let the rhymes flow
Like you dont even know

Let the poets speak
Of worries at their peak

Let the rhymes flow
I cry like am low

Veteran of poetic garb
I call on you with less nab

Let the rhymes flow,

, HE MUST BE BLIND,
Though I do not know the dude
Am sure like day that he is blind
For who on earth with good
Sight would see your beaut and
Use the cart like he cowardly did

I used to think angels hide
In the cloudy sky like a bird
With no thought of the sand
But when I saw you it dawned
On me that angels roam the sand

Oh angel bother less of the blind
For he can't see and would
Not see so why stay bothered
When here stands a man not blind

the vultures are lurking, awaiting their prey
i am in a limbo, will they have their way

they sit in the dark, carefully watching
in they daytime they follow stealthily stalking

should i be afraid or should i flee
either way they will never let me be

the vultures are lurking, awaiting their prey
i am in a limbo, will they have their way

Once upon a time
everyone wanted to ryhme

Then, Colors was full of colours

Meexteriox was being mysterious

BTT was an interesting entity

Cbase was at the surface

Princessa, well above the bar

others had enough offers

But all of a sudden
the tread became boring

what is wrong
must be so strong.

There is no more lustre,
but we need a refire

and how shall this be
if not with you and me? sad

He’s cutely,
She’s pretty.

He knows he’s handsome,
He knows he’s lonesome.

She knows she’s a beauty,
She’s lonely.

He says “A walk will do me fine”
She says “I’ll go out, dazzle and shine”.

The stage was set,
That was how they met.

She shined and bedazzled he,
He simply mesmerized She.

They both stared wide-eyed,
The die was cast,
He recovered first and smiled,
Hormones really work fast.

She smiled back,
And he said to her

“Where you’re from I don’t know
But thank God, today you showed
Here, let’s sit together,
Let’s get to know each other,
There’s no how
Am letting you go now,
You’ll be my She
And I’ll be you’re He”.

She said “when you look at me,
It’s a look of one, who really loves me,
Who wouldn’t put anything in the world above me,
And tonight, this eve,
You’ll be Adam, and I’ll be your Eve”.

He wants to hold her hands,
To be the one to wipe her tears,
To be her shoulder and knee,
A friend when she’s in need.

She wants to be her baby,
Coz she wants to have his baby,
To live together, share together,
And help each other.

He wants to wake up to her sweet face,
Tomorrow and always,
And for all her days,
She wants to stay with him, in his place.

Ain’t this Love at first sight?
A tale of Two as evening approached Night.

The He and The She.

There it lies
My Bane,
A feast of flies
In it, there's no Gain.

I talk of women
young and old alike
pitfalls and snares to men
young and old alike.

But I'll overcome, I'll walk the Mile,
each step with smile,
My goal to reach the end,
and never from the right way bend.

Where Oh where
Are my little folks gone
With their rhymes nowhere
And their pens all drawn

Where O where
Are Nairalanders rhymers gone!

I've Got Money On My Mind,
I Don't Wanna Stay Behind,
I Just Wanna Go With The Wind,
To A Place Where The Treasures I'll Find

I've got my mind on money
I'm Young, the day for me is still sunny
I know it sounds funny
but in these times, I want my fair share of milk and honey.

Some thoughts are better kept unsaid
Till when in action be said.
I just want in silence lay siege
For feelings unexpressed.
Re: Rhymes by cbase: 6:54pm On Feb 17, 2010
Wish I simple
like the tree be.
Whine and bend
to the gentle caress of the wind.
Re: Rhymes by BTT(m): 10:43pm On Feb 18, 2010
Cbase
Uh, you are back to base
Wish all other folks
Will bring their brains and bulk
And treat their minds to rhyme again

Cbase, my kin
I long for the old wineskin

Get the party together
Again
Re: Rhymes by cbase: 8:19pm On Feb 21, 2010
Yeah BTT

Re: Rhymes by cbase: 12:56pm On Mar 01, 2010
Once we used to rhyme
everybody just doing fine
BTT was here
Colors
there,
Oreshade over here
Opi-ororo over there
Spiceyblue was spicing things up
Princesa
, with her rhymes was no flop
Nice's rhymes were beautifuly nice,
with a flavor and aroma like jollof rice,
Candide was simply candid,
spinning her rhymes, rapidly
Acan and Cayon, were superb too with their rhymes,
they drop it hot at all times.
He spunned his lines, fast and furious
i speak of no other, than the Great Mysteriox,
We even had some noise makers who thought rhyming was rapping,
Sofa-dj and Bank-head, but i want to believe, they're rhymers in the making. grin

But look at us now,
don't even ask how.

*sighs* what a pity embarassed
in this thread a rhymers city
How the mighty have fallen
Lord, am so sad and sullen, cry
why's everyoune gone?
here looks so deserted, should i buy a Gun?
just for protection you know,
who knows, these days who doesn't have a foe,
come my friendz, please come back
come on fellaz, don't you leave me in the dark,
i don't wanna rhyme alone
I'm not Faze alone.

The tallest palm is gone, cut before its prime
The villagers ponder, what was his crime?
He was upright and kind, gave even his last dime
But they slew him anyway, way before his time;

Now the palm wine tappers gather, their source of wine is gone
then suddenly they remember- surely he had a son?
But Okoro in great fear has long packed up and run
For the same fate that befell his father may be his when they are done

i don't blame the boy for running
when the villagers came for his dad, gunning,
Tis a pity, but there won't any drinking,
I wonder what they were thinking.

