Nairaland / General / Re: The New Nairaland: Are You Staying Or Leaving? by Queenzy(f): 4:03pm On Mar 12, 2012
All talk and no suggestions! When will Nigerians change? Me, Rhodalyn, Nike4love, hotangel, gridlock and so many others were one of the first set of people to register on nairaland in august 2005, we had our fun then and we left....well, some of us left cos Seun offended us somehow. all am trying to say is, whether u leave or u stay, nairaland will still remain and will still get more members! I have been inactive on NL for years now but I always come back to get the latest info on what is happening in Nigeria and beyond. I even come here to laugh too. I think d new NL is cool and better than d previous one. its even easier to access now. for those complaining of eye issues, I am short sighted yet I can still access d new NL even without my glasses! u guys should give d guy a break! he has done a good job after all. he gave Nigerians a place to meet regardless of age, sex and location and even race!
Seun has done a good job. give him d credit he truly deserves.

for me, am staying, in fact d new NL will even make me more active.

My dear u shouldn't be having this problem. When i got admission in Unn I used my neco result. I wrote neco in 2005 and I collected my original certificate in 2008 before orientation for freshmen even began. But I have heard that uni port is a case. And I have experienced that there. I got admission in uni port to study linguistics and communication studies from jamb office I even had my letter but by the time I got to d school, my admission was sold to d highest bidder. I packed my things and went back to writing jamb before Unn finally accepted me.
Just go to neco headquarters in minner, niger state. Hopefully u will be attended to. Good luck

I'm VERY sure that most of you commenting on this posts are not students of UNN. You people have no idea what has been going on in that place! I've taken time to read everyone's comments and i realised, some people think with their anus! I got admission into UNN in '08. Then, i paid 6k for acceptance fee. School fees was 38,700 naira{excluding other fees like hostel fee, department and faculty dues and hostel dues}. New students are now paying 25k for acceptance fee!{calculate the percentage increase here and tell me how much these students will pay when they resume!} we're currently paying 11,500 for hostel fee and we're 4 in a room. Now he said we'll start paying 40k and we'll be SEVEN in a room! That fool told the media that he didn't make any increament. THEN WHY IS ACCEPTANCE FEE 25K INSTEAD OF 6K?

Educational Services / Re: Asu Strike Is There Any Hope? by Queenzy(f): 2:28pm On Jun 30, 2009
The so called ASUU does not care about the welfare of students!
The fact is members of ASUU send their kids abroad to school, so they never get to really feel what its like to sit at home for 3 months or more doing nothing!!!

Take University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for example, the school authorities had to send students home in December for 3 months break because of NUGA games. School resumes March 15th and we never went on any vacation because the warning strike affected our exams. Second semester resumed May 30th. Note that so many students hasnt finished their first semester exams due to the 2 weeks warning strike.
Now we're back for second semester, on the first day when lectures was to begin in full force so lecturers could cover up their outline on time, ASUU, NASUU struck!!!

How do they want students to cope?
Imagine a 4year course turning to a 6yr course!

Its INSANE!!!

The Nigerian educational system needs to be scrapped!
