The boat left the jetty at 9pm. In Nigeria that is already a suicide attempt. If they have an emergency at that time of the night how will they be evacuated?

There is an imminent crisis coming and it worries me. Tinubu has to take charge before muslim fasting commences. I see the north starting a major uprising then. what could fuel this crisis is the increment in Electricity, Gas and PETROL.
Things are quite expensive and there is serious hardship in the land. Also if i where the president i will limit external travels. A coup could occur with the loud support of the north and silent support of the East. Wahala dey come ooo. DSS take note

Thank you for your thought provoking analysis.

I like how the unofficial language in the squad is pigin. And also how they play gyration and street songs. That's why I clamour for players who came out of Nigeria like Nwabali and Osimhen.

With the recent clamour for foreign born players, I fear that the soul of the eagles will be lost someday. But I hope not.

Why do you think that with the invitation of players born abroad the soul of the team will be destroyed? I am actually very happy to see that our foreign born players participate in everything done in the super Eagles camp. They even attempt to speak some words of pidgin and you can see the interaction between the players does not reflect who was born abroad Vs who was born in Nigeria.

How about the woman at the airport the other day? We are used to reacting after an incident that's why most things don't work. This minister who seems like he wants to do do the right thing (and I support him) must go beyond investigation and sacking.

About time a total overhaul of the immigration department is carried out and fresh recruitment embarked upon.

Sports / Super Stores Honour 1973 African Games Heroes. Sanni Mohammed in tears by Shinor(m): 5:33am On Oct 05, 2023
By Kunle Solaja

“The labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain” is a line in the Nigerian national anthem. However, the seven living members and dependants of the other 13 footballers of the 20-man Green Eagles that won the gold medal of the 2nd All Africa Games in 1973 may not agree.

Fifty years down the line, they were never recognised since their historic feat. The gold medal of the 1973 All Africa Games was the first continental honours that Nigeria got in football.

What the players got was just a photo-shoot opportunity and breakfast with the Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon. Sadly, since their feat 50 years ago, no Nigerian team has been able to win the All Africa Games gold medal.

After 50 years, Stationery Stores FC that had three players in the squad decided to honour their trio of Haruna Ilerika, Yakubu Mambo and Sanni Mohammed – Stationery Stores’ players at the time – along with the rest of the team.

Verokeena:
Good afternoon Nl family
Please pardon my epistle

My husband lost his job two years ago and ever since he has been so reluctant on getting another.. not to brag but I can say I have been the one keeping the family going ever since the job incidence (not like I ever complained) .

What I noticed about him is he now drinks and smokes and he is always hissing (obviously he is not happy and I try to always console him just to elate his Spirit)

Fast forward to last two months.. I got back from work and I was very tired.. I had to go pick the kids from school , bathe them, feed them and to make matters worst I wasn't feeling too alright .. (when I got home he (my husband) wasn't at home)

When I was done with the kids and fixing the house I was so tired I thought to myself to take a lil nap that was how I slept off (and this was around 9pm) ..

He got back around 10pm obviously drunk and smelling like a skunk.. he went straight to the kitchen. That was how the whole problem started.. first was insult.. then my phone, smashed it on the ground later my clothes he started tearing them .. saying all those things he was destroying was why I was feeling untouchable that he knows I have male friends sleeping with me..

I tried securing my items so he doesn't destroy more things that was how he pounced on me..

The next day I got him arrested he spent two days there.. but now I feel so guilty... He doesn't talk to me anymore.. I have apologized times without number

I don't just know what to do...

Nb: even while he was there I was still taking food to him

And he was eating the food......Wahala dey O

not really.. I guess I just feel ashamed of the situation I’m in. But then I ask myself how hard will it be to find someone else.. especially with a child?

I think you're focusing on the wrong thing. Your thought at this time should not be finding love, but rebuilding yourself emotionally and mentally, bettering yourself in terms of a career and earning power and loving yourself.

If you walk into another relationship in this deflated state, you will just end up being used and abused again.

Air Peace does not have the A 380. Just thought to correct that.

Air Peace ought to be made the national carrier instead of the government wasting money to set up a new airline. They have more than enough planes to run a good schedule.

How do you know who she voted for? It's really sad that hatred will deprive you of the ability to reason.
If you want to attack the election go ahead.
But dont drag the woman's vote into to it. How are you sure she didn't vote Obi? Or is it just one tribe that voted Obi?
It's so sad that you cannot be objective for once. By thinking like this you're unknowingly supporting people who are describing Obi as a tribal and sectional leader and he is isn't but people like you are a disgrace to Peter Obi.

