Syenite:

My dear the Yorubas called for it. They are fond of picking on d igbos. This Aba today Aba tomorrow rubish has to stop. Let me give them a taste of their own pills. angry

You are not doing ANYTHING new with this. There have been threads where someone tried to raise issue with regards to roads or something of the sort in a South western state, and before long, people were posting pictures of Aba and other places in the south east, as if that had anything to do with it. This back and forth bickering is sickening and hinders us from targetting leaders, no wonder they get away with murder. I mean, is this all Nigeria has to offer, online Igbo Yoruba fights?? No hour is complete on this forum without some thread degenerating into on of these petty and ridiculously childish skirmishes. And what is most disappointing, is that the most vocal of the bunch actually live abroad (some have never even been to Nigeria). I really can't understand it, it really is confounding. Some people will call it "tribalism" to make themselves feel better since in their own head it is not as bad as racism.

How did Aba turn to Ibadan? The bickering between the WA and the BIA of this WAZOBIA crap has passed the point of genuinely being nauseating, I have never seen such childishness in all my life. And to think many of these nairaland posters have families is even more worrying, how on earth are those kids going to come out normal?! Seun please consider making a WABIA section of this forum where all such threads can be moved and let the rest of us know peace - this is not all there is to Nigeria! Alternatively, any one know of any good Nigerian forums where intelligent exchanges are possible should let me know - seriously. Need to take some months off this madness, what a racist bunch.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Donald Trump Offers Obama $5Million In Exchange For College Records by Sky Blue: 11:10pm On Oct 24, 2012
pro01: A self-important, narcissistic, and attention-seeking billionaire is always going to be a big problem that has no real solution. Great wealth in itself often confers prominence and attracts unnecessary attention to it's owner, no matter how reticent. How then do you deal with a publicity-loving billionaire who actively, creatively, and routinely shops for attention - with a bottomless pit of money in his purse? He is always going to be in your face, and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it. That is the nature of the Donald Trump problem.

"Shops for attention"? Is that some sort of euphemism? Donald Trump is a media w.hore, no two ways about it. He might actually die if everybody chose to ignore him. He lives in his own world of self importance where even God comes to his office to consult decisions before hand. He is just something else, it would have been funny if it wasn't so utterlly irritating, and the fact that people choose to give him attention.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Donald Trump Offers Obama $5Million In Exchange For College Records by Sky Blue: 6:52pm On Oct 24, 2012
Some people ascribe too much importance to themselves, there is narcissism and there is Donald Trump. I REALLY am not trying to take a dig at this man (REALLY), but he might have a psychological problem. I am too tired to go into his antecedents but COME ON. The reason he and people of his type shouldn't even be indulged is simply because NOTHING Obama does will ever be enough to convince them, nothing. They believe what they believe and that is it, move on.

Gosh if you watched this man speaking throughout the republican primaries you would have thought EVERYBODY goes to him for advice before they decide to contest because he is so important.

Honestly speaking, Maiduguri he was flying from practises sharia. If they decide to do public flogging I wouldn't mind watching him flogged properly, I mean can you imagine? I am just putting myself in the shoes of the people on that plane and I am quite outraged to be frank! What did innocent passengers do to boko haram? NASS should summon the executive and demand updates to this so called 'war on terror' because honestly speaking the idea that we have even started considering bombing internal flights is very worrying. What has happened with all the people that have or were meant to have been arrested? Does governors and so called senators that were reported to be entangled in the whole brouhaha. . .

Abeg any other source? This is not funny. Did the passengers at least touch him up a little? Because if that was me in that plane I don't know if I wouldn't have joined in. Can you imagine? This is a very dangerous precedence o

Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Sky Blue: 4:35am On Oct 23, 2012
Belovedd: The point is, will this debate change the mind of decided voters? I say No!
The main target now are undecided voters, but are they going to vote based on foreign policies or on Economic poilicies?

