There was commotion after a young man was caught today by some youths while allegedly trying to abduct school children in Omuchi Igwuruta area of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital. It was gathered that the guy disguised himself and dressed like a lady in order not to attract attention to himself and to allegedly perfect his evil plans.

He reportedly confessed that he was sent to kidnap little school children in the area.

He has been handed over to Igwuruta police for more investigations.

When you have over 100 million of very poor people living in a country, then crimes will be the order of day in such a place. My take is that it will get worst, if we refuse to begin to solve the problems of this country.

That starts with electing competent leaders that run the country and states like a business. Running government like a business eliminates wasteful spending and stealing. Do CEOs of companies steal their organization's monies and take them to other countries, like our leaders do?

Do they waste their company's monies on white elephant projects, like our leaders do? Do they inflate contracts to steal or connive with their vendors to defraud their organizations so their companies lose money and potentially go out of business, which is how our government is operated?

If states are run like a business, we will see that every state can create massive amounts of employment opportunities because we'll then be able to take advantage of our land resources, which is where opportunities for immediate growth exists.

Malaysia is developed using agriculture - palm oil in particular. So, no idiot should say the Agric sector cannot create jobs, like someone wrote an article entitled "who agriculture epp" not long ago. Imagine what would happen if every governor uses all unused lands in their state to setup plantation-style farms.

Food, raw materials, export revenues, and jobs will abound if this is done. Then we can use the raw materials to develop and power the next phase of industrialization in terms of processing and value addition, and creation of totally new foods and products based on our unique environment.

We can do it. Let us do this, otherwise, crime will consume everybody eventually. Everyone will be a victim of a crime regardless of whether you live in Abuja or in Lekki if we fail to fix this country.
