Politics / The Most Rational Reasoning On Recent High Rate Of Suicide In Nigeria by scoty2910: 8:12am On May 21, 2019
Suicide will multiply in Nigeria. Not because times are hard. Times were HARD way back before now. The problem now is that adults are increasingly immature and the society is increasingly frivolous. People have no true friends, because friends now see themselves as rivals. Back stabbers/biters now masquerade as friends. Problem shared now becomes public information.

There's a rat race going on and it's measured by fleeting wealth and nothing else true and lasting. Setbacks are mourned as a wasted life by those who should give love and genuine support. Men who rose through their friend’s magnanimity are now digging graves for such friends. So troubled man becomes a butt of jokes by those in whom he reposited his trust.

Calamities befall men and their friends shed tears in the morning and run them down at night. Adults now behave like children.
The man can’t even tell his wife because he is sure she won’t understand. He has seen her divulge little details to her family. He has heard her eulogize wealth and curse set backs as abomination. She has a little merry heart. Men now gossip like women.

The cleric can’t be trusted because he is given to flamboyant cars and lots of worldly ambition. He rates men by their earthly successes and wealth. He can’t be trusted because wealth he says, is the ultimate blessing from God. Everyday he celebrates only the rich.

So the troubled man walks around with his troubles in his heart, smiles at all the children masquerading as adults around him. One day, he would weigh it all over again and say no, it’s enough.
True and matured friends are now very scarce! No true ears to talk to in times of trouble, no honest shoulder to lay on in times of weakness.
And a culmination of all these is why depression-induced suicide is on a sad rise.

Can we all rise and fight this menace called depression in truth?
Can you work and encourage others to assume the role(s) of true friend(s)?
Can we jointly reinstate the intergrity of the quote “Problem shared is half solved”?

Stop chasing shadows as your tenure begins on May 29 – Oyo APC to Seyi Makinde

POLITICS: BY QUICKSILVER

The All Progressives Congress, Oyo State Chapter, has told the Oyo State Governor-elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to stop chasing shadows and prepare for the art of governance which will start on May 29, 2019 after the completion of the unprecedented second term in office of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The party said that it expected Engr. Makinde to be brainstorming and focus on how to further raise the bar of governance and deliver on his electoral promises instead of raising unfounded, malicious and mischievous allegations of emptying the Oyo State treasury by his spokesperson.

The Party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde explained that the mandate of Governor Ajimobi will not lapse until 12 midnight on May 28, 2019 and he is expected to perform his responsibilities as the governor of the state accordingly, stressing that Engr. Makinde should wait for his turn to govern the state at which time, he is at liberty to scrutinise the finances of the state.

Dr Olatunde said that the party would have ignored the rantings of the spokesperson of Engr. Makinde but for the sake of the general public who will be misled with the inflammatory and alarmist remarks, saying that opposition should be based on facts and issues and not mudslinging and character assassination for which the spokesperson of the Governor Elect has a track record.

He said that the vituperations credited to Engr. Makinde clearly show that the incoming team lacks a good grasp of core governance issues especially a simple one as the commencement and expiration of an administration. The APC spokesperson advised the incoming PDP Governor to devote more time to focusing on learning the art of Governance for which he is obviously ill equipped judging by his current focal point.

The APC spokesman said that the party was surprised that the governor-elect, did not deem it fit to visit the Sogoye Area of Ibadan, the venue of the collapsed building at the weekend, noting that if such an incident occurred before the elections, he would have been one of the early callers to the site.

This, Dr Olatunde opined was a demonstration of the true nature of the party and its candidate, emphasizing that it was a pointer to things to come in the state wondering if the romance between the people and Engr. Makinde has suddenly ended with his electoral victory.

