Foreign Affairs / Re: Israeli Military Aggression Against Palestinians A War Crime — OIC by TheFreeOne: 6:08pm On Oct 12, 2023
The OIC considers this brutal aggression against the Palestinian people a blatant international and humanitarian law violation and a war crime.

All actors should explore a 2 state solution. A Palestinian state and an Israeli state.

There are no other way for a lasting peace amongst these neighbours, they must come to a negotiating table. No one can totally wipe out the other, the circle of violence and deaths will only continues.

These recurring crisis is a failure of US foreign policy in the region - Putin
Foreign Affairs / Re: Israeli Warns Its Offensive 'won't Be Clean' As Bodies Of 1500 Hamas Militants F by TheFreeOne: 12:58pm On Oct 10, 2023
Netanyahu and IDF game plan is to totally destroy Hamas, demolish Gaza and annex it to Isreal.

Hamas attack was a perfect opportunity but history has shown that no one can forever suppress others for personal / selfish interests.

Where is apartheid today? South Africans survived and overcome so will the Palestinians.

I totally condemn the killings of civilians on both sides but a two state solution is necessary for Isreal and Palestine in order to end the incessant circle of violence and deaths amongst the two neighbours.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by TheFreeOne: 3:44pm On Oct 08, 2023
Whilst condemning the killings of civilians on both sides there should be an equal application of international law for both Palestinian people and the Israelis. It is evil to continually subject a people to an apartheid kind of slavery/ blockade on their own land.

US, UK and Europe hypocritical support of Isreal won't bring any peace to the Middle East and it is about time they support 2 state solution. Anything outside of that will only results in continuous strife and deaths on both sides.

The days of a unipolar world is gone thanks to Russia, the Arab nations needed to have a serious and genuine common front for the creation of a 2 state solution and should seize the moment to exert their influence on the global stage for a fair and just world.

Isreal and Palestine must come to the negotiating table with support from countries that want a peaceful solution to the crisis not those who continuously play games with the lives of their people.

Humanity should strive for a peaceful, fair and just world.

Politics / Re: No Leader Has Spoken For Africa Like President Tinubu Did At UNGA, Says Agbakoba by TheFreeOne: 12:14pm On Sep 21, 2023
I'm not a fan of APC but honestly, I'm impressed with Tinubu's speech at the UN.

He spoke truth to power directly to the west and it's time for African leaders to be bold in their relationship with westerners.

We should stop exploitation of our resources by foreigners and demand equal treatment in the global arena.

What the interests of Europe, most especially France considering their push for military invasion?

Let us all support a diplomatic solution in order to avoid a protracted war in West Africa.

African leaders shouldn't give room to a proxy war between Russia and the west/europe on African soil.

Nigerians must say no to a protracted war in West Africa.

A war with Niger will be an extension of Russia- Ukraine war which has led europe into economic crisis. So they want Bazoum reinstated for their economic benefits (natural resources) not because of democracy.

African leaders must ensure a diplomatic solution to this crisis. We shouldn't allow US and Europe make west Africa another battle ground in a proxy war between the west and Russia.

It's unfortunate the leadership of ECOWAS played into the hands of western colonial imperialists.

Africa needs leaders that can protect her interests.

Diplomacy is the key needed to resolve the crisis not military action.

On a second thought, knowing the stuff that these Lagos politicians are made of, could the flaunt of bravado over Niger Republic, the request to the senate, the rejection and the protests in Niger Republic be a stage-managed choreography, part of the machinations of the Lagos boy to show the west that he tried his best, but his people rebelled against it? Curiouser and curiouser!

His letter to the national assembly is pointer to this move.

The military intervention arrangement is a wrong decision and the only way out is for the NASS to reject it.

Which sensible human being wouldn't want to break free from such yoke?

Coups by soldiers in Francophone countries won't stop until Pharaoh France let the people go.

African Union must rise up to stop this modern day slavery.

Diplomacy is the key needed to avoid a conflagration of crisis that may spin out of control. smiley

It is a wrong move pushing for a military solution with a neighbouring country whilst there are vested interests at play by warmongers, colonialists and Western countries whose interests are majorly in African resources.

Even if our interests either economic, political may seem to be at stake Nigeria shouldn't be in a rush for war which is to the advantage of France and the west who will not bear the brunt of it and are far away from the continent

Like a friend opined do the current administration has something to gain like support for legitimacy from the US and Europe? Hence their hurry to go to war?

