Gaming / Darkfall Is A Pretty Neat by tp6gw2: 4:20am On Feb 28, 2013
I got a fun little email this morning stating that, yup, Darkfall Gold is a thing. And that’s pretty much all it said. For those who don’t know, Darkfall is a pretty neat, action-combat MMORPG that features full looting, an active skill system, and a distinctly old-school approach to just about every game system. Plus large scale PvP, yo. Back to the expansion, or patch, or re-release — whatever this is exactly is still unclear.
Gaming / Whether Darkfall Gold Is A Very Elaborate And Cruel Joke Of Vaporware by tp6gw2: 8:57am On Feb 25, 2013
It is very hard to decide whether it is just a game from a small company struggling to get everything right. Thus the announcement that the release of Darkfall is delayed from January 22nd to February 25th is greeted with various responses from laughter to concern. I still think that darkfall gold might be released this year, but I also think it will be an extreme niche product, with less players than Age of Conan. Your opinion might differ on that.
Gaming / You Will Love Darkfall 2.0 by tp6gw2: 8:22am On Feb 20, 2013
Enjoy the gameplay smooth and fluid, fast action and very responsive controls. You can forget about the usual-Move the cursor - click - and wait: In Darkfall, the action is in real time and your character is like an extension of yourself.

You do not need to spend moments that never cease to play for fun, or to accomplish your goals. Even if you play in small doses, your character can be effective in its field of competence, and very nice to play. Whether you are in favor of an intense game or a casual player without investing too much time, darkfall gold sale fits your style of play.
Gaming / Developers Are Seeking Out The Darkfall Gold by tp6gw2: 9:12am On Jan 31, 2013
Are social players more valuable to the long-term success of MMOs? Absolutely. Can studios focus exclusively on such players, ala darkfall gold? Of course. But in so doing they leave literally millions of dollars on the table. And so the reason we see a “dilution” in the MMO identity is precisely because developers are seeking out the most profitable piece of that Venn Diagram – the intersection of single-player and MMO – by trial and error writ large.
Gaming / Businessman Make Their Money(darkfall Gold?) by tp6gw2: 8:42am On Jan 25, 2013
I can’t comment on Darkfall because I have never played it but I think that releasing a brand new mmorpg so shortly after their first is a master stroke. In fact I think that this may just be the future of Darkfall Gold.

There are too many games out there and I think that the gaming public no longer has the attention span to play one game for five years.

A lot of recent mmorpgs have been labelled failures because they failed to hold onto their audience for more than a few months.

Why not embrace this new reality and design games (and their economic model) that will keep people entertained for a few months before they move on to a new game.

Look at Darkfall. Some bloggers are already fretting over whether or not it has longevity. Why does it matter? There is no sub so Arenanet make their money as soon as you buy the game and if a player gets a couple of months entertainment out of that purchase before moving thats a pretty good deal.
Gaming / Someone Might Care A Little Bit Of DFUW Gold by tp6gw2: 3:16am On Jan 22, 2013
Oh, the point in Darkfall isn't for me to Buy DFUW Gold and say whether it's fun or not. The point is also not if I like it. The point of all of this was to get inside of the game, play it exactly how others play it, and let readers decide how they feel.

I play the game because I chose to and I wanted to talk about it. My ultimate feelings on it, if you ask me, are irrelevant. I only put them down because someone might care a little bit. XD

Gaming / Thank You For Purchasing Darkfall Gold by tp6gw2: 10:00am On Jan 14, 2013
It's the last week already? Well that went fast! It seems like only yesterday when I woke up in a daze to find my computer had "Thank you for buying darkfall gold, n00bcakes!" splashed across its screen. Yet, here we are, four weeks later! My clan's city now looks like a real place of habitation instead of a pile of smashed rubble, combat is starting to become more commonplace than one attack every week, and I'm actually wearing armor instead of being naked most of the time. Amazing how things change over time.
Gaming / Who Remembers The Darkfall/eurogamer Scuffle? by tp6gw2: 7:23am On Jan 09, 2013
If you didn't and just to recap: reviewer Ed Zitron gave the game 2/10 and dev Tasos let forth his unhappiness with a vengeance. He accused Zitron of only having played the game for a few hours, most of which were spent designing characters or screenshotting. Eurogamer's editor-in-chief, Tom Bramwell, then promised to re-review the game, this time entrusting journalist Kieron Gillen with what had to be a very unenviable task.

