I was thinking of submitting a one year statement so they can see the last annual salary, the money that has entered my account within this one year is about 16.5million naira, in my account history I have had huge sum of money like 5mill,2mill, 6mill and so on enter my account, so this 3mill isn't the first huge amount entering my account, I just felt they will look at the history of my account before determining if it's money lodgement or not, my account has a very good financial standing, the history is very good, so right now I'm just confused cos I don't know if they will still term it as money lodgement after seeing how good the history of my account has been for the past one year, even the 6months history is very good too but I thought of submitting one year so they can see my last annual salary.
It is not a bad idea if you decided to make a point by tendering a 12 months bank statement, that is allowed: ensure that you are able to justify the multiple lodgement.

1. State it exactly how you did here.

2. Present both accounts
Yes, presenting both acounts would help if the chief account shows the source of the money.

Good morning, My question goes to justwise,vicjustice,worry359,Askari01 and ALL the gurus in the house... I just transferred 3million naira from my company acct to my savings acct for the trip I'm planning to the uk with my wife, I'm about to book for an appointment tomorrow, please how do I explain to the Eco that this isn't money lodgement and what evidence can I show? Thanks for your responses.

You asked how you can explain to ECO that it is not money lodgment, but as a matter of fact that action alone is the exact definition of money lodgment.
Well, if the three million Naira that you transfeed does not make the majority of the fund in your bank statements, then it should be fine. But if it makes a significant part of the amount in your account, then I will advise that you cancel your intention until after 6 months when you must have built up transactions upon the N3000000 so you can produce the statement that will not show the origin of the three million naira

Thanks for your prompt response Vicjustice, I live with my mum and dad, and also assist my dad in his company as an IT specialist, hope that counts?
That should do.
Let me use this opportunity to explain the issue regarding student visa application and home ties: now, unlike tourist visa application that strongly demands applicants to demonstrate convincing ties, students are expected to demonstrate why they chose the course, why the school, what their sponsor will gain from their education and what they intend to do after their studies.

hello Vicjustice
I'm currently undergoing my youth service, and intend applying for a Master's degree in Canada mid next year precisely, but my fear is, with the way the dollar and been maltreating the naira for months eh.
my question is how do I show hone ties? cause my dad has 2 houses in portharcout (estimated 90million naira) and a residential house in Lagos (estimated 10 million) , and he and my brother who is a UK citizen are ganna sponsor the entire program! does that shows strong home tie?
and what else do Canada VO look at when applying for VISA?
Land properties do not often represent home tie since they do not really need managerial operation, however, the magnitude of the assets may be considered. By the way, would you be able to convince the visa officer of how these properties represent your own ties?

please am sure we have well experienced people here.... please I am applying for USA tourist visa with my husband, we 're married with 2 kids, but my kids are not going with us.. just me and husby alone. we have our marriage cert, our children birth cert and other documents. but my question is that.. I and my children bear my husband middle name as our surname and not his own surname... Plz will the name affect us at the embassy? NOTE: my husband middle name is on his passport ooo
It is not a requirement that a woman must bear her husband's surname, the visa officer will primarily be concerned in the names on your Marriage Certificate
The surname on your kids document will not affect you mainly because the kids are not traveling with you, and if they would be travelling with you, then you may need additional documents to prove that they are indeed your children.

Does Uk , Canada and maybe Australia confirm an applicants account balance?

How possibe is it that they identify a forged statement of account cus i currently have an original and fake.

The fake became necessary after i discovered my acc balance was short so an agent created a forged one with adequate balance.

I havent lodged my application yet though

Please I need your help, I was denied based on the fact that I wrote cost to me personally as 2000pounds n my statement of account did not show up to that, though I indicated that my husband was sponsoring the trip which dey said dey are satisfied with that, the only problem is d money in my account which is short of about 800pounds..... I want to reapply, can I maintain d same amount and credit my account or reduce d cost to me personally..... Your response please urgently
Crediting your account will be deemed money lodgment which is an expressed reason for visa refusal.
Unless your financial circumstance has improved, you will be wasting your money if you reapplied.

Hi Nairalanders, pls this question is for justwise, Vic justice and all the visa gurus in the house, thanks in advance to your responses...
I'm planning on traveling to the uk to spend 3weeks for a family visit, I'm a director in a company but I haven't started getting income since it's fairly new, I have my tax clearance, c.a.c, T.I.N and statement of account for the company, I plan on spending from my wife's acct where I am also a signatory to this same acct for the past one year, and we have a balance of 3000,000 Naira in it, pls is this good enough?
P.S ...
Please everyone, I need your help, I wrote the IELTS test last year and my wife and I later decided not to relocate to the uk, now I want to apply for a standard visit visa and I do not know if I should mention it in my application that I wrote the spouse settlement English test IELTS last year but my wife decided not to relocate back to the uk, because she got a better job offer here as an expertrate, therefore I didn't have any need for the IELTS test result, or should I just skip this part on my application ? I don't want them thinking I'm running because I'm clearly not.
If you withhold any information, and they found it out, you would get into trouble: you could be banned for 10 years.

