Mate in Uruguay means much of their culture, cementing a very interesting phenomenon that has been studied. Arguably mate is one of the foundation stones of Uruguayan culture as Native drank it before colonization. Mate is a traditional drink of the South American region comprising Paraguay, Argentina, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and Uruguay. It is a tea that is made from the yerba mate plant of the same name. In different regions named the mate takes different denominations and drink in different ways. In Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina northeastern provinces known as TererĂ© and drink cold water. In Brazil adopts the name ChimarrĂ£o Portuguese and drink hot water as Uruguayan mate. In Uruguay the mate is the national drink and is considered the maximum consumer countries mentioned. Percentages Uruguay is the world's largest consumer of yerba mate. Uruguayan Mate eaten hot and bitter. The bitter taste is caused by tannins, the foam produced is due to the glycosides, and the stimulus that occurs is because of the caffeine. Yerba mate is a tree from which the leaves are extracted for then the product used for the infusion. The dried leaves are crushed and often mixed with other herbs for taste and other results than the classical energy produced mate. Uruguayan Mate is comprised of a set of pieces that make equipment. Water is carried in a thermos that keeps its heat, yerba mate is deposited in a container also called matte obtained from gourd (Lagenaria siceraria), and the water is absorbed by a lightbulb.