I admit to taking a personal interest in this since the story broke; like many other British games journalists I've done a stint writing reviews for Eurogamer and I know both Ed and Kieron both professionally and personally. Indeed within the British games industry, Kieron Gillen is something of a minor celebrity whose opinion is trusted and respected...

Gaming / A Good Article About Darkfall by tp6gw2: 6:31am On Dec 31, 2012
The animations aren't really the reason I played Darkfall, or why I will play DFUW. But if you're turned off by them the extent you seem to be, you obviously wouldn't like the game for what it does offer...

Gaming / If You Missed A Big MMO Or Guild Wars 2 by tp6gw2: 5:53am On Dec 25, 2012
At the end of every week, we round up the best and most popular news stories, exclusive features, and insightful columns published on Massively and then present them all in one convenient place. If you missed a big MMO or Guild Wars 2 Insider story last week, you've come to buy Guild Wars 2 gold.

This week, we reveled in Massively's latest round of Guild Wars 2 beta coverage! We looked at the game from the perspective of both a Guild Wars fan and a total newbie to the franchise; we showed off the game's stellar character creation system; we discussed glory and world vs. world PvP; we demonstrated how the player Charr storylines diverge; and we answered some of your best beta questions.

In between all that, we even covered some other MMO news, the best of which is summed up after the break!
Gaming / Guild Wars 2 Is A Hot Topic Among Guild Wars Players by tp6gw2: 7:32am On Dec 19, 2012
It's no secret that Guild Wars 2 is a hot topic among Guild Wars players, so every time the smallest leak of information surfaces, excitement ensues. Yet lately we've heard more and more about how this anticipated sequel is not quite ready for prime time. One example is the announcement earlier this month that there will be no GW2 beta in 2012 to buy Guild Wars 2 gold, as was first estimated. Now we hear that GW2 will not even be shown at PAX in late August.
Gaming / We Find Lion's Arch In Guild Wars 2 by tp6gw2: 8:59am On Dec 03, 2012
Lion's Arch, the quintessential Tyrian player hub at http://www.guildwars2gold.org/ , has undergone quite the extensive renovation for Guild Wars 2. Like a special treat during the last beta weekend, town was developed explorable to players the first time -- and what treat it was! As soon as the Rise of Orr and also the accompanying land shift, Lion's Arch once we knew and loved it within the original Guild Wars was flooded. It is raised anew, very near the primary city, and stands to be a monument to piracy, desperation, and inter-species cooperation (not, perhaps, in that order).

Just what exactly makes Lion's Arch awesome? It's considered one of six huge cities which have been the thriving populatiion centers of Tyria even as realize its in Guild Wars 2, and because it doesn't need a single race to lend it culture and purpose, it is possible to bet it have to be pretty special.
Gaming / Guild Wars 2 Lead Writer Bobby Stein by tp6gw2: 8:39am On Nov 29, 2012
What's it want to pen the narrative first of the very anticipated MMORPGs, well, ever? It's quite different from writing a novel or even a screenplay, in line with ArenaNet's Angel McCoy. She joins Guild Wars 2 lead writer Bobby Stein and Peter "The Explorer" Fries a great MMO story-flavored sit-down with fan site Beneath the Pale Tree.

An interview is really a lengthy one (well isn't that writers might be so wordy?), plus it covers a lot of ground including the megalithic sprawl of GW2's narrative, the difficulties inherent in some recoverable format particular races, along with the differences between in-game(http://www.guildwars2gold.org/ ) dialogue and cutscene exposition. There's more thereto, certainly, but honestly the thing is that so huge that we will go finish reading it after we've jotted down this here news post.
Gaming / Declared Caused By Guild Wars 2 by tp6gw2: 6:31am On Nov 28, 2012
Mike O'Brien declared caused by Guild Wars 2's initial public beta weekend was "overwhelming in more ways than one." ArenaNet's president took the time to write down up a quick writing reflecting about the upshot of the last beta weekend plus the reasoning behind this coming Monday's surprise stress test.

In line with O'Brien, even though the feedback on the event was quite positive, they must battle with unexpected interest on the action. Even though the management temporarily put off the capacity for players' capacity to pre-find the title through ArenaNet, the game's 48 servers couldn't support the influx of testers and beta tourists.

It wasn't simply a PR stunt, however. "It was definitely an actual beta, made to find problems, gather player input, and learn what work still has to be done before we ship the overall game," O'Brien stated(http://www.guildwars2gold.org/).