I really do appreciate this thread.
Speaking about ties, I was at the US Consulate in February, the consular asked me 5 qsts which I know I answered perfectly well.

1. Why am I going to the US?
And: A wedding
2. What's the relationship with d person am going to see?
Ans : Brother
3. Do I have any travelling experience?
And: Yes, South Africa, France, UAE
4. Am I married?
And: Yes
5. Do I have kids?
And: No

I was surprised after this he told me he was sorry he couldn't grant me a visa to his country and I asked him why would he do such a thing he said I wasnt able to demonstrate a tie with my country.

What was wrong there please?
Well, except you are a very wealthy person or you have a very serious commitment in Nigeria, the purpose for which you want to go to the US would be deemed trivial and that can result in visa refusal.
Please, understand that family commitment is not as weighty as occupational commitment.

Please mr op I really appreciate this piece of information
I really intend running my masters program in geology and right now I'm thinking of a cheap country to do it and from what I saw I some quotes above I think Poland will be fine
Please boss I beg of u can u give me a guide line on how to apply for a polish visa and is it possible for me to school and work over there how much will it cost me applying for a visa from Nigeria and finally I'm also an aspiring football player is it possible for me to school and pursue my career as a football player over there in Poland
Please I will really appreciate it if u will reply me as soon as possible and give me your sincere opinions
Thanks a million
God bless u
Poland may be cheaper regarding house rent and (some) utility bills, but i tell you, shopping is not at all cheap: even food and clothes shopping are not cheap, in many cases, they are even more expensive than in western Europe. And to make things more negative, you can't really find a normal job in Poland, and even if you manage to find one, the wages are discouraging.
Unless you have financial means (from elsewhere) to maintain yourself otherwise, i wouldn't encourage you to go to Poland if you are hoping to sustain yourself by working while being a student.

Thanks Vicjustice, justwise, cozybunch, you guys really have done justice to issues, frankly will a loan disbursement by my bank amount to money lodgement, as i have some projects and contributions that take a chunk of my salary. My salary is #250k
I'm also into a monthly esusu which comes to #900k per contributor, can i attach that as well, but it will be paid by the different contributors once it is my turn
my contribution leaves my account monthly and its multiple on my turn
Your salary is not bad, but explaing all these undocumented contributions and loan disbursement is not what a visa officer wants to hear.
Do not complicate things: with your genuine salary of N250k per month, just build up a reasonable sum that doesn't need explanation and apply for the visa in due time.

Good day,

Am a bonfide student in one university in Ireland, have paid school fees in full, lodged my living expenses in bank for the one year programme, secured a permanent accommodation and commenced lectures. I travelled to Uk from Ireland to pick up some things, was only asked for ID card and I presented such and was granted entry to UK. In Uk I encountered immigration and was asked to return to Nigeria and not Dublin because I didn't possess lawful document to enter. (made every effort for Dublin transit but was impossible as I was granted single entry which I have used when I entered Dublin). Came back to Nigeria and reapplied for entry visa with letters from school,my landlord and other documentations. The application came out refused with right of appeal because of IH-immigration history. Last year Uk restricted me (termed - deception) from making application of such category (except in other categories) for certain period because of Innocent mistake I made in UKBA application form. Despite the restriction from Uk I came clean with Dublin, told the whole story and they granted me student visa.

In your legal and expertise opinion, the appeal will be in written form, how may I address this Immigration History for a fair chance of the earlier decision reversal? Are you able to recommend an immigration lawyer or one knowledgeable to help me, I need one please.

Thank you and God bless. Keep up the good work.

While the border between the UK and the Republic Of Ireland may seem open to everyone, the onus is on the traveler to ensure he is eligible to cross it: therefore, whoever crosses the border illegitimately may be punished even with a ban.
To be honest, i'm surprised that you were still given an Irish visa despite the UK ban, surprised because, the UK and Ireland shares same immigration database.
As for appealing the ban, I doubt it will be successful because, by your own admission, you made a representation which they deemed deception: however, if you want to proceed with contesting the decision, then you may search for a lawyer on Google. Remember not to pay any substantial amount of money (online) until you meet the lawyer in person and discuss the issues and enquire to know your chance of success.

Thank you Victjusice, i actually don't want to invite him for now for personal reason and he's aware about my reason. However, can he still use paid hotel during his stay? But my fear is they will see it on his application form that he claim he know someone in Ireland and our surname will definitely match. Even if he say he did not know anyone in Ireland, they may search the surname and will definitely bring out my surname to match his. Not sure if he can use hotel and at the same time claim he know someone here, but won't they say why can't he stay with the person he claim he know?

