so how did you learn yours?

Well, I was born in the countryside and I was surrounded by native speakers of my language. Besides, some of the relatives I lived with didn't speak English, so that was a plus.

I only spoke English in school and I used my vernacular for everything else.

My parents did a very good job :both of them spoke to us in our native language
I was born in a french speaking country (both my parents are nigerians) ,the first language I learnt was french (school)
With my siblings sometimes we would speak in our native language or in french when around other kids
Then ,it's funny but I had to learn english when I visited Nigeria or when I moved to the states
I could understand english though

I'm still learning my language, i understand most words but i can't seem to pronounce it well with the right accent. it just sounds wrong

i saw ma self blowing d language(ibo). Bt as 4 english, i learnd it in skul.

My Mother taught me our mother tongue of Igbo, whilst my father taught me the Yoruba language since he grew up among the Yorubas since age 9.
