Sorry, can't help with the screen issue. If its a popular device I can direct you to where you can get the screen repaired. But you can still try Zoom, maybe they can swap with the screen on a non-working unit.

iPhone 4S:

The model number on the back cover is:
A1387 on the iPhone 4S
The front and back surfaces are flat and made of glass.
There is a stainless steel band around the edges.
The volume up and down buttons are marked with a "+" and "-" sign.
The device can support CDMA or GSM functionality.
There is a SIM tray on the right side that holds a "third form factor" (3FF) micro-SIM card for GSM functionality.