That is the thing people are failing to see. Obama was going to get the votes he was going to get anyway. That first debate DID NOT help Obama AT ALL, it was a mistake. Romney was unmanageable before the first debate, after the first debate he became manageable by his base and that changed the dynamics of the race that saw Obama losing a strong lead over Romney. It is all down to Independents, and no folks, they are not all black. Anyway, a lot could change in two weeks. But just going by this debate, if there was to be an election tomorrow Obama might win but not by the margin many people assume.

Kay-Dee:

People who ardently watch faux news are never going to vote Obama anyway.

LOL. The thing ain't black and white. If I was using that same logic I would say the same for CNN and co with regards to propensity towards Obama. It is still possible to have people with conservative views who are independents you know . .
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Sky Blue: 4:21am On Oct 23, 2012
ogugua88:

You think so?

There just isn't any point deceiving ourselves, let us look at this thing properly. You might see Fox news as heavily biased but they have a huge viewership. Independents don't only watch CNN and CBS.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Sky Blue: 4:17am On Oct 23, 2012
Let us be fair, Fox news probably has more viewers than CNN, what do their polls say?

my parents did not waste money on my education and i have been doing researches on these candidates, rem that Romney has been running from 8 years and he has said so many things in that time,so what do we believe? or which romney do we believe

I have heard you, move it along please.

what world do you live in
The man has been accused of being a serial flip-flopper
he has flip flopped all through the debates and ANOTHER WORD FOR A FLIP-FLOPPER IS A LIAR

This thing has more nuances. It is not necessarily about Romney idealism but more about Anti Obama sentiment. America woke up a couple of years ago and realised they actually elected Obama. Romney might be bad, but he is manageable with the Anti Obama camp. The Republican camp has run on making Obama a one term president. This thing isn't so straightforward. Obama had to make Romney look unmanageable, he didn't. Romney came out not as bad as YOU think he did. Trust me on that. Romney even made sense on China.

omo,u get winch, how u know say i get big nose

I no talk say you get big nose. Romney was smart in this debate, fashi how you feel things went, Romney knew what he was doing. Obama could have done a tad better to be honest. Romney had SO MANY foreign policy gaffes to go after. Romney said something like ' the middle east is a lost cause'. Then less we forget the series of gaffes from Olympics, to Poland to Israel that Romney gaffed through. Obama could also have made it MORE apparent that Romney was presenting NO novel ideas with many things he was saying (from Iran to Israel). The list is endless. Obama had a chance to attempt resetting Romney's image to pre-first debate levels as the naive buffoon. He didn't quite get there.

Don't care about the republican or democratic party, but it really is scary to imagine a Romney presidency in America of all nations that is hugely influential in the world.

omo,go back and smoke more weed if u smoke any and if not, better start smoking some cos no be d same debate we we watch, obama fried romney.romney virtually agreed with obama on everything

For once try and see beyond your nose. Read again. It is not about what you alone think. That first debate was what Romney needed, he showed people who would have had a tendency towards him (for many reasons which I wouldn't go into) that he was manageable as a candidate. They WILL go with that.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Sky Blue: 3:33am On Oct 23, 2012
Hmm. Romney didn't come out as bad as he could have. Obama has a real fight on his hands come election day. It is not about debating well. Obama was on a high before because Romney's base (who wouldn't have voted for Obama anyway) thought Romney was unelectable with all the gaffes. Now he is seeming bad, but manageable, and they will go with that. This debate won't change much. Obama could have done better.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Vs Romney: US Presidential Debate On Tuesday October 23 2012 by Sky Blue: 3:22am On Oct 23, 2012
Romney making more sense on China. He handled that quite well. That was the best response he has given in a very long time.

Abeg it does o, for anyone wey dey enter aeroplane it does. I want to be able to close two eyes during flight and not have to bind and cast during landing, so it does matter. Just make air travel safe and more comfortable, don't care if you have to hire expatriates only to make that happen since Nigerians have shown an inability to avoid turning everything into ethnic tantrum.
