TECHNOLOGY AS A CRITICAL TOOL FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
Workshop and Software Exhibition

1. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE AND OVERVIEW
For the vision 2020-20 which speaks of poverty alleviation, large scale job empowerment and reduction in security issues -to be achieved, the generation of today must be empowered. To be empowered is to be adequately informed and equipped with the right tools and that tool is technology.
Today’s technology is the most potent tool for youth empowerment and national transformation.
It is important to note that in this age everything that can be free within the technology sphere would become free, from the necessary tools to the working suites and options to readymade and user friendly office packages. All that is left is the technical know-how to optimize these platforms. This is indeed a big advantage and a necessary window to be explored for mass empowerment.
The INFOPRENUERSHIP PROJECT 2012 would train its participant to move in this direction.
The project is in two phases: Phase One trains a 100 developers/ technology personnel, and 20 nominated IT staff from selected organizations. And mentors them throughout the four weekends of September, 2012.
The same training would hold in phase Two, but in one day for an general audience of about 450 participants.:
