Phones / Why Does The New NCC Supercode *301# Not Work On Globacom? by TheGodmother(f): 6:40am On May 18, 2023
I read about the new NCC codes, and was very happy.

https://www.nairaland.com/7692803/new-ncc-ussd-codes-all

Kudos to the NCC for using one code for all.

MTN has been inundating me with messages about the new USSD codes and the USSD supercode for a long time now.

Now, the USSD supercode *301# which is the gateway to all the other codes works on all other networks apart from my dear Globacom.

Old people like us need to remember only one code, and with that code, we can get all other codes.

My dear Globacom should kindly implement this USSD supercode into their system.

Crime / OPAY Scammer by TheGodmother(f): 11:19am On Apr 27, 2023
I just received a call from this number 09134909381.

He claimed to be an employee of OPAY and was asking some personal questions before I hung up on him.

I checked Truecaller and saw he was a scammer.

My question is, why hasn't MTN blocked that number since?

Or why hasn't he been tracked?
Music/Radio / Help Me Add This Song On Boomplay by TheGodmother(f): 5:52pm On Apr 14, 2023
Hello my beautiful nairalanders.

I've searched boomplay for this song but couldn't find it.

It was played in my daughter's wedding last Saturday, I instantly fell in love with the song.

Ciel - Love Me

That , is exactly what is a 'fuel-less' generator;your panels, batteries and the likes. Any other thing is a ruse. These adverts used to be prominent on nairaland a while ago and quite a number of people fell for the scam. Thank God for gut feelings

I always listen to my guts, it never fails me.

Thank you my love, and thanks everyone

After much thought, I think I'll just stick to my solar power.

I needed an extra source of energy to consolidate the solar system I have.

Thanks everyone, for your input, both positive and negative.

You know, if you take your time to go thought this lady's posts and topics, you'll see she really doesn't know what you're talking about.

@TheGodmother, the number looks legit though, although I can't be positive about it.

The phone number came out without much search.

Thanks love, that's the same search I did.

I called the number, they didn't pick up, but when we chatted in WhatsApp, they replied.

So I'm in a bit of dilemma.

Check if it’s similar

Thank you darling, I'm not sure it's the same company, but it's the similar product.

I have a feeling that a lot of people use the name of the company for business.

Good day my lovely nairalanders, I'm trying to acquire a 8kva fuelless generator.

I searched online and found a company Ecotech Fuelless Technologies.

They seem legit enough, but the attitude of the person I'm chatting with is nonchalant.

The number is 09164795413, if anyone can look into it and let me know whether he/she is a scammer or not.

Thanks.
Business / What's Going On With Anambra Airport? by TheGodmother(f): 8:01pm On Nov 29, 2021
After all the hype about Anambra airport, has it started functioning?

I tried to book a ticket to Anambra, but I can't find it anywhere.

I'm tired of going through Asaba, it's too stressful.

Are they still playing politics with it?

I think I'll just remain where I am till the airport is opened.
Car Talk / How To Build An Electric Car by TheGodmother(f): 4:44pm On Nov 16, 2021
Good day kids.

So, I've seen threads whereby some graduates (Mostly from OAU) build their own cars.

Kudos to them.

But if we want to delve into something like that, let's start thinking long-term.

Electric cars are the future.

Petrol and diesel cars are phasing out.

So, anyone that wants to embark on an automobile project should dive right into electric cars.

Below is a link that explains everything you need to know about electric cars.

kingbobby:
firing him you are talking about is it that he will never have anything to do with the company or be demoted but still be getting his usual pay

It depends.

If he was involved in a major scandal that will affect the company, the board will fire him and he will sell his shares to the board of directors.

If it's something not serious, he will sell some part of his shares and cease to become the major shareholder (if he was the major shareholder).

Investment / Re: Can The Board Of Directors Fire The Owner Of A Company? by TheGodmother(f): 6:51pm On Jun 06, 2021
Definitely.

As long as it's a public trading company, the owner is just a shareholder.

Others have invested money in his company.

So he can't break any rule.

But it will be very difficult to fire him, if ALL the shareholders don't agree.

It's a consensus decision.

I'll go straight to the point.

My son just discovered that the Nigerian telecommunication providers blocked Twitter access from their DNS servers.

So all you need to do is to change your DNS and you're good to go.

On your phone (android or IOS) , you can use the cloudflare 1.1.1.1 DNS.

It's free and fast.

No need to buy a VPN.

Have a nice day folks.

I bought "chicken" sometime in Costa Rica, defeathered and beheaded.

I cooked and cooked and cooked it, but anytime I bring it out to eat, the meat is soooooo tough, fork doesnt go through it.

So I put it back on the pot and keep cooking but still the same.

So I gave it to the neighbors dog and it refused to eat it.

The scary stuff about it was that ants refused to go near it.

So later on I was telling my naija homies about it and they said it was a vulture.

They also said that when a snake swallow a vulture, it spits it out immediately cos it cannot be digested.

So I want to ask, has anyone eaten a vulture before?

Dere's an igbo adage dat says "udele bu Eze amosu", meanin "vulture is d king of evil spirit".

Webmasters / How To Host A Website From Your Home. by TheGodmother(f): 8:13am On Jun 17, 2016
Hello nairalanders,
its been quite some time. Its good to know that this forum is still up and running.
I have a slight challenge. I want to host a website from my home, so that I can showcase some work to some clients in another part of the world for 3 days or thereabout.
The equipment I have are a smartphone, that doubles as a modem, an old usb modem (in case I am mobile and don't feel like carrying a phone around), and an ubuntu linux computer.
Apparently, my son is a tech genius and he said something about "iptables" or routers.
I dont think I can carry a router everywhere I go (when I'm already tired of carrying a smartphone around).
Is there a way I can configure my linux to make my website "live"?
Due to the sensitivity of my work, I cant upload it on or other free hosting sites, also, the website will be up for a few days only (2 or 3 days max).
I can view the site within my local network with apache2 server, and thats about as far as I have gone.
Any techies in the house?
