lolz , common sense is never common afterall. who tells them that obi wants to win any polling booth in kwara ?all obi needs to do is to take away enough votes to deprive apc and pdp the chance to win the election , by the time he takes out 25-35% , lets see how a winner will emerged

if this protest and chaos should continue with the same intensity for another one week , then it is a 50-50 , the military can take over . and if it happens , it will be a popular hand over because it seems the masses and populace are already fed up with this present democratic system or experiment

I concur with you...I have been thinking about this too.

it seems the end sars protest worked fine for a certain group of people who have been looking for means of causing havoc or destabilizing the nation. even the authorities are confounded . the best this is to declare a state of emergency in affected states
duality:
Theses are the peaceful protesters abi?

People don't know what is happening yet.

We can defend all that is happening with lekki shootings, but be careful.

We can still salvage this. If it takes a little more time, it will be lost and if you like blame buhari from now to eternity.

We have to nip this anarchist in the bud now.

is history about to repeat itself again?
Nigeria 1985 , almost similar events led to a military take over
in 1993 m similar break down of law and order led to the abacha military coup
it seems a set or group of people are behind all these crisis , and they are either setting the nation up for a military take over or setting the nation up for total destabilization

someone made a thread here some days back and he said Nigerians are very lucky to have buhari has president ,
many didn't know the meaning of what the man said ,
no PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA WOULD HAVE ALLOWED THAT PROTEST TO LAST EVEN 1 WEEK NOT TO TALK OF 13 DAYS .
by the end of the 1st week , obj would have declared curfew or even state of emergcby and ordered everyone to stay indoors , abacha wont even wait for 7 days before picking up falz and all the conveners of the protest and charge them with treason

Vaughanlanrewaj:

The sad thing is that even the government that allowed the protest to go on for 13 days until it was hijacked did not try at all.

i wasn't even expecting anyone out after the Benin jail break and what happened in Lagos the previous day when ppl were killed .
those boys and girls thought they were having fun, normally anytime you see the military around a protest like that you should know there is trouble

but due to the youthful innocence of the youth they never believed that the military ca face them and shoot them , some will not get out of the trauma for a long time , i was telling someone that if the protest was staged by transporters , taxi drivers immediately they saw the military , thehy will run away
Ebenezer2021:
why were they still protesting in the night?
The protest should have ended by 4pm, protesting in the dark Is an opportunity for these miscreants and hoodlums to unleash looting and mayhem..
They should have gone home immediately it was 6pm

i expect a full clamp down on naija social media because now the military and security agencies have seen that in a nation like Nigeria that has diverse ethnic groups and various interest groups , the social media can be used to easily bring ppl together and use the, to disestablish the nation
Ebenezer2021:
not just nairaland but Twitter too.
Now is the opportunity for FG to seize the social media cos that's where all these inciting comments are.

those boys and girls would have listened to the wise words of eleders if they had been warned and they would have left after 2 weeks most especially after the jail breaking occurrences , but many clerics, politicians and elites saw the protest as a way of winning fame and popularity and there fore encouraged those youth to continue with the protest WHEREAS THEY DIDN'T STAY THERE WITH THEM AND THEY MADE SURE THEIR CHILDREN WERE NOT AMONG THOSE PROTESTING

Vaughanlanrewaj:

It is really so so sad. People fuelled all these now and did not do enough to intervene or offer to mediate before soldiers moved in. The clerics buying food and drinks should have offered to mediate before 4pm at least but now they used Twitter and nairaland to create trouble yet hid their own children.

all those celebs that brought out these boys and girls later left them and went back to their cozy apartments , even falz who is already a billionaire by virtue of his father wealth and who started this protest told the youth to go back and leave the streets and that they should obey the ban on protest and curfew , but he didnt leave his apartments ooooooo. i am sure his father must have warned him not to step outside and protest again that he should be doing everything via twitter or social media .

you have to understand that Nigerians most of the time allow sentiments and emotions to override their normal rational thinking and reasoning ,

adebwalex:
NA you thunder go fire past.. How many of this useless politician that are supporting the end SARS MOVEMENT sent their young one to go and protest and even stay at lekki. Were are the Falz guy and Yusufu who are the order of the movement? They sent a message to the youth at their twitter handling telling them to obey the curfew. Life is not a duplicate...We all pray for a better Nigeria but some bad element want the country to be boil and even plan war. For God sake we are a Democratic Nation. We elect all those in offices which their tenure will end in four years. Why can't we wait for their tenure to finish and elect a credible leader to rule instead they are calling for a president to resign or they end Nigeria...My fellow youth Let us don't be use by the so called desperate politician who want to set the country on fire.. Let us dont sell our vote o vote those who will not bring change to this great Nation. May the soul of those who died in lekki rest in peace.. while others peaceful protester should obey the curfew and allow government to fish out the hoodlums and thugs who want to create Anarchy in the land. God bless Nigeria...

nothing will happen , this isnt the first time and we all know how it will end , the army may likely deny involvement and claim that it was rogues who came in their uniform , even armed robbers and kidnappers use military uniforms at times , they will claim that the Nigeria army is well trained in handling civil disobedience and that Nigeria soldiers will never open fire on unarmed civilians , that is one side . they will pick up some prisoners , torture them and claim that they have arrested the rogues who did the shootings

they may just come out and say that ,the soldiers were threatened and only resorted to shooting back as an act of self defense, and let it be know , the military will never give up their soldiers once they were carrying out orders , it will just be a case of unknown soldier

these boys and girls didnt know what was coming , they have never witnessed this kind of thing before , most ot them were even born after nigeria last military rule , so they had no idea what was coming whereas those who knew what danger these ppl were exposing themselves too , didn't allow their kids to join the protest and yet they kept meeting these youth telling them to keep up the protest.

honestly i blame the older generation that pushed and encouraged these youth , young boys and girls to their untimely death, the older generation failed this present day youth. anyone above 40 years old already knew what was going to happen once the military steps in ,

but yet they kept encouraging the boys to keep up the protest despite the military warnings last week that they were stepping in this week , it wasn't until the military had stepped in that they started telling the youth to leave , which wasn't possible , if all those who spoke yesterday urging the youths to leave the streets and even falz who later made a late call , if they had made that call to the youths last week definitely the youth would have left the streets and all these wouldn't have happened .
we all know the military that whenever they step into civil disobedience matters ,to quell it , they always leave sorrows tears and blood , just like fela said

Thank you. If you want to build something on lies, I wish you luck but I guarantee you that you will not succeed building anything on lies and falsehood.

Please take your campaign elsewhere.

We have a lot to lose here in Lagos if we don't have peace. We are very hardworking and socially conscious more than you think and if you know our history.
Lagos was the home of the thinkers of Project Nigeria and little wonder that despite our flaws as a nation, we have overtaken nations older than Nigeria on this continent.

We want peace in Lagos and we will support our governor to restore peace.