Are there vested interests by some Nigerians having businesses and investments in Niger?

Or is there an endgame by some African leaders to stylishly push France out of west Africa?. Has France presence done much to improve insecurity in the Sahel? I read somewhere that the coup leaders accused the former president of always asking their soldiers to get approval from french solders before attacking terrorists.

The FG should gauge the opinion of Nigeriens who have shown massive support to the soldiers that ousted their political leaders before venturing into any military operation.

And our national assembly should properly weigh the pro and cons as a war at this point wherein our economy is in dire straits doesn't make economic sense.

Being a big brother doesn't mean we must take risks to our disadvantage cos the Northern part of Nigeria will definitely feel the heat of war due to the border we share with Niger.

And if Tinubu is a strategist as claimed by his followers then I'll want to believe his letter to the national is tactical way of rolling back a hasty decision as it will be a sensible move for the national assembly to turn down his request for a military operation whilst not losing support of western countries.

Ecowas should not play with fires that'll create more problems in the west African region. The warmongers are waiting in the wing to fuel wars / crisis in order maintain their hegemony and selfish interests.

The Ecowas leadership shouldn't make themselves lackeys to the west most especially France whose major interest is in niger's uranium mines.

Diplomacy is the key needed to restore peace and order in Niger.

Foreign Affairs / Africa Becoming ‘a New Center Of Power’ – Putin by TheFreeOne: 3:27pm On Jul 28, 2023
Africa becoming ‘a new center of power’ – Putin
Published: 28 Jul 2023 | 09:31 GMT

The era of hegemony of one or several states is fading into the past, the Russian leader has said

Africa’s political and economic power is growing, while formerly dominant world powers are losing their influence, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg on Friday.

“Before our eyes, the African continent is becoming a new center of power. Its political and economic role is growing exponentially. And everyone will have to reckon with this objective reality,”
the president said during a plenary session of the summit.

Putin stressed that while “some manifestations of colonialism, unfortunately, have not been eliminated to this day and are still practiced by the former imperial powers, particularly in the economic, information and humanitarian spheres,” the era of hegemony of one or several states is fading, despite resistance from those seeking to maintain a monopoly on world affairs.

The president also pledged that Russia will continue to expand its interaction with African countries, calling it a natural process. He noted that despite the difficult conditions on global markets, trade between Russia and the continent continues to grow, and is far from reaching its limit.

Meanwhile, in international politics, the positions of Russia and African states on many key issues are very close or completely coincide, Putin noted, stating that all sides want to build a more just architecture for the global order, and to jointly uphold international law.

The president stressed that Russia and African nations oppose using “punitive” measures to strong-arm other countries.

“We oppose the use of climate issues, the protection of human rights, and the so-called gender agenda for unseemly political purposes,” Putin said. “Illegal practices such as unilateral sanctions and restrictive, in fact punitive, measures that harm countries pursuing an independent course are unacceptable, and create economic problems on a global scale that hinder development.”

Putin also noted that Russia and Africa are “united by an innate desire to defend true sovereignty, the right to their own, original path of development in the political, economic, social, cultural and other spheres,” and stressed that the desire for such independence does not mean self-isolation, but leads to increased ties with other sovereign states.

The Russia-Africa Summit has entered its second day in St. Petersburg, with 49 African delegations attending, including 17 heads of state. One of the key aims of the event is to boost collaboration between Moscow and the African continent on peace, security and development goals.

That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan."

Is there any agency of FG that hasn't been compromised by the ruling party?

APC filed a complaint against Channels and the next day or so the television station was fined 5m without query.

So it is very obvious the current administration has thrown caution to the wind and won't mind destroying the country in order to feather their nests.

A welcome development. Though I see it as a way to give Tinubu (if his fraudulent electoral victory stands) a soft landing, and he can also claim he wasn't responsible, should there be a backlash from the masses.

But had the opposition party been declared as the winner of 25 February presidential election, this APC administration wouldn't have considered removing the subsidy before May 29.

Anyways, let Bubu and his gang of evil men begone. We've had enough of wickedness in high places that have be-devilled naija since APC came into power.

That is the only way to redeem whatever is left of his battered image.

We have already stated in our affidavit that no information in the BVAS will be lost as we will transfer all the data in the BVAS to our backend server

If their request is granted, the commission may later tell Nigerians that another glitch erased all the data from the backend server.