Colors, its sweet having you back
back to the rhyming pack.

Ah, its true that I vanished without a trace
Leaving the Rhyme kingdom in the good hands of Cbase
But lo, I’ve returned from travels afar
I’ve been wasting time chasing after falling stars

To my utter surprise and considerable confusion
I seem to have reached one strange conclusion:
Wherever my dreams may wander and my heart may roam
All astral paths I pursue lead me right back home…
Re: Rhymes by cbase: 12:19am On Mar 29, 2010
is that you, candy?
ur new name's pretty grin

Home calls to us all
and when it does, you can't stall

don't be down 'bout the stars
they'll fall one day to ur hands
rhyme when ur confused
twill help u conclude.

welcome home,
Home sweet home.

Crayfish Power

My First days, In the Land of the British
I always felt all feverish,
so jittery and shiverish,
Met a woman who always spoke gibberish,
she told me about the Nations Crayfish
and their power to Nourish.
I became a sucker for crayfish.
It have all my fears abolished,
taught me to entertain no rubbish,
to be neither sluggish, nor foolish,
neither the punisher, nor the punished.
My old me, it demolished,
built a new me, Impeccable and polished.
Re: Rhymes by BTT(m): 7:58am On Jun 09, 2010
I sneaked here
Hoping-in fear
To meet someone dear
Who'll make my heart tear

Alas!
Torn it has
My frail heart like a loss a*s*s
Is turn and torn as I pass
Through this City of ours
-Even Cbase has rested on his oars-
All and all have left the class
Has this thread soon come to pass?

We admire, we aspire; we thresh the earth looking for something we desire. Now that we aquire all that we require,it gets dawn on us that we are yet to achieve success, cus we often build our fortress while leaving others in distress.
Re: Rhymes by slikdude: 12:57am On Jul 08, 2010
ok, now it's my turn to rhyme/
i'm a young man in my prime/
who cherishes nothing more than his time/
a stitch in time, my friends, saves nine/
so says the proverbial line/
so i work real hard to make my life much fine/
that comfort and wealth at last be mine/

HE SAID…SHE SAID

He said he needed a friend; she said she wanted more.
He said he loved her body; she said she wasn’t a LovePeddler.
She said she wanted a home and kids; he said it was neither nor.
He said he was too young to settle down; she said he’d never said that before.

she said he’d promised her forever; he said it was all folklore.
She said she thought he loved her so; he said loving her was a chore.
He said she was a good lay; she said it was an insult she couldn’t ignore.

She said she was stupid to believe him; he said she was such a bore.
He said he needed space to breathe; she said please hit the door!”

He said goodbye and walked away; she wished she’d stayed with Victor!

Joecoolorenzo' whadda fine name,
4 a man who sure knows the game.
Your words were well heard,
well played, well done.
Mr. Mexican 9ja, thou art Welcomed.

Rhyming 4 me's so wholesome,
keeps me company, when lonesome,
when i write, i feel my brain must be handsome,
the way it does my work, doing the sum,
Erasing some, leaving some

Re: Rhymes by cbase: 1:27pm On Oct 09, 2010
Joe thanks 4 lettin' us know we rock,
you're now part of the block,
The rhyming flock,
Rhyming round the clock,
Tick-tock, tick-tock,
Breaking our heartz lock,
Delving deep in rhythmic muck,
Our emotions & passion we pluck,
For roughtimes & sadness, though it sucks,
For goodtimes, happiness, the smiles & hurts,
For the joy, for the glory, for the bucks.
Spinnin' my rhymes, I don't give a f*ck,
though I don't play with ma food, knives & fork,
Poppin' ma gulder, its taste tinglin' down ma gut,
forgettin' not  to look under the cork,
who knows I might be in luck.
Come hen, Come cocks,
Come Nuns, Come sluts,
But me no buts,
whether you live in mansion or you stay in huts,
I have spoons, I have knives, I have forks,
Come, draw nigh, dig in, into my rhyme pot,
Enjoy, While tis still hot
Throw me a rhyme knock,
I promise I won't duck,
But give me a cut,
I'll kick your BUTT.
lol.

Dont kil reason in thd alter of rhymin
dat wud b mor lyk pantomimin
let the words we rhyme be choosen
let it have some level of reason
and an appreciatin meanin
we dont to rhyme for writin
we do it for fun and learnin
anybody can rhyme words
so we gota do ours wit meaninful cords
so that the reader gets tutored n ntertaind
while the purpose is stil maintained
dis advice aint for debatin
i'd welcom words so apreciatin
so lets get dis shit crackin
while we make dis crib d mor fascinatin.

When darkness falls and were apart
Can love heal this lonely heart
I love you dearly that I do
Sleep is good when dreaming of you
With all my love I give to you
You are so sweet I know not how I'm with you
Re: Rhymes by LORDZIDANE(f): 9:45pm On Jan 03, 2011
I am not really a watch lover
I could just settle with a no-brander
Which I have been wearing for a 7-year
To replace it with a better watch was never

Until I was told about the Louis Moinet watch
That stirs my curiosity and interest to botch
And when I finally saw it I was debauched
Want it to strap around my arm as a wristwatch

But it has to remain behind the glass window
Beyond my possession or borrow
For I could not afford this gold
Guess I should just admire it afar until it's sold

Every night holds a secret,
Every dark place a mystery
There s always something behind the veil,
worlds waiting to be seen.