Thank you.
In my previous reply, i went further to explain the scenarios, even answering this (follow-up) question in advance.
Well, if you are not inviting him, then, he can not officially state that he is staying with you.
Now, the fact that he has a relative in Ireland does not mean that he must stay with the relative: it is allowed for him to stay in a hotel or any where else. If you care so much about him staying in your property, then, let him stay unofficially.

Hello Vicjustice,

Is it possible to write a letter of accommodation for my biological when i am not inviting him. He just renewed his South Africa visa and wish to visit me in Ireland and then head to South Africa and back to lagos. He's working full time and has enough money to sponsor himself, but i and him concluded he shouldn't use hotel reservation because there is an option in the online application form where he will be asked if he know anyone here and there is no reason why he should lie by saying no, so he need to say yes, which is me, but i i'm not inviting him because i am not in a position to sponsor him. I am not working at the moment, but is it okay for me to offer him only accommodation letter with copy of my residency?
You have to invite him for him to stay in your property (whether rented or owned), he would be refused without invitation as it not logical for him to stay in your property without invitation.
Note that invitation does not mean that you have to be financially responsible for him, it just means that you are consenting to accountability for (his) coming into the country: it is allowed to invite a person without letting him stay in your property, but it is illogical to let a person stay in your property without invitation: he would be refused.

In the instance that I gave, the "Retirement Savings Account" will not add any "strength" to your application because, saving N1000 monthly will amount to N12000 in a year, so, that would hold no water.

PLEASE URGENT!!! Please can the school in US that gave me admission be of any help in facilitating my acquiring a student visa when i have all the supporting genuine documents and the embassy still refuse to grant me a visa.
Absolutely no, the school can not influence your visa application nor do they interfere with diplomatic issues.

amakachigerry:

Also in your own thought, which embassy is better in granting visas? Abuja or Lagos?
Just like asking which is heavier between 1kg of water and 1kg of sand, or which is faster between the front and rear wheel of a car.

amakachigerry:

Can reapply immediately or do i have to wait for some weeks or months. My session will be starting by August.
Finally, my supporting documents are bearing April dates, do i need a to get another documents with fresh dates when reapplying (Bank statements and letter of sponsorship).
You can reapply any time, but it's not recommended if the reason for previous refusal is related to finance.

Thanks sir! I've learnt my lesson, the hard way.
just to put clarity. If you're asked about previous passport, simply state that it has expired. You do not need to volunteer the information in relation to the wrong data: I was only referring to the unlikely event that you are faced with the issue when I said that "you can always maintain that you refused to use it because of the errors in the data"
Travel / Re: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Vicjustice: 2:40pm On Mar 25, 2016

The passport contains a passport number as well as the previous passport number. Some people here have such information on their passports too. Also, the passport was not used for any travelling purpose till it expired, I did not use it at any embassy. What do you think about this?
Though, they would be interested to know what's in the previous passport, but that won't be possible.
Now, if you didn't used the passport for any visa application, then you should be fine because, there is no way that any embassy can tell the information in the previous passport: besides, you can always maintain that you refused to use it because of the errors in the data.
It would have been very bad if an embassy had a hold of the passport (they would have saved the details in their system). So, rejoice!

Hello everyone,

I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actaully paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?

Thanks for your useful contributions.
What do you mean "the new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page"? I just checked two Nigerian passports, and i could only see their individual numbers.
By the way, has your previous passport been used before for visa application?
If so, what year was it used?
Was the application successful?
What embassy?

Good evening Vicjustice, Justwise and worry 359, please help me out, sometimes in 2014, I applied for a uk visa and was denied cause I used my uncle as my sponsor, and we made a mistake of not indicating how much he was going to spend on me for the trip.

Secondly, my friend's signature on his passport was different from the one on the invitation. These were the reasons for the first refusal.

In 2015, I applied again but was denied, it was stated that I did cash lodgement, for your information, the company I worked for had issues with the bank, so we stopped receiving salaries through that particular bank. He never allowed us to open another salary account, instead we collect salary by hand.

Meanwhile, whenever I received salary I always use my company as the depositor.

I have a company that has been registered since 2014, and I want to apply for uk visa.

Please can you be of guide on how to package my application?

Thank you as I await your response.
First of all, anyone who is not your parent or sibling is not deemed eligible to sponsor your trip except there is obvious benefit in doing so.
Secondly, inconsistent signatures either indicate a probable fraud or that the signatory is erratic.
Thirdly, any method of payment that does not conform to electronic bank crediting is unacceptable, and no explanation can justify it.

I can't really be a guide, but i am happy to be of help where i can.