But recently God just answered my prayer again by giving me a male child but most of my friends that they gave birth then ehn thier children are now Abt 11/12 years but mine is just 2months old baby 😢😭

Am not really happy with it but what can I do ?

So because your friends kids are 11 and 12 years old and yours is just 2 months old you are unhappy?
What if you have not given birth at all up til now how would you feel?
Why do people like comparing themselves to others ? While your friends kept their pregnancy, you aborted yours. Now you are unhappy that their children are older than yours. You're such a bitter soul.

Tribalism people, everybody vote your own.

Don't quote me foolishly, Have you seen Atiku gather all our emir's for anything?, or even Obi has he gathered all the igwes for anything.

Yorubas are very tribalistic.

Vote Atiku, defeat the tribalists.

Atiku is coming

You are one of them. Your statement shows it. How can you say Yorubas are very tribalistic. While trying to highlight something you commit the same error.
So there are no Yorubas supporting Obi and Atiku?
If you want to attack the tribalists that gathered in Oyo State please address those . Do not generalise.
So Pa Adesanya of Afenifere who endorsed Obi is not a Yoruba or Obasanjo too us not Yoruba?

The Boss and his right hand man.

A lot of ignorant folks who don't know about elections say that Fashola is absent from the campaigns and hence is not supporting Asiwaju and other blah...blah...blah.

What they fail to realize is that Fashola is heading one of the most important, if not the most important aspect of the campaign which is Election Planning, Election Monitoring and Compliance.

This department is responsible for all activities that happens on voting day and Asiwaju could only give such assignment to the most competent hand he knew.

Another very important department is Stakeholder relations headed by Nuhu Ribadu and seconded by Sen. Folasade Grace Bent. The underground work they are doing to sell Asiwaju's candidacy (especially to convince Northern Christians) is commendable.

You're in the know. Their efforts are commendable but yet to have that impact. As someone who sounds very knowledgeable about the BAT camp, the north remains a thorny issue.
Career / Re: How I Almost Died Working At A Construction Site by Shinor(m): 5:31pm On Jan 17, 2023
HeRulesMen:
I don't know if this is the right section to post this, if not, mod please take it to the right section.

My online brothers and sisters, help me thank God for preserving my life as I almost left this wicked world last Friday, 13th January, 2023. 13th January has become a day I will never forget in life. Since I graduated from the university, I am yet to get a job that is well-deserving of my status. I'm not talking about big jobs with heavy remuneration (not as though I won't grab it if I see one of such) but just something to earn a living from. The last salaried job I did was a contract job which lasted only 6 months. Since then, despite my efforts, applying to every nook and cranny to land a job, I have been unlucky. However, I still keep hope alive.

However, it makes me think Nigeria really need to redefine and re-axamine the value of education in the country and what it stands for. Does it stand for nation building or for frustration? That is something for another day BTW.

Back to the topic, so with a woman and two kids to take care of, I had to go do labourer job at a construction site to earn something. That Friday was my second day in the place. I never thought it would end in disaster but I thank God that even after falling from such a distance, I didn't die, neither the mason man that was on the scaffold.

The thing is that I was carrying mortar and blocks to the mason, climbing using ladder. You know this local scaffold builders use. That thing they nailed together as V 'abi' L, place them on the wall and put planks on top to stand on. I don't know what happened that the blocks put at one end to weigh its balance failed while I was already up there. Long story short, everything collapsed and that was how we landed on the ground from the finishing end of the building. It should be a distance of 12 feet or more.

What worsened the case was the mason. As the scaffold collapsed, he immediately and unconsciously grabbed the newly laid blocks in safety attempt, not remembering he just laid those blocks. You know that kind thing. Landing on ground, that was how those blocks came upon us in their number like some sort of blast. To top it all, I didn't earn a penny that day. The man is even blaming us for the collapse.

I sustained injuries but my waist especially seems to have dislocated as a result of hitting it on ground while landin. I have been feeling sharp pains from the inside since then.

Since that Friday, I have been down physically and psychologically. As I am reflecting on it today, I decided to write it down.

No matter how it has affected me, physically, psychologically, economically and health-wise, I still thank God for sparing my life and I want you to join me in thanking him.

Thank you for reading also.

What is your account number? I have seen it. Done. Manage it.
