Agreed.
Napoli and Barca play about the same pattern but the Barca squad is deeper in number and talent.
One or two injuries in the Napoli squad and it becomes a flat tyre.
I am not even sure Osimhen will be available if Nigeria goes deep in the Nations Cup tourney.

Get rid of these deadweights and this country will float to the surface of life.

At times I wonder why the government isn't interested in peace in the SE, the peace in the SE is a very low hanging fruit but wickedness prevents common sense .

Igboho was released with connivance from tinubu ,yet MNK is still in jail .

Just because of one man the security forces are dying like flies in SE, how much is MNK life worth ?

If statistics shows that the next soldiers to die in SE can be prevented by the release of MNK, why not release him?

Get him sign an undertaking of peace like uwazurike and everyone goes home happy .

Let me predict that some low thinking individual here will quote me and start writing without critical reasoning .

Why.
This is an honest assessment.
Not to talk about the fact that the direct cost of insecurity to the economy is humongous and growing and the indirect cost of monetising security agents which is potentially deadly and destabilising.

For it is one thing for militants and bandits to have huge resources to prosecute their nefarious activities, it is another thing to have serving military officers amass huge vaults under the guise of security votes.

On the aspect of MNK and the South East question, history is filled with the inability of States to hound political prisoners into oblivion. The thought that the issue can be locked away and forgotten while everyone goes about his merry way is just fantasy. Nigeria is just not yet ready to address her structural issues so we continued to live under threat day after day, costing no only lives but huge resources that should be expended kin forward motion. Liberty is expensive for both individuals, communities and the State. The price to pay for that is humility, solidarity and equity.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in sitting down and negotiating solutions towards peace.
It was done in Northern Ireland, it was done in south-africa, it was done in Burma before the military made a volte-face and the country plunged back into misery. All these places faced armed struggle the kind of which we have not even seen a fraction of in Nigeria, so what is our problem, except for the pride of an ignorant State and the ideology of sections of this country.

That should be worrisome because it's usually a very busy market and on a Saturday, you're not even suppose to see front because of crowd of shopper

Omo, something is definitely wrong as people are not even able to buy basic food items

Also at the cold room next to Boku Supermarket in the same Onipanu where l went shopping for chicken, l was there for almost 30 minutes and no single person came into the big store to buy fish, chicken or turkey because they were too expensive

We cannot be talking about an unfair contest between two illegitimate parties. A referee cannot give a red card to a player already suspended by the FA. What is he doing on the pitch in the first place.

I have observed that a lot of people have jumped on the wagon of the 's-elected' governor. But is this not political laundering. An attempt to pass off a heist as legitimate earnings.

Exactly what will it say it has positively achieved except perhaps to say that if Mr. Buhari was in government for a third term things would have been much worse.

Every passing day of 'business as usual', aka 'lack of visionary or revolutionary ideas' in leadership circles paints a picture of another regime lacking the capacity to handle the affairs of this country.

The image the average citizen has is that Abuja is on siesta. The past months of November and into December absolutely nothing happening at project site Nigeria.

Don't mind them.

They can't relate the fact that they have to borrow to survive simply because revenue is down due to a collapse in productivity caused by the decimation of the middle class.

Where professionals and entrepreneurs are fast closing down their businesses and migrating for paid employment and venture enterprises abroad.

The effect is that when the kettle on the hot plate has vaporized the water it proceeds to consume itself before finally pulling the entire house down in a fiery fire storm.

Where you see an earth hole on your farm there is either a bush rat in place or a snake waiting for the bush rat to wander back home.

The young people of this country will always position themselves to enter the middle class but where the snakes of systemic national hostility await they will naturally find new homes abroad to rest.

Who wants to be an unfortunate victim of the peddlers of the failed system called Nigeria plc.

Of course it is not enough to buy Generals houses in Atlanta, Texas and Florida.
It is only in a Banana Republic that you hear such slide without angst just days after a major expose on a serving officer alleged;y having multiple billion naira houses abroad..... only in Nigeria.

And I will continue to speak out against the monetisation of professionalism throughout the corridors of government. Everywhere you go so called professionals fortunate to find themselves in administration have sold their souls to money. They have reduced every venture to naira and kobo from Betty Edu to the Defence chief and many more.

Yes, they speak these things at their budget defences but the fact of the matter is that a pervading culture of 'throw money at problems' has swallowed the soul of this country eating away at the will to get things done by every way and means possible including looking inwards to creativity, qualitative management and resourcefulness.

In Nigeria today administrators are content with mediocrity, failure and doing nothing if money is not front and centre so the country continues to bleed its economy to feed the proverbial bears.

When a General who should speak in terms of tanks and ships, aircraft, bombs and bullets like his counterparts abroad is more adept to naira and kobo, something is amiss.

In those days the simple reason why professionals are engaged is so that things can be DONE rather than BOUGHT.
Nigeria is long lost along that road.

Outside restructuring, the only thing Nigeria needs is revolutionary leadership. Out of the box thinkers in government and beyond and the backing of a citizenry that is absolutely fed up with the status quo.

We must not eulogize politicians who get into positions of power to serve personal interest. The primary reason for all the agitations is poverty. What’s the government doing about food security? What’s happening to the roads? What’s happening in the health sector? Can the people access health facilities at reasonable costs and with ease?

When it is said these Brent Wood Institutions are only only imperialists ready to be milking through imposition of useless leaders who bent over to their life choking economic policies, some zombies here will be calling people wailers.

Well no one ever liked the medicine the doctor recommends but it is necessary.
Everyday we talk about killing import dependence and becoming a productive nation.
How will these things be without the 'stick' of right sizing, right calibrating our economy.
If petrol sold for 80, 90, 100, 200 naira per litre who will think of building any refinery for instance.

Politics / Re: Adebayo Adelabu: Nigeria Gets 40,000MW Power From Generators by Reference(m): 6:46am On Dec 13, 2023
This is what we have been saying for years, almost 3 decades and from the infancy of this forum.
Nigerians have the capacity to develop Nigeria.
All it needs is a reorientation of thought and processes (restructuring) away from individualism to a nature of collectivism and a break from self serving leadership.

Nigerians indeed generate more power than the state and the state organised power sector.
Nigerians indeed pump more water than all the state controlled and state organised water boards.
Nigerians indeed employ more security guards than the combined armed forces and policing agencies in Nigeria.
Nigerians indeed have more dollars in their vaults than the CBN can dream of.
And very soon they will probably earn more foreign exchange than the nation officially earns.

In truth this is the way it should be.
Resources and the potentials to create wealth should be in the hands of the citizens.
The only difference between advanced, developed and inherently prosperous societies and backward, third world banana republics is not the availability of resources but the organisation of these resources.

How they are cultivated and applied to purpose, vision and collective progress.
Incidentally this is the sole purpose of government. To aggregate resources and organise society towards a collective vision of prosperity.
This we have not been able to do since independence despite the monstrous resources that have come our way, all frittered away.

So in order not to wander away in thought, the power issue is simple.
Restructure it. Rebuild it from the ground up. Make it people-centric not exclusive. INVOLVE NIGERIANS. They have the capacity.
Build smart grids so that TRUE IPP's can inject power into the grid AND MAKE MONEY FROM THEIR ASSETS, such that instead of turning off their generators when "NEPA" comes they can keep them running for a little profit.

If this technological leap seems far fetched then organise power clusters where big generating individuals and companies can sell power locally as they please.

If this liberty still threatens the monopolists then why can't they simply ask the public to invest in power through shareholding, making it mandatory that the power sector be a TRUE public enterprise.

All it takes is ORGANISATION, the only purpose of GOVERNMENT.

Feudal country.
Further proves that he was not democratically elected but selected to do the bidding of his 'king', the only guarantee for his success.

If they are not propping up the extremely corrupt and vile so as to blackmail them to do their bidding in office they will select the extremely timid, extremely indolent or an outright mentally challenged fellow so that there is no independent thought in government or no will whatsoever to change the status quo for the better.

And then we turn round and blame the colonial regime for exactly the same misadventure and for planting the seeds of every social malaise we cultivate today.

Only in a third world banana plantation will a single individual who was absolutely nothing a couple of decades ago will evolve into a monstrous tyrant that hapless citizens flee from at the wave of a hand.
