‘Home Alone’ star Macaulay Culkin has opened up about his relationship with Michael Jackson in his first interview since allegations of child sex abuse were made against the late pop icon in the explosive documentary Leaving Neverland.
An 11-year-old Culkin had starred in Jackson’s music video for “Black and White,” and the pair became close friends. Culkin now 39, told Esquire magazine he never saw Jackson abuse anyone and denied the singer behaved inappropriately with him.

“I never saw him do anything. And especially at this flashpoint in time, I’d have no reason to hold anything back. The guy has passed on. If anything–I’m not gonna say it would be stylish or anything like that–but right now is a good time to speak up. And if I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it. But no, I never saw anything; he never did anything.”

In the interview with Esquire, when asked if it bothers him that people assume he was also abused by Jackson, Culkin said: “I’m gonna begin with the line – it’s not a line, it’s the truth: He never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything.”

Afro-soul star, Aituaje Iruobe aka Waje reportedly wants to quit doing music professionally.
Waje announced this move in a now-viral video, citing high cost of publicity and low purchase rates of her album as reasons why she was considering quitting.

She said, “After everybody shouted ‘Waje, your last album was how many years ago, please we need an album’. Where are all the people that were shouting?
“I don’t have the money for publicity and that’s what I am saying. Emerald’s (her daughter) school fees is there.
“it’s like I have ten things laid out for me and every single time, its always been my music, my music that is taking the bulk of my money.
“I am not willing to put money there anymore,” she said.
Nigerians on Twitter have jumped on the video to react, making ‘Waje’ the number two trending topic on Twitter, on Monday.
Most of the respondents symphatised with her, noting that the music industry can be a hard terrain to glide through. They pleaded with her not to quit music but face her mental health first.

A team of researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have unveiled a 3D printer that uses light to create an entire object at once. It's called the Replicator, named after the machines in the Star Trek universe that can synthesize food, water, air and various objects seemingly out of nothing. Before you get too excited, the researchers didn't quite create an exact replica of that fictional machine, but it still offers a new and promising 3D printing technique.

According to the team's paper published in Science, the Replicator works like a reverse CT scan. When a patient undergoes the procedure, an X-ray tube rotates around their body to take multiple photos that a computer can use to create 3D images. The Replicator, on the other hand, starts with a 3D model, which is then uploaded to a computer to help the researchers come up with 2D photos of it from every angle. Those 2D images are then fed to a slide projector used to cast images onto a cylinder filled with a synthetic resin called acrylate.

The machine rotates the cylinder to correspond with the angle of the image projected onto it, and the resin solidifies when it absorbs enough photons to create the final product. Since the process doesn't print objects by depositing material layer by layer, the result is an object with a surface smoother than what usual 3D printers can achieve. The current version of the Replicator can only create centimeter-sized objects -- they even tested it by printing out a tiny version of The Thinker within a couple of minutes. In the future, though, the researchers believe it could be used to create bespoke medical components and to encase existing objects in resin.

Iraqi deputy oil minister, Fayadh al-Nema, said yesterday that OPEC would work to stabilise oil markets, crude prices and supplies at its next meeting.

“OPEC and non-OPEC producers will work together to restore balance to oil prices and supplies to make sure prices stay stable,” he told journalists at an oil exploration conference in Baghdad.

Meanwhile, oil prices yesterday moved up regaining some of the previous day’s more than 6 per cent fall, supported by a report of an unexpected drop in U.S. commercial crude inventories as well as record Indian crude imports.

However, investors remained on edge, with the International Energy Agency (IEA) warning of unprecedented uncertainty in oil markets due to a difficult economic environment and political risk.

International Brent crude oil futures were at $63.42 per barrel, up 89 cents, or 1.4 per cent from their last close, while the U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures, were up 70 cents, or 1.3 per cent, at $54.13 a barrel.

Yesterday’s gains came after a report by the American Petroleum Institute, API, on Tuesday that U.S. commercial crude oil inventories had fallen unexpectedly by 1.5 million barrels, to 439.2 million barrels, in the week to November 16.

Katy Perry has been named the highest paid woman in music in 2018 by Forbes.

The 'Roar' hitmaker has topped the business publication's annual list with earnings of $83 million (S$114 million) before tax over the 12 months from June to June, with the 80 dates of her huge 'Witness' world tour contributing the bulk of the cash receipts.

Meanwhile, Katy's role on the judging panel for 'American Idol' reportedly netted her a further $20 million.

The numbers are calculated using "pre-tax earnings from 1 June 2017, through 1 June 2018, before deducting fees for agents, managers, lawyers and estate executors".

The UK’s High Court has blocked a mass lawsuit against Google which sought damages for the company’s practice of gathering data on iPhone users who specifically said they didn’t want to be tracked.

The decision was announced by Mr Justice Warby, sitting in London, on Monday, The Guardian reports.

Justice Warby said that “it is arguable that Google’s alleged role in the collection, collation, and use of data obtained via the ‘Safari workaround’ was wrongful, and a breach of duty”. However, it was also said that Google’s actions did not cause damage to users, and that it was impossible to group everyone who was potentially affected into one class, for the purpose of the lawsuit.

The judgment concludes that: “The damage sustained and the compensation recoverable by each represented individual are modest at best. The main beneficiaries of any award at the end of this litigation would be the funders and the lawyers, by a considerable margin.”

Google was looking at a fine of £3bn, had the lawsuit gone through.

Campaign group Google You Owe Us started the litigation, with former Which? director Richard Lloyd leading the charge. The litigation claimed each user’s damages go up to £750. There are a total of 4.4 million affected users, it claimed.

Bill Cosby is due to be sentenced for his sexual assault conviction from earlier this year in a two-day proceeding starting on Monday.

The 81-year-old star of The Cosby Show was found guilty in April of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

The court in Norristown, Pennsylvania, has scheduled two days for the sentencing, to give witnesses the opportunity to speak before the judge.

Cosby, who has been under house arrest since his conviction, will also be offered the chance to make a statement before Judge Steven O’Neill hands him his sentence.

His lawyers have said he will appeal the conviction, which observers say could push the case up to Pennsylvania’s highest court and take several years.

More than 50 women have come forward to publicly accuse Cosby of sexual assault spanning several decades.

But Cosby’s conviction on three counts of aggravated indecent assault refers solely to accusations from Constand, a former employee at Temple University in Philadelphia, Cosby’s alma mater.

It was a paradigm shift last night as Croatia and Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric was named The Best Footballer Award winner yesterday in London. The feat ended Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s decade-long domination of football’s individual awards.
The Croatian midfielder starred for both club and country as Madrid won a third straight Champions League, and he inspired Croatia to reach the World Cup final for the first time.

Modric’s success means Ronaldo remains tied with Messi having won FIFA’s award in different guises five times each.

Mercedes-Maybach has given us our first look at a concept set to debut this month at the 2018 Beijing auto show.

Maybach has released a teaser sketch and video that provide a glimpse at the concept's interior, which is lined in leather and accented with polished metal and blue ambient lighting. Maybach says it is also developing a matching furniture collection that reflects the design idiom, form and material mix of the concept. It's something we've seen from rival ultra-luxury marque such as Bugatti.
The concept is the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury, and according to the designers it blends the luxury of a high-end sedan with an SUV body style.
This suggests we're looking at an early preview of the oft-rumored Maybach version of the next-generation Mercedes GLS, which is doing the rounds in prototype form and due in showrooms next year as a 2020 model. There are rumors the new full-size SUV will be unveiled in November at the 2018 Los Angeles auto show.
But getting back to the concept, it's said to also depict a further evolution of the Maybach design language, which will be utlized on future production models to further distinguish them from the Mercedes models on which they're based.

Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis on Thursday washed the feet of 12 prisoners, including a Nigerian at Regina Caeli prison in Rome.

According to Vatican News, the twelve men, selected by prison authorities, come from Italy, the Philippines, Morocco, Moldavia, Columbia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
Eight of them are Catholics, while two are Muslims, one is a Buddhist and one is an Orthodox Christian.
The rite, performed yearly on Holy Thursday, commemorates Jesus Christ’s Last Supper with the apostles. The ceremony is part of the run-up to Easter Sunday.
“Everyone always has the opportunity to change life and one cannot judge. I am a sinner like you but today I represent Jesus… God never abandons us, never tires of forgiving us,” Pope Francis said to the inmates.

Abraham Badru, 26, the son of a House of Representatives member, Dolapo Badru, has been shot dead in the United Kingdom.

The deceased was killed late in the evening on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

He was murdered close to his family home in Dalston, Hackney. The young Badru was reported to have Badru died at his mother's side who was in tears as she held on to him on the pavement.

His death makes him the tenth person to be killed in a list of murders that have occurred in London over a 12-day period.
