Bolt of size 13, plus its washer and nut.

BetaTechnicians:

Ok good,
What about the bolt, is there any washer on the head of the bolt that slides into the aluminium?

I think it's just the colouration. The most common colours are white and milk. Both can work effectively.

BetaTechnicians:

Thanks a lot.
Are there different grades? Because aluminium usually has different level of thickness, is there a preferred type?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by SolnergyPower: 7:07pm On Feb 05, 2020
You nail the aluminum frames along the same wood lines used for the house roofing.

durodee:

A question please. How do you anchor the frame to the roof?

Meet those guys selling aluminium products, show them the attached pictures.

Depending on where you live, it is usually between N1800 and N2000 per length.

BetaTechnicians:

Bro, I need to use the improvised mount for panels for a project, budget can't allow for the standard mounting kit.
What's the name of the aluminium form to be used and price range per length? Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

I suspect your Solar Charge Controller, it may not be working well.

Have you tried disconnecting your Panels as at when the inverter starts tripping OFF?

If you haven't, please do and observe the inverter's behaviour.

oliyeniun:
hello house,

i have a solar installation: 24V system, 1200Watts PV array, SuNex 130A MPPT CC (used to have an Epever CC which the installer blew up and replaced with this) 2 200AH Quanta batteries, bought last year and a bluegate 2KVA / 24V inverter. In my location as early as 10am, the battery indicators on each battery is already reading 14.1V because we have plenty sun grin .

the issue is that since i changed from the Prag inverter i was using before to this bluegate inverter, when there is no NEPA and the inverter is on at this time, it goes turns off once the voltage reading on each of the battery gets to 14.1V and except i put plenty load on the inverter to bring the voltage down, it keeps tripping off, which i suspect is due to excess current and the possibility that the battery is full and the solar is still charging the battery (i may be wrong and i stand to be corrected). i also read it somewhere that Quanta manufacturers have a cut off voltage for longevity of their batteries at a much lower voltage (between 13.5-13.6 thereabout). i contacted an installer about the problem and he said i should install a circuit breaker between:

i. the Solar Panels and the CC (60A)
ii. the CC and the battery (30A)
iii. the battery and the inverter (30A)

this instruction is a bit strange to me and i am humbly asking the house what they think the problem might be and if the recommendation of the installer should be followed and if not, what should be done. I am counting on the house o. this investment must not waste o. Thank you.

earthrealm:
thanks gents for the suggestions.
seems the dc pump is a better option. am wondering if anyone is running such, lemme tap from his experience.
2ndly is the pump easily available in nigeria? or aliexpress..hence the need to purchase 2 pumps, incase of 1 going bad

3rdly, can i hook it up directly to the solar panel, without battery?

4thly, if answer to 3 is yes, i am considering retaining the old inverter setup, however the output from the panels will be split into 2, one going to sumo...the other going to the CC of the existing setup

i wish to automate the whole system, with auto flow shut off, so the system will be independent of human input, as setup is in the village. a regulator will be installed in the tank to cut off power...when tank is full...and also activate power when the water gets to a certain level.

the water demand is minimal, say 200 liters daily, so a 2k liters tank shud last 1wk or so. borehole depth is btw 80ft to 130ft. most pumps are rated flow/hr like 2000ltrs/hr...or 30L/minute , can i simply divide by 24hrs to calc the hourly flow rate....abi the pump is designed to work 24/7??

Below is how the panels sitting is made on the panels standing.

Now I get. Im thinking of using aluminium poles to cross the inverted L, then fix the panels with bolt and nut to the aluminium poles.

Get another pole! grin grin

ojeysky:

Yes it's my pole but there is more devil in the details of the pole which has to do with electric cable slag (according to my electrician), as the distance between the pole and the house may become too much if we have to relocate it.
Will explore further though.
Thanks

I think we're saying the same thing as I opined in "a".

SolnergyPower:
There is a key information you didn't give and that's, have you used the generator with the inverter before?

I'll be giving advise based on the premise that you've used the generator with the inverter before.

a. Check the frequency of the generator. Most inverters are frequency sensitive. The frequency tolerance of most inverters is in the neighborhood of 50Hz (±2Hz).

b. Check the generator voltage. If the voltage is way too high, you may need to put ON other appliances to step the voltage down before the inverter can kick in. This usually happens when the generator is going bad.

c. If your inverter has selectable charge current, select about 10A and see if the inverter can start charging.

mctfopt:

Some generator frequency can go as high as 110Hz, at that rate most inverters will no longer be able to charge the batteries. Even premium inverter like Schneider's Connext SW can only manage between 44Hz to 70Hz.

house,
please I need your help. my 2kva inverter is no more charging my battery when connected to the power. meanwhile, I get output when plug to power source. it's only solar charging the battery now and that is not enough.

