The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday directed that the completed portions of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway from Eric Moore to Okokomaiko be opened up to traffic as soon as possible following the completion of works by the contractor.

The governor also directed the Public Works Corporation to intensify palliative works on the road from Okokomaiko to Badagry.
The state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, in a statement, said the governor was touched by the discomfort being experienced by the motoring public plying that axis and has vowed to continue to intensify all necessary steps to ameliorate their sufferings.

Addressing the issue of harassment raised by the residents, Mr Akinsanya said that security and traffic agencies have been directed to enforce the provisions of the state traffic law by dislodging road side traders and hawkers from the road .

Please help look for a remedy to the bad state of this road on time. I no longer take buses on this road but bikes just because of the heavy traffic.

Mr. man you better don't say what you don't know, CCECC is just a mere contractor that is controlled by client i.e Lagos state govt. if they LASG want the project to complete in next month , CCECC is ready to deliver the project , just that they have politicised the project long time ago. I don't think that project would be completed any time soon because money budgeted for it has been embezzled since.

Good news from ambode but lets try and keep things in the right perspective op. Most portions of the road from orile to alakija which have been completed have been open for months to commutters thats why there isnt much traffic on that stretch so dis part of the annoucement isnt a big deal. The bigger deal is that repair work should start quickly from alakija all the way past okokomaiko to agbara the hardship is unbearable. And the street trading at iya iba is a major head ache that needs to be cleared.Thugs claiming to represent ojo lg regularly collect #150 per day from d traders and allow them sell by d road side. And to the person saying you cant spend 8hrs on the road is a lie try moving on the road from alakija to agbara busstop on a saturday evening after heavy rain. I swear u go find way carry your motor for head.���

We trust in you leadership to swing to action and bring to an end this continuous suffering and death trap within Lagos State.

This is supposed to be an international road linking West Africa into Nigeria through Lagos, the commercial hub centre of the economy. You can imagine the huge amount of commerce this road brings into the economy yet, it’s in total disrepair!

Maybe we have to invite another western president to visit this part of Lagos which leads to Badagry where iconic historical monuments are located before the situation is salvaged!

Trucks overturn their content due to the state of the road on almost a daily basis not to mention the damage to vehicles which ply this route and yet this road leads to many state and federal institutions! Nigeria, why are you like this?

Open what? The fucking road has been opened like the toto of a small girl with a big 'god' since 2017.

My pain is that the said areas that were assumed to have been completed had/have terrible potholes. In some places, you have pure mud-up granite forming chain gallops creating a conducive environment that my 4 shock absorbers unanimously hijack to create a gongy sound of sorrow that reminds me of how bad the shock absorbers have become.

Until those spots are fixed and given the same type of civil engineering touch like those that were presumed to be completed, all these media fanfare been given to that directive will not change anything in reality in the life of passengers on that axis that this road was meant to be a blessing to and not a curse and stress.

I'm sorry, never knew you work as a hawker on the road to use full working hours on the road.
I was talking about those using it as transport to and fro, not those hawking on it.