Politics / Breaking:koseleri Will Always Be Koseleri by scoty2910: 5:52pm On Mar 11, 2019
Koseleri Will Always Be Koseleri

No matter what anybody or anyone says about Governor Ajimobi, he still remains the Koseleri of Oyo State. APC’s loss at the Governorship elections are not strong enough to eclipse Mr. Transformation’s pace setting achievements which will remain indelible in the annals of the history of the state. I have researched and googled, some of the things I found, include but not limited to:

1. First Governor to win a second term mandate

2. First Governor to pay 13th month salary in full for 3 years consecutively (2012, 2013 and 2014)

3. First Governor to dualise the road into major towns in Oyo State across all zones (Ibadan, Oke Ogun, Oyo, Ogbomoso and Ibarapa

4. Unprecedented eight years of peace in the state – No bank robbery, peaceful festive seasons

5. First Civilian Governor to build a flyover

6. First Governor to provide free medical services to over 1 million people across the state

7. First Governor to give interest free grants to traders

8. First Governor to build free shops to traders

9. The First Governor to introduce the Health Endowment Fund

10. First Governor to provide free mass transit bus transportation for workers and students

11. First Governor to pay 142% increase in pension

12. First Governor in Nigeria to introduce State Health Insurance Scheme

13. First Governor to establish a Technical University in Nigeria, The First Technical University, Ibadan

14. First and only Governor in South West to become the beneficiary of the World Bank assisted Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) in the South West

15. First Governor to establish an Education Trust Fund in Oyo State

16. First Governor to institute a Security Trust Fund in Oyo State

17. First Governor to give Oyo State a City Master Plan as well as the Drainage and Solid Waste Master Plan

18. First Governor to introduce the Geographic Information System in Oyo State

19. The First Governor to institute an Industrial Policy in Oyo State

20. The First Governor to introduce Electronic C of O (60 Days time Limit)

21. The First Governor to achieve a Four Star Rating of the state by NIPC

22. The First Governor to elevate Oyo State to the fourth position in investment friendliness according to Nigeria Bureau of Statistics.

22. The First Governor to introduce e-governance with payroll automation as Phase one

23. The First Governor to introduce Treasury Single Account (2011)

These well documented facts speak for themselves.

Politics / What Will Bayo Adelabu Do? | Part 4 by scoty2910: 6:48pm On Mar 05, 2019
#Kini_Bayo_Adelabu_Maa_Se? | WHAT WILL BAYO ADELABU DO? | Part 4

•EDUCATION II• For years, the Bayo Adelabu Foundation has given relief in bursaries and scholarships to a handful of Oyo state students. Apart from the fact that this is a good deed, it also serves as a vehement testament to Adebayo Adelabu staunch belief in student welfare and their right to qualitative education.

As a solution-oriented professional, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has a blueprint to ensure state-owned schools and institutions in Oyo do not suffer breaches anymore, especially as this has been made easier by steps already taken by the present government.

Adebayo Adelabu particularly believes that the idea of comfortable student loans shouldn't be a long lost idea. He says our students deserve qualitative education that can make them globally competitive and relevant, and they should be able to access loans repayable over a comfortable stretch of years, in order to remove the burden of instant payment for such qualitative education.

LESSON: With Chief Adebayo as Governor of Oyo state, our institutions will offer global standard education to focused students who aren't burdened by fees.

Re: Tinubu Bans Ajimobi – The Tree of Falsehood Grows

GEUST CONTRIBUTIONS BY QUICKSILVER

SaharaReporters seems unable to mend its ways. Instead of trying to publish what is fair and accurate, it rather grows its tales from seedlings of untruth and calumny. This online newspaper no longer bothers to offer the pretense of seeking the truth.

For SaharaReporters, whatever is sensational must be true and whatever is true must be sensational. The real truth is that SaharaReporters no longer cares if its reportage is right. SaharaReporters just cares that it is widely read. It dare not allow veracity to hamper its business model. This is a disservice to ethical journalism which honors truthful, accurate reporting.

The report titled “Tinubu Bans Ajimobi from Appearing at APC Governorship Rallies” is another of SaharaReporters’ excursions into falsehood. The report claims that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu somehow has banned Governor Abiola Ajimobi from attending APC campaigns for Saturday’s governorship election in Oyo State.

This report goes beyond a lie. It is a vindictive attempt to sow discord because the writer is angered by the APC’s success in the presidential election. Thus, the writer has cast truth aside in his angry desire to inflict some kind of electoral wound on the APC. However, the writer should refrain from this path of falsehood. It would be better for the writer to come to grips with reality and to accept the fact of the APC presidential victory and the likelihood of APC victories in most governorship elections, including that of Oyo.

The mischief that SaharaReporters cites is not between Tinubu and Ajimobi. It is solely in the mind of SaharaReporters. By its unsubstantiated report, the medium seeks to set brother against brother. Asiwaju and Governor Ajimobi have been political brothers and allies for a long time. Their friendship existed long before SaharaReporters came to the scene and will endure long after this self-diminishing online site is no more.

Moreover, Governor Ajimobi has been an excellent governor and a faithful member of the APC. He has brought progress to the state and in serving two consecutive terms, Ajimobi made history in Oyo. He is instrumental to anything the APC can achieve in Oyo. The truth is that Asiwaju is not trying to supplant or hide the governor. Instead, Asiwaju is lending his support to the governor’s and APC’s efforts in the state. They are partners not rivals.

As such, he has held strategic meetings with some notable groups and important individuals. The heart of the discussions was the need for all to come together to achieve victory for APC in the March 9 governorship poll.

At no time did the issue of banning anybody, talk less of Governor Ajimobi, enter into the discussions. We want and need Governor Ajimobi to be a visible figure at the forefront of this campaign during these final decisive days. He will prove pivotal to our hope for victory in the state.

SaharaReporters betrayed its abject bias with this report. It makes absolutely no sense to even try to stop a sitting governor from campaigning in that governor’s state. Such a move would only create enmity and hinder, not help a campaign. For SaharaReporters to claim this is to claim that Asiwaju is a political novice. Asiwaju has never barred anyone from participating in a campaign. Why would he now start with Ajimobi in Ajimobi’s own state?

In addition to not having such a negative inclination, Asiwaju wields no such power and has no desire to have such power. Ajimobi is a sitting governor who can travel his state as he pleases. Who can dare stop him? We want him in and at the rallies.

Asiwaju’s intervention in Oyo was to engender genuine reconciliation. To exclude this good and able governor would have aborted this mission before it started.

Asiwaju views Governor Ajimobi as highly disciplined and a committed and respected party leader, unlike some others who have no respect for party supremacy. The relationship between them remains solid and loyal. And one hundred false reports by one hundred SaharaReporters cannot change that reality.

AJANAKU RETURNS TO APC, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR ADELABU

Less than two months after joining the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku, has returned to his old party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This development was made public after he made the disclosure at a press conference which took place at his Dino Hotel, Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado, Ibadan today.

His return to the APC is also apt in terms of timing as he has also declared support for the Governorship ambition of the APC Guber candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.

Ajanaku had sought to fly the flag of the APC, to represent Ibadan North West/ South West federal constituency of Oyo State.

He added that he would reconcile with outgoing incumbent Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi since he had forgotten the past and is forging ahead into the future which is looking bright.

Massive gang up ahead of Oyo governorship

It has come to the attention of the APC in Oyo state of the gang up plan among opposition members to embark on campaign of calumny against the governorship candidate of the APC, Bayo Adelabu. Some of the weapons to be employed include deliberate spread of rumours and outright falsehoods. The aim is to alienate the people and also cause disharmony between Adelabu and Gov Ajimobi and their teeming supporters in the state.

Politics / Breaking:Ajimobi Promises Effective,Efficient Representation In Senate by scoty2910: 12:58pm On Feb 14, 2019
AJIMOBI PROMISES EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT REPRESENTATION IN SENATE POLITICS

BY QUICKSILVER

Oyo South Senatorial District candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has promised efficient and effective representation that will impact on the district and rub off on the entire Southwest region.

The governor made the promise when he led the party’s supporters on a road show through major areas of Ibadan, the state capital, on Wednesday.

On the campaign trail were the governorship candidate of the party, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, party leaders and candidates vying for different offices in the general election.

Ajimobi again used the occasion to urge the electorate in the state to vote en masse for President Muhammadu Buhari, Adelabu and other APC candidates in the elections.

As a senator who once served as a principal officer in the Upper Chamber, as well as the first two-term governor in the state, Ajimobi said that he was in a good stead to offer the best possible representation.

Having garnered enormous goodwill and respect within the top echelon of the APC and the progressives family since his foray into politics, the governor said that his vast network would be in the people’s best interest.

Ajimobi said, “You know us very well and you know the APC major challengers in the coming election like the back of your hand. We are the progressives and you know that we stand for the promotion of the welfare of the people.

“The APC remains the best option for a country still battling to recover from the 16 years of crass ineptitude and misapplication of funds. We should not entrust this fragile economy in the hands of those who will use our commonwealth to enrich their friends.

“I’m soliciting your support to vote for President Muhahmmadu Buhari and all of us contesting in this election under the platform of our great party. Only the APC has what it takes to take our country to the next level of development.

“Today, the Senate has become a place where states desirous of rapid development send their best hands. Send me and I promise you effective and efficient that will not only impact on Oyo South, but rub off on the entire South West.”

For eight years, the governor said that he unleashed infrastructural revolution on the state, which brought it at par with other major cities across the country, vowing to attract greater development to the state, if elected senator.

Politics / Wait,Why Ajimobi For Senate? by scoty2910: 3:09pm On Feb 13, 2019
*WAIT, WHY AJIMOBI FOR SENATE? 10 reasons | Akinsiku Oladayo *

To be very honest, when I first heard about Governor Abiola Ajimobi's senatorial bid, even as a fan of the man, still, I was like, "really? Kilode now??". That was my very human reaction to it; that "wetin-ajimobi-dey-find-again" feeling. I was like that for weeks until I actually calmed my emotive feelings, and actually just thought about it, this time, logically. Since I came up with these 10 reasons I'm about to share below, I've been a believer in that mandate. Let's go.

1. Abiola Ajimobi's towering experience is something one can't just miss. Even when one tries to argue it, his towering experience is just up there for all to see and appreciate. He's served years in both the private sector and public offices. There's no other reason that beats the this particular reason. My dad once told me, anyone who argues against experience, or argues against the potency of experience, is worse than a fool.

2. I mean, why should we in Oyo south miss the opportunity to employ a vastly experienced representative with their votes? No reason beats this; in fact, every other 'thought' against this fact is just sentiment, if we won't deceive ourselves. He knows the legislature, knows the executive, understands the judiciary - a trio of advantage a Governor of his caliber must have mastered.

3. Ajimobi is vocal, bold and actually very loaded. He is vastly read as most of us have come to know from his many engaging speeches. We've all experienced this. He is the kind of Senator who will speak in the red chamber and people will listen.

4. Candidly, someone of the caliber in number three (3) above will not only be a Senator of Oyo south; by his audible and laudable contributions in that red chamber, everyone will know a Senator from Oyo state.

5. He is a workaholic with a no-nonsense "must-be-done" character towards work. Ask his cabinet members, in fact, they "fear" him for this. So, trust me, Ajimobi won't be the SLEEPING SENATOR.

6. He is a welfarist who loves developing human capital too. Even his enemies/opponents can attest to this very popular fact about Ajimobi - he gives and raises opportunities for people to grow. And this is why anyone should already "envy" constituents of Oyo south considering what they are in for per welfare and human capital development.

7. He also possesses a development mindset, not a merely political mindset. Let's just check out Oyo state today as compared to before - a jarring face-lift has happened. The furtherance of infrastructural development that will keep driving socioeconomic growth in Oyo-South is ensured in his candidacy.

8. Synergy. The abundance of advantage that will be birthed from the synergy of effort from an APC executive Governor in Adelabu and an APC Senator in Governor Ajimobi is very rich. If we start to count this, we may unnecessarily lengthen this post.

9. He is a leadership mastermind. The quality of leadership Ajimobi will provide in Senate will make us proud in Oyo state generally. How do I know this? Just check out the way he has been consistently deployed as a natural leader in the Nigeria Governor's forum and within the APC.

10. He was one of the few Senators who stood firm AGAINST the corruptible third-term bid of Obasanjo in 2007 despite the pressure, even though he was from the southwest. This proves one thing - and that is Ajimobi's legislative worth and value.

Two teachers, you need to employ one to teach your kids mathematics. The first teacher has taught kids here, there, and anywhere successfully and his famous for it; the second teacher has not, but promises to deliver. Who will you employ, having the opportunity of choice and not driven by sentiment The first? Yeah, I thought has much.

In truth, Governor Abiola Ajimobi is a great shot at purposeful representation for Oyo south, and excellent legislation in the 9th senate that we Oyo state citizens will be proud of.

In truth.

Politics / Congent Reasons Why Ajimobi Should Be Supported by scoty2910: 9:23am On Feb 13, 2019
My Cogent Reasons for Supporting Abiola Ajimobi’s Senatorial Bid

“Rome was not built in a day. But those that built Rome did not stop working for a day”- Abiola Ajimobi (replying a question during a Splash FM interview)

From being a schoolboy at Lagelu Grammar School to becoming the Governor at Agodi. Senator Abiola Ajimobi has obviously paid his dues during his walk through life. Born in a family with good reputation , Sen. Abiola Ajimobi has proved himself and his worth time and again in both the private sector and public sector.

The list of his achievements are quite lengthy and they are visible to those who do not let politics of hatred blind their eyes. He has served as a senator for 4 years and as a Governor for 8 years. He intends to run for the Senate again. Some have argued that this is an abuse of power or an obsession for power. But it is because they are shortsighted.

Governor Ajimobi having served as a Governor knows where the shoe pinches. He knows enough about True Federalism and what is really affecting the development of states in Nigeria. He can use his background of experience as a Governor to push progressive legislation that will ensure Oyo State gets a better foothold in the country and that the concerns of restructuring are duly accessed and evaluated.

Also, if Oyo State is thinking of having much influence and setting the pace within the next 4 years, it will be best to vote a Senator from our state who will not get there and become a boy to the rest of the Senate without any influence. What Oyo State needs in the senate is someone with influence and standing who would be of high respect and can by so doing attract good development to the state.

If we vote for these people who no one knows nationally, they will not have enough influence in the next parliament as they will only vote to make up the numbers but will have no voice. Thus, they will be there but we will not see what they are doing except for cosmetic consistuency projects.

The period of past active Public service rendered by Sen. Ajimobi is more of a strength than what the opposition is making it appear as. It is not desire for naked power but rather the love for the people.

Sen. Abiola Ajimobi during his service as Governor did well enough even though the opposition because they desire his office will always try to spin the narrative against him. Each time they have tried, they have failed. Shehu has always come out on top and this will happen again on Saturday in Oyo North.

Experience, intelligence and honesty which are the hallmarks of a true leader are to be found in a person like Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.

Let us vote a man with national influence who can attract enviable pacesetting progress to Oyo State and who will not be just another number but a real figure in the Senate.

Dimeji Obisesan is for Ajimobi. 100 percent.

Politics / Count Adelabu Out Of Violence-APC by scoty2910: 5:39pm On Feb 07, 2019
*Opposition jealous of APC crowd of supporters; Adelabu is a man of peace, not violence - Oladejo*

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan North West Local Government, Mr Toyese Oladejo, has condemned those accusing the Party and its Governorship Candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, of having anything to do with the pockets of violence that have rocked some of the political rallies in Oyo state.

Oladejo, in a statement issued in Iseyin at the continuation of the party’s state wide campaign, maintained that the State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the Governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu are peace lovers who would not tolerate acts of brigandage.

He averred that the politically motivated violence in some of the party’s rallies were masterminded by the opposition, who he said are hideously jealous of the rousing acceptance enjoyed by the APC at their rallies.

“It is crystal clear that the skirmishes at some of our rallies were caused by our opponents who were surprised by the mammoth crowd that always thronged our rallies at the shortest possible times. It is not rational and illogical for our party to cause crisis where we are the one holding rallies”, he insisted.

"Moreover, it is the APC that brought the celebrated peace into Oyo state by stopping this same acts of brigandage and violence that was a staple in our cities before. So, where is the logic in bringing it back. The opposituon are just hideously jealous", Oladejo stressed.

The Party Chieftain stated further that while the APC was busy campaigning vigorously for votes across the state, the opposition were engaging in unwarranted blackmailing and rumour mongering.

He, therefore, urged the electorate and the general public to disregard the allegation, stressing that they are only afraid of imminent huge electoral loss.

Oladejo further called on the electoral umpire, INEC, to conduct free and fair polls saying ‘the APC believes in "credible polls”.

Politics / The Ajimobi You Didn’t Know by scoty2910: 11:55pm On Feb 05, 2019
By Tolani Alli.

Today (Tuesday 5th February 2019) , I saw two things.

I’d explain...

1: I saw kindess in its real unadulterated form. The type of kindness you see when there’s no one watching. Only that this time impulse didn’t allow ‘Senator Abiola’ know I was there.

2) To be candid, I've always known and gotten used to the 'Governor Abiola Ajimobi'; today, I eventually saw just the Abiola. The father, brother, manager and the Abiola not known to many. I was privileged to see it first hand.

As we headed back to Ibadan from the APC Presidential campaign held in Ekiti State, our convoy encountered an accident in Iwo Road, involving 2 people already clad in blood.

Gory sight for anyone.

Now, the Governor Abiola Ajimobi I've come to know in the time I've documented him, not very often likes the sight of blood. If he had his way, he usually avoid such sights.

This is why his next choice of action today at that spot gave me proper shock. I was stunned to the marrow.

My boss did not only tell our convoy to stop in order to attend to the victims, more than that, he was literally practically involved in the efforts to lift them into one of the Hilux vehicles in our convoy.

Abiola was down to see and analyze the situation himself. He didn’t leave it to his ADC, the ever reliable Olopa Odubela or Dayo his PA.

He came down, perused and took the initiative that would inspire this write up.

He breached his seemingly tight schedule and led our convoy, bearing these victims, to the emergency unit of the University College Hospital, all the while showing that unadulterated fatherly worry in his eyes.

He kept asking ‘Se won sín mí (Are they still breathing?

Abiola stood right there engaging the doctor and nurses on ground as they ensured the victims were stabilized and given treatment.

At this point, it came as no surprise to me and our team that he paid all the medical fees for these particular victims and other patients we met there at the Emergency ward.

Typical of him, he spoke encouraging words to the patients and medical practitioners too.

The genuineness in the air as all this happened was impossible to miss, and what struck most was the human kindness on display.

This was Baba Ajijola on display.
I was awed.

While it may not be utterly strange that this happened, what makes this just noteworthy for me is the uncommon nature of it.

Abiola took further steps than we are used to (hear) in similar situation, going all the way without bating an eye for any other thing, talkless his own time. He just wanted those victims okay.

I am more than ever inspired by this random, spontaneous and unadulterated act of compassion of my boss today. And, I share this in the hope that you will too.

Politics / APC From Top To Bottom by scoty2910: 5:22pm On Jan 26, 2019
#PMBInOyo: “APC from top to bottom”, President Buhari declares as he presents party flag to Adelabu in Ibadan

NEWS BY QUICKSILVER

In the presence of a record-making crowd at the Mapo Hall venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ibadan, President Muhammadu has enjoined the people of Oyo state to ensure they vote for the ruling party across board in the upcoming elections, this, just after presenting the party’s flag to the state’s gubernatorial candidate, Adebayo Adelabu.

In a famously characteristic way, the President signaled to the people as he repeatedly echoed “APC from top to bottom”, to a rousing cheer of the crowd.

Amidst a slew of promises to consolidate the gains of the past four years in the next four, President Buhari said that a vote for him at the federal level, plus a vote for Adebayo Adelabu and all other APC candidates will not only foster this consolidation of good governance, but it will also fasten it.

Just like it happened in 2015, another iconic crowd met the Presidential campaign train at Mapo, such that as early as 7am, the Bere and Idi Arere route to the Mapo Hall HD become a beehive of activities, with a horde of citizens and party faithful moved in droves to the venue.

The undisputed king of Fuji Music, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde KWAM 1, was on hand dishing out different numbers to the pleasure and admiration of the mammoth crowd, creating a great momentum ahead of the President’s arrival.

At exactly 12.10pm, the campaign train landed at the venue to shouts of Sai Baba Next Level, The Director General of the Presidential Campaign Organization, Rotimi Amaechi mounted the rostrum with an appeal to the electorate in the state to troop out with their PVC to vote massively for the APC assuring them that the country would be the better for it in all ramification.

In his own words, Governor Ajimobi used biblical allegory to highlight the difference between APC from the PDP.