The c's is anticipating a larger crowd with the next beta weekend, and that's why it's running a seven-hour stress test on May 14th to test new changes.
Gaming / If You're Still Wanting by tp6gw2: 10:40am On Nov 22, 2012
When Guild Wars 2's pre-purchase program started two days ago, many fans descended upon their local retailers planning to secure one of its few, highly desired collector's editions. For all lucky enough to get grab one, ArenaNet has posted an enclosed think about the centerpiece in the CE: the Rytlock Brimstone statue.

While team considered statues of of the races, it decided that the Charr was the most iconic and worth star treatment. ArenaNet partnered track of Canada's Happy Worker to fashion the detailed statue that shows Rytlock in reference(http://www.guildwars2gold.org/) to his flaming blade, standing on the field of skulls. The heavy statue is 10 inches tall and painstakingly hand-painted.

If you're still wanting to hunt down a collector's edition of Guild Wars 2, go to the pre-purchase page around the official site for your report on retailers in your country.
Gaming / It Appears To Be Only Fair To Supply Players Exactly The Same by tp6gw2: 10:06am On Nov 19, 2012
Might know about need are fashions to customize our classes a little more -- specialties, playstyle preferences, things that Guild Wars lacked that Guild Wars 2 added. In fact, the main has a setup where your customization was mostly limited by what's in your bar... along with the sequel has since enhanced and refined that since it seems that buttons aren't everything that engaging. Gaming / I Merely Recently Returned To Darkfall For Essentially by tp6gw2: 7:37am On Nov 14, 2012
The identical reasons this informative article describes, that open world a feeling of doing what you would like, Furthermore get a thrill of traversing to a red (or usually with my case, being dead and then visiting a red).

Unfortunately the game is simply too much for my casual game style more recently, which stinks, but I probably go back to it maybe once or twice a year since I started playing. Its not the most beneficial, but at least the devs tried different things then the standard themepark.

Gaming / All That Must Be Thrown Into Your Game by tp6gw2: 8:02am On Nov 13, 2012
One of the better to get in an MMO crack skulls and assist in conquest. I would like to be in an organization jump a group. Or venture out alone and stalk who We've declared an in-game blood feud with. Just to to talk achievable same person subsequently on how the truly amazing job was done catching your partner off guard through her/his self.

The problem I have is time consumption. When you get into house and kingdom degrading then what time would I need to spend inside outside world. The amount time would I have to dedicate to the game. I would like to have the capacity to will end up in a couple of times weekly and not feel as if “damn it so many people are 20 levels greater than I'm”. I hate the need to level anything. I would like to spend countless hours of my short time in game with combat and talking/exploring. Rather than fiddle in arenas, battlegrounds, or other sort of pvp sports.

I prefer the kind of combat skills of you know when to block and strike. I do not like melee/ranged non-magical combat where I have to swing a weapon X variety of times to be effective. One the down sides We've with Skyrim and Darkfall no matter what “fast” it truly is to level up skills. I ought to be able to choose any weapon I would like and employ it promptly. I am unable to stand locked from your weapon or possibly a vehicle/mount because I haven't met the amount/skill requirement(s). An issue I've got with MMOs and First Person Shooters.

Transpire in game should be to support my buddies in game in a very combat role, make them take land, and route out anyone who attacks them. Even though I've got to avenge my mate by going across the entire game world to get see your face before that individual logs off with the night/morning.

Combat needs to be about Goals>Strategy>Operations>Tactics>Individual Skill.

Oh along with a trophy system to use my weapon/armor up before it degrades entirely. The trophy system should permit writing an account and maybe some pictures drawn in game to inform tales in the weapon/armor.http://www.buydarkfallgold.net/darkfall-power-leveling.html
Gaming / You're Going To Roll When Darkfall by tp6gw2: 9:46am On Nov 12, 2012
Still having a hard time trying to decide what you're going to roll when Darkfall: http://www.buydarkfallgold.net/darkfall-power-leveling.html Unholy Wars releases next month? Well, here's another candidate for your approval: the Deadeye.

The Deadeye is a sub-class in the Skirmisher role that focuses on ranged damage. A trusty bow is all the Deadeye needs to bring the pain to single and multiple targets. Some of the class' skills include an unstoppable arrow, a ranged debuff, a salvage of arrows, an exploding arrow, and a dead-on Trueshot attack.
Gaming / Magic by tp6gw2: 3:48am On Nov 09, 2012
Magic is broken up into many schools, each with their own spells. In addition to skilling up each school of magic, each spell acts as its own skill. The more you cast a spell, the better you will become with it. Higher skilled spells will evolve and start to travel faster through the air, do more damage, or even shoot multiple projectiles.

