davodyguy: Eloquence is not always directly proportional to intellect. Besides there are different types of intelligence. So far none of them has exhibited the type of intelligence that appeals most to me - logical/mathemical intelligence. Your top four would be average in linguistic intelligence outside Nigeria. This doesn't mean they aren't intelligent, it just means they haven't been put in the right situation for their type of intelligence to shine through. 1 Like |

Christeety: You Cee-C haters still don't get it. It's not about beauty. I wouldn't call her stunning nor could I call her ugly. It's the hate directed at her that's earned her empathy, mine at least, or sympathy. As Tyrion Lannister said, some of us “have a tender spot in our hearts for 7 Likes |

guardsman: My previous point on subjectivity stands. The most well-behaved contestant does not automatically get the prize. It's the individual who connects most with the people who actually vote, not the general public nor the housemates, that wins. There are people very much like her who can't recognise their own reflection and condemn her. On the other hand, there are people who can relate with her or simply prefer to see good in others. 2 Likes |

guardsman: Attractiveness is subjective. God in his wisdom created us differently and created us to be attractive and attracted to different types of people. Some of us can see through not just past her behaviour. She is a young girl, clearly inexperienced in dating and with men, insecure (contrary to the image she likes to project) who wears her heart on her sleeve. There are no surprises with her; you get what you see. Age and experience will eventually teach her to be more restrained. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Egein: EarthXmetahuman: A quick Google / Facebook search would have revealed to you that Imuze is an urohobo name not an Igbo name. But what does that or any fact matter to a troll? A name isn't automatically Igbo just because it's neither Yoruba nor Hausa. There are several ethnic groups in Nigeria other than the Big Three. 1 Like |

maclatunji: Too many suppositions in one post. You forget that your claim and the ensuing debate was based on your personal epiphany rather than research. You seem to actually be on your way to believing your hypothesis. How do you know warring Igbo tribes had reason to end battles quickly? You are yet to show evidence of Bini influence on Igbo culture. 3 Likes |

maclatunji: 1. You contradict yourself. Did you not in an earlier post allude to the fact that Igbos lived autonomously in dispersed communities? How then might a sense of oneness have been established between an Igbo community in Owerri and another in Abakiliki. Igbo groups did not identify as Igbo until fairly recently. 2. The word subjugate means to "bring under domination or control, especially by conquest.", conquer, vanquish, defeat, crush, quell, quash, gain mastery over, gain ascendancy over, gain control of, bring under the yoke, bring to heel, bring someone to their knees, overcome, overpower, hegemonize etc. I ask you once again to prove that Igbos were "subjugated" using the tests I mentioned earlier. E.g. Modern English includes a mix of Anglo-saxon, Latin and Frankish words which demonstrates how the language was influenced by conquerors and settlers. Scotland Gaelic is a secondary, rarely spoken language in Scotland due to years of English rule. Many Scottish names and place names have been replaced with English names. I'm going too far. Africa is a prime example of the effects of subjugation with the residues of colonialism littered across the continent. Can you point to any residues of Bini subjugation in Igbo land today? 6 Likes |

maclatunji: You intentionally digress. What does access to sea, kidnapping and slave trading have to do with domination? Your claim that Igbos were dominated by Binis is what I addressed. That you have to kidnap individuals rather than simply command their groups to produce a number of them for sale demonstrates a lack of dominance over them. 6 Likes |

konoplyanka: Never had kings? How do you know this? I think the word you are looking for is Didn't which points to certain Igbo groups not having ultimate rulers at the time they were discovered by the Brits. Oligarchy which Igbos practiced is a more advanced form of government than monarchy - circa 800 BC vs 2000 BC, and was therefore a natural step up from kingship Kingship was restored/ introduced by Europeans not Binis. Unless you have information pointing to Bini style kingship east of the Niger. That Aniomas et al are Igbo is a very convenient assertion when it suits certain agendas. Anyhow, if "today they are Igbo" as you stated, it reinforces my earlier point that Igbos influenced Bini's east-bound exiled subject to the point that their origin is debatable. What a feat. 8 Likes |

konoplyanka:Some of them claim to originate from Bini, which would mean that Igbos dominated over them, rather than the other way round ; as demonstrated by the Igbo influence in their language, culture, place names and phenotype (arguably) 7 Likes |

maclatunji: Hurt? Is that your go-to comeback when you're unable to defend your claim? You said Igbos were dominated by Binis.Prove it using the universal litmus tests of language, culture, place names etc. instead of making up stuff. The kidnap and selling of Igbos by other groups and within Igbo groups does not point to them having been dominated by any group. 5 Likes |

maclatunji: And yet the dominated's language and culture remained uninfluenced by the dominus. Instead the dominated greatly influenced the language and culture of the dominus's supposed exiled subjects. How silly your assertion is. Throughout the world, there are always traces left in the culture, language, place names and/ or phenotypes of conquered groups by those they were conquered by. 7 Likes |