“It’s a difference between light and darkness, between accountability and impunity, between hope and hopelessnees, between security and insecurity, between truthfulness and lies. This is why I admonish us to keep our PVCs and vote massively for the APC in all the elections begining from February 16, next month”, Ajimobi enthused in his characteristic humourous and blunt style.

Other speakers at the rally included, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s national Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, VP Professor Yemi Osinbajo, all who echoed the need for the people to vote en masse for the APC at all levels to prevent the disruption of good governance.

A major highlight of the rally however remains the moment when President Buhari presented the party’s flag to the Adebayo Adelabu, a moment which drew a tumultous applause from the crowd. It happened to be the gubernatorial candidate’s state with history, as it was there, the same Mapo Hall, that was the seat of Ibadan Municipal Government where his grandfather, the Late Chief Olasupo Adegoke Oduola Adelabu, ruled with so much admiration and was loved for his pragmatic and proactive leadershilp which centred on the wellbeing of the people.

Politics / Oyo 2019: Beyond Continuity,Why Bayo Adelabu Will Be Voted For by scoty2910: 11:19am On Jan 17, 2019
Oyo 2019: Beyond continuity, these other 7 reasons are why Bayo Adelabu will be voted for to win!

1. To be fair, Bayo Adelabu is the most competent. No need to argue this. Have you seen his CV

2. To be frank, he is also the most experienced regarding both public and private service at the highest level(s).

3. To be factual, he is the most invested in Ibadan and Oyo state amongst the candidates, sacrificing the most in the process. Everyone knows this.

4. Oyo state people, both urban and suburban, are smart enough to recognize (1,2 & 3) above and will vote accordingly.

5. Seyi Makinde doesn't have the clout, this fact has been made clear 3 times by the people of Oyo state already. Now, he's not helping his chances by getting deep into political propaganda at the expense of issues.

6. Lanlehin is old, not necessarily in age, but in ideas. Apologies to Baba. But, Oyo state cannot afford to persistently queue behind Lagos in the quality of leadership.

7. Oyo state won't miss this chance to make a statement that we are not fools. Oyo state people won't choose balanced diet over raw beans because of political sentiments. Bayo Adelabu is sound. Very sound. We need to take that to the bank...and the polls.

Politics / Massive Crowd Supports Adebayo Adelabu,As Ajimobi Declares by scoty2910: 7:40pm On Jan 15, 2019
Vote most-experienced Adebayo Adelabu, Ajimobi declares

BY QUICKSILVER

The Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has enjoined the people of Oyo state to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu as the next Governor of the state because of his ranking experience.

The Governor declared this today at the party’s inaugural gubernatorial rally in Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency, adding that none of the other candidates possess the level of experience that the former CBN Deputy-Governor possesses, especially regarding core issues of governance and public service.

“We cannot afford to place governance in the hands of the inexperienced. Governance is not rocket science, but still, it must not be given to people who haven’t had a taste of what it takes to govern at the topmost level”, Ajimobi said.

“This is why we thought deeply in our party before choosing this man as our candidate and our next Governor in Oyo state. He is the most-experienced amongst all the candidates, and he is young. We are blessed to have him.”

‘Our party has done well in Oyo state, to the disappointment and detriment of naysayers. In fact, most of our projects have been next level in nature. This is why you have to vote in someone who has the experience and clout to understand these things and take it all even further”, the Governor echoed.

The candidate himself, Bayo Adelabu, while speaking to the carnival-like audience, thanked the party, APC, for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Oyo state. He went further to thank the people for trooping out in their numbers, assuring them of excellence in the delivery of his role when they vote him in as their Governor on the 2nd of March, 2019.

Crime / 6 Viewpoints From Sunday’s Mayhem At Idi-Arere,Ibadan by scoty2910: 8:45pm On Jan 07, 2019
6 Viewpoints from Sunday’s Mayhem at Idi-Arere | Thoughts of a Keen Observer

GUEST CONTRIBUTIONS BY QUICKSILVER

1. Community Heads and Leaders must come forward more to cooperate with existing government structures for security. Most of these rival gangs thrive or not based on the inaction or participation of their host communities towards entrenching security. To unmask these ill-breds fast, the communities must get involved better.