Like archery, firing spells at your enemy will require some degree of coordination because they need to be manually aimed. The good news is that magic is a lot easier to aim than your bow because your spells will travel in a straight line exactly to where your crosshair is pointed without arcing. In addition to the ease of aiming and obvious range advantages, many of Darkfall spells have splash damage that can hit a target if your shot is close enough, or even hit multiple targets.

Magic does come with its disadvantages as well. Most of the spells in the game require a reagent or component to cast with the exception of the starter spells. This means the life of a mage can be costly, and skilling up spells and school with components can be a hard road. As such, starting the game as a pure mage right out of the gate will come off as extremely difficult. Spells are also easier to dodge than arrows at range because they are easier to spot and generally travel slower through the air. Magic also has a tendency to fizzle more when you are wearing heavier armor, but there is an armored magic casting skill that helps offset it a little if you are able to skill it up.

Those who delve deep into magic will also be forced later on to make decisions about which schools to pursue. New spells and schools of magic are unlocked as you progress through prerequisite school, but some restrictions start to show up down the road. Darkfall does not let you specialize in schools of magic that are polar opposites, such as Fire and Water, Earth and Air. You can have 2 out of the 4 elements, as long as they don't clash with each other, but your end game plans will need to be thought out to avoid training in the wrong areas.

Gaming / I Don't Think They Need A Full On New Tutorial Area by tp6gw2: 2:57am On Nov 08, 2012
I don't think they need a full on new tutorial area so mush as just some tweaks. I suggest making the beginning more like the rest of the personal story by making it solo with the option to invite other players into it. Add a few more npcs fighting and maybe even some "guardian" type npcs that tag along with you right at the beginning to give a full feel. Show some npcs fighting that use the dodge mechanic and at some point on the way to the final boss maybe a quick cut scene telling you to hit "V" or the assigned button to dodge while fighting a mob. I would like to see something thrown in that actually makes you a hero, too, rather than just the fact we were there to witness it. For those who just want to skip it all, an option on that first npc, perhaps saying something to the effect of, "I don't have time for your problems, I have wars to get too." With a warning upon that selection saying, "You are leaving the starter tutorial. You will not be able to come back to this. Are you sure you want to continue?"

Gaming / The Focus by tp6gw2: 8:12am On Nov 07, 2012
The focus is a support off-hand. Ray of Judgement sends out a bouncing projectile that bounces four times. If it hits an enemy it deals damage and blinds, if it hits an ally then it provides regeneration. Shield of Wrath provides three blocks and deals a good bit of damage when it ends.

Gaming / Legacy Of The Foefire by tp6gw2: 2:07am On Nov 05, 2012
I plead guilty to hitting the guild lords door and sprinting off. When your team is behind and or losing at sanctum it can relieve pressure. I've yet to play with an organized team on vent or otherwise, so I am always pugging it.

There have been times when I've taken the door and soloed most of the guards before being attacked however, which has been beneficial even when I failed on the guild Lord, because it gave my team and I an easy shot at the guild lord later.

As red, I typically dash for waterfall, take it and run for the other teams guild door for a quick "knock-knock" and then move on to center. If no one is around and I've taken the door down a bit I usually stay with it until the door is down for reasons stated above.

My ranger build works great on this map: Axe/Warhorn/Shortbow with earth sigil, hydromancy sigil, and energy sigil and one utility dedicated to AE control for slowing people down. I take the spirit elite for the group rez and condition cleanse. My 6 runes of Lyssa give me removal of all conditions and getting all boons when using an elite. Popping my elite at sanctum has turned the tide at sanctum every time I've used it.

Gaming / [gw2]spear - Illusionary Mariner by tp6gw2: 2:46am On Nov 02, 2012
The Illusionary Mariner is one of two underwater Phantasms, the second being on the Trident. As there are only two weapon sets underwater, it's highly likely that you'll use this Phantasm on a regular basis. Whether or not it is your favourite out of the two depends entirely on whether you prefer a ranged or melee based playstyle. The Mariner deals a series of attacks incredibly quickly (8 times in total) while also evading your target, making it incredibly powerful. With a 10.4 second duration between attacks however, you'll be fortunate to see it attack more than once before it is killed. Out of both the Mariner or Whaler, I much prefer the former simply because of its attack animation and raw damage.