This thing started when I plug it on to charge battery when I put on my generator (2.5kva).

please what can I do now.

Congratulations to your friend. To your questions..

1. Yes you can. But never feed the house from the house socket. Just plug your extension and use.

2. Yes.

3. The battery will of course be drained though minimal. If there isn't any factory built switch to turn off the display, please don't alter else you may damage the system.

Drgreatone:
A friend of mine just bought the luminous delite package wit 900va inverter and 150ah tubular battery. My questions are
1 Instead of connecting the output to the distribution board, can I just plug in an extension as its only for tv and decoder use and sometimes a fan
2 can i plug the input to a 1.5kva AVR which is then plugged to the wall socket for charging/mains use
3 the display is on and showing the max time/battery charge state even when the inverter is off, would that continue to draw significant power from the battery or is there a way to permanently put of the display.
Thanks

There's nothing peculiar about the Bluegate fan, it kicks in when the inverter internal components heat up just like most inverters'. The fan doesn't run continuously with the inverter.

We've installed quite a number of units over the years.

earthrealm:

bluegate inverters make a heck of a noise, hv seen it in action in a pals house. the noise no be here. its a default fan setting/noise
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by SolnergyPower: 8:26pm On Dec 20, 2019
Bluegate inverters are quite very rugged.

Please post the picture of the Bluegate Inverter that you're using.

oliyeniun:
Zilch!

None yet! Bad thing is that i am requesting a change of inverter and the installer (who is also the seller) is insisting he cannot change the inverter or refund my money because he has broken the warranty seal of the inverter. I am at a loss of what to do because truthfully, i have concerns and reservation about the blue gate inverter, he is insisting that the wiring of my house might be faulty. I dont think so because i have used two luminous and most recently prag and no issues with house wiring. Could bluegate be that sensitive?

Round 4: More calmness from AJ, but the pressure is coming from Ruiz, who looks unfazed by anything that comes his way - Ruiz lands a nice shot at the end of the round.

Round 3: Relaxed round three from AJ, but Ruiz still the man pushing the action. This is what Joshua needs to continue to do, and if the big shot is there, take it. Ruiz doesn't look phased, but Joshua looks calm.

Round 2: AJ learned from the first fight not to rush in. And now he's looking good in the second round too. Good work from Joshua, who will feel comfortable now that he's cut his Mexican rival. But AJ is cut this time after a clash of heads! Early drama here in Riyadh.

Round 1: Cagey round to start. Joshua uses his jab nicely but it's Ruiz that's pressing, much like late on in the first fight. Good boxing fro, AJ so far, though. More of that in the second round, please. Ruiz gets cut at the end of the round! Great right hand from AJ!

name of the device and the link at alaba

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by SolnergyPower: 10:28pm On Dec 04, 2019
You can use the attached device, it's a timer. You can set it for Monday till Sunday and it continues to work every other day.

We do set for most clients from 8am till 3pm everyday. That means the timer triggers your load ON by 8am and turns it OFF at 3pm

It goes for about 10k or so in Alaba.

olaolu11:

Everything except my fridge. And that's because my inverter is too "small"(900av) to carry the load. I shall change the inverter to a 1500av soon. The koko is energy conservation. Bulbs are 5 watts(enter room, on light. As you step out,off light). TV
is at least 10hrs daily(its illumination is enough in parlour, no light while TV is on). 130 watts ox fan on low for max 6hrs(I have ordered 33watts rechargeable as replacement), blender, laptops, phones, decoders etc. What i did was rewire the house to exclude heavy loads(fridge, washing machine etc) off the inverter and use on as need arises so there wont be "mistake". And when we do use, we compensate by no fan, or no tv. Transformer in our area has been out of service since April yet I have not used gen in last 3 or 4 months. I also have 5v5w dc bulbs drawing directly from the battery in rooms so I can use light without necessarily putting on the inverter thus eliminating idle power the inverter uses. With the setup, except I need 220volts, inverter remains off. I am presently reading about BMS that regulates fridge and switches it on and off. With that in place, fridge will be wired to work only when we are not home for about 5hrs.
