Lmao!!!

Tolaaaaannni: This are my favorite african attire
Nigeria- I love aso oke from the yoruba. (And im not being biased here)
Nigeria- I also like the edo traditional attire
Nigeria- I like the fulani traditional attire.
Eritrea- I like the eritrean zuria
Somalia- I like their Diraac, but Im not going to post a picture because of some somali hating bantus that might misunderstand it for being obsessed and feeling inferior.
I also like kenyan attire

You don't have to say that. grin Personally I think they are the best when it comes to weddings. The fusion of colors, etc.
Hell, I even have a Yoruba wedding to attend tonight, but the iyawo is American. Hope it's more Yorubaish than American. No offense to my Americanas. cheesy

staying on topic... i love this dashiki i bought in accra, i love rocking it with my igbo red hat (nairaland igbos, bite me!). then my kabiyesi cap in damask can never go wrong. and of course, as an ovbiedo kpataki, my long sleeve iwu with the royal swords ada and eben crested on it, is always a killer!
Re: Which Other African Attire Do You Like? by Nobody: 6:36pm On Aug 05, 2012
That kabiyesi hat is the ugliest of Yoruba traditional hats. I don't like how they look sad

I like this type from Ekiti state:

^^^ That's my Gov, y'all cool
Re: Which Other African Attire Do You Like? by member58: 6:48pm On Aug 05, 2012
lol..how can u say that? the kabiyesi hat has a distinctive look that makes it unique. isnt it what the alaafin rocks? hey, i guess it is reserved for powerful monarchs... but that ur ekiti hat looks like a blue version of the igbo red hat which also comes in black..

Yea, I suppose. But it's just not something I'd my bootycall to wear.
Chaiii!! Stop that one o @ last sentence. The Igbo red hat looks like the version of Ekiti hat (comes in multiple colors).

The right spelling for it is actually Bini(eg: bini people, bini culture etc)
but when addressing the city its mostly written as 'Benin city'

shymmex: Conclusion:

GELE IS A YORUBA ATTIRE WHICH LATER BECAME A SOUTHERN NIGERIAN ATTIRE!!!

If you've got a problem with the statement, let's debate it... I've got pictures of 17th century Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Efik etc. women - and we should be able to see what they had on their heads...

Some people just like arguing like re.tards!! undecided undecided

I'd like to see some of the 17th century 'geles'. I believe its root comes from outside Nigeria, or at least multiple sources.