2. Deliberately misinforming the people poses one of the most potent source of insecurity to lives and property in any city. And, it is high time we said NO to how politicians milk occurrences like this one for their desperate desires by misinforming the people. A Seyi Makinde for example should know better than crying foul at this moment to gain political mileage – that’s wicked, unfair and inconsiderate to the victims.

3. CCTV is NOT instantly preventive. While we MUST condole with the loss suffered by the people, we should know that installing CCTVs at this hot spots will not IMMEDIATELY prevent crimes totally. However, what these CCTVs will do immediately and totally is punitive, and help the security agencies in their investigations leading to arresting the culprits. That is a certainty assured by what the CCTVs capture 24/7. Eventually, this greater assurance of punishment is what will then help discourage crime and lead to prevention of it. This is the education everyone, including opposition politicians, should be giving the populace, not misinform them for selfish reasons.

4. It will be utterly mischievous to berate the present government’s success on security in Oyo state, using one act of sheer recklessness from community-bred gangs. The fact that Ibadan, and Oyo state, has moved past the stain of chronic insecurity and violence within the past 8 years is a globally-acclaimed fact; anyone who thinks or says otherwise must suffer from pathological amnesia/memory loss. The Idi-Arere, Oja-‘gbo, Popoyemoja, etc, that we have today, are definitely NOT the terse ones we had then.

5. We citizens must allow the Operation Burst outfit do their job without disruption from emotional sentiments. A section of the populace towed the path of emotion and “complained” about their no-nonsense method the last time they rounded up these boys. We must NOT be seen to indirectly abet the delinquence of these gangs. The government powered Operation Burst for a reason, these reasons.

6. After arresting and arraigning the culprits from today’s mayhem, the government must not rest on their oars; they MUST and put all hands on deck to ensure these rival gangs are sought to their nook and crooks. We need to find a way to totally discourage nuisance culture from our land.

Thank you.

Politics / #The Ajimobi Years- Infrastructure by scoty2910: 1:54pm On Dec 19, 2018
#TheAjimobiYears - INFRASTRUCTURE (Roads)

Functional road infrastructure is an undebatable component in building a modern state. In the past 6 to 7 years in our Oyo state, we can visibly see the quantum leap in this regard. Unarguably, Oyo state has seen its best in road infrastructure under the Ajimobi Years

Here are the facts:

1. There are 61.59km stretch of better quality and improved network of dualized roads within Ibadan today.

2. There are 334 roads and 7 bridges totaling about 590 km have been constructed at the last quarter of 2017.

3. The Transformation Flyover in Mokola, and the Restoration Bridge in Bodija and the ongoing IBADAN CIRCULAR ROAD project, all serve as major infrastructural landmarks in Ibadan..

4. All major entry roads into major cities in Oyo state, have been dualized; we've got six (6) of such roads, totaling 55.6km. [Ibadan, Iseyin, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Saki].

5. 1236.5km cumulative stretch of road network are undergoing either construction or rehabilitation across Oyo state at the moment..

6. Examples Include: Eleyele-Ologuneru-Eruwa; Idi-Ape-Basorun-Akobo-Odogbo; Gate-Old Ife-Alakia; Oke Adu- Iwo Road; SEKONI-OKELERIN road in Ogbomoso; SAKI-IBARIBA road construction.

7. A cumulative 201.105km single carriageway roads were built in Ibadan alone.

8. An ongoing road maintenance drive across the state has seen the spate of facelift for a handful of roads, both inner and major roads.

9. Of the close to 2,000 kilometers of roads reportedly built by the present administration in Oyo state over the past 6 years, an impressive chunk of it are a network of urban and rural roads outside the state capital.

10. The major highways that have been newly constructed and/or reconstructed in major cities within Oyo state have opened new economic windows therein.

11. The rural roads in their own right have seriously boosted agricultural productivity by creating ease of access as they were constructed to lead to expansive farmlands, and hence, removing the bottleneck of poor accessibility.

12. Also, the rural roads are (being) constructed in direct cooperation with the LGAs, deploying direct labour (in other words, contracted to locals) and thus, keeping the economic impact within each zone.

The ongoing impact of the infrastructural drive of the Ajimobi-led Oyo state government on the socioeconomic development of our towns and cities is nothing short of impressive.

Having doubts? Well, have a fill below in the comment section.
