a small tecno n d storages wr shown. Av tried uninstalling d drivers, still no luck, even disabled d drivers signature enforcement because i saw under the driver details for mtp usb device dt winusb.sys is not signed, also copied d file from a working machine buh nothing.......... Hey guys.. Please I seriously need help.

Just this morning, I decided to scan my elitebook 8440p for viruses using 360 Total Security. The software was set to automatically resolve any issue and shut down the system.

I came back few minutes later only to find my system shutdown..

I tried to reboot it.. It came up, but Instead of showing the log in interface, it's showing me a black screen..

Go to the control panel > then click on mouse > in the properties window, you'll see a Tab where you'll select the primary button > click to highlight the right click >then apply..... You're done.

Let's try this first

Before you try any of the following methods, be sure that there are no external devices (USB +mouse+modems etc) attached. Also be sure there is no DVD in the drive. If at all there are any attachments, remove them including the DVD then restart your laptop... Voila!! This might just be your fix...

So, let's proceed...

Power on your PC, start pressing the F10 button repeatedly to access the BIOS. Wetin you dey find for here? . Well, once you're in the BIOS, you're to change the HDD to AHCI from the current IDE. Save changes then restart.

Surprisingly there's an easy fix, keep reading

Usually there's a self fix that's done once you boot into safe mode . What this means is that once you're able to boot into safe mode and you restart your laptop, this issue is resolved.

So, power off the PC > power on and start pressing F8 or shift+F8 you'll be taken to the advanced boot menu where you'll select "safe mode". [in safe mode, your laptop boots normally except this time with minimal drivers]

Now once you're in, you're going to simply restart your laptop normally. You're done!

If the problem persists,

Then boot into safe mode again but this time you'll have to download IDE ATA/SATA controller driver for hp Elitebook 8460p. Once you're done, reboot. That's it.

You can enable the touch from the BIOS.

Get into BIOS by pressing F10 during start up > look "system devices" or a corresponding name (because the name might be different depending song in the BIOS version)

You will see a list of devices including the touch(possibly disabled), Enable it.


A sure fire way to get the touch working is to download the driver from the manufacturers site

Visit hp.com then navigate to the "support and drivers tab". From there you can get a list of the drivers for your laptop by putting in the system name and series in the box provided. >download and install the driver only the display driver.

Don't forget that your laptop model looks like this ;
Hp m6-e00nia. Find yours at the bottom of the laptop. Another way to find it is to press F1 during startup. You can also find this in system information by typing "msinfo32" in the search bar and then pressing "enter".

I guess he updated it from windows 8 or 7. For touchscreen to work in windows 10 for many x360 models, it needs a fresh install of windows 10 not an upgrade. That way, windows 10 will install the necessary drivers needed.
