Good evening docs in the house a friend of mine that applied last year to ABU, Zaria got a message this evening to check his caps to either reject or accept the admission given.

He logged in and saw MBBS which he accepted immediately and went to check the school portal and the new change actually reflected.

He was initially given Physiology which he neither accepted nor rejected before preparing for this years' Jamb.

Now, my questions are: is there anyone experiencing same development ? And does anyone here knows any ABU, 100LVL MBBS students on this thread or elsewhere so my friend can reach him/her?

Please help out in anyway you can docs... Thanks in advance

No one can say for sure when the exam will hold but it would definitely hold. They can call for PUTME at any time they feel is most convenient.

The downside is the waiting period before resumption date. Students admitted for the 2019/2020 session were waiting to resume by May this year, apparently the feasibility of that is now zero.

Only God knows when the 2020/2021 set would be resuming.

Let's all just pray for the restoration of normalcy, that's when thing's can be placed in better perspective.

YEAH. I'M STILL OPTIMISTIC CUM PREPARING FOR THE EXAM

Chief TONYE001, your diary, the paths that you have followed, the highs and lows are a testimony to the grace of God in your life.

Asides the motivation, some of your posts made me reflect, most made me laugh, some made my heart sink. However, your resilience, your Pouvir attitude are nothing but awe-inspiring.

Tremendous thanks for reaffirming the fact that impossible is nothing.

Good day everyone a Doc advised me that I should take Medical Laboratory Science before I go to Medical School. I told him I would be quite old when I am done with it and even said I should work for three years then I will take DE.
I asked of the advantages in it and he said it prepares you emotionally and psychologically. I don't know how true this but he said It will even give me an edge. I don't know how true. I have read about the course and It seems okay.
Although he did pharmacy before going to study medicine and he is a big guy(Man) in his late thirties.
Although my score is not good and my waec same(285, 3C5 and 2B3). I chose Unilag and I am a non-south westerner and med lab is competitive from what I heard.
Am I on the right path? Help me pls.

do all doctors study Med lab, no ......I think he meant you will be familiar with what school is all about and have a fore-knowledge about medical school but that doesn't mean you must study Med lab before you become a good doctor.

OK, I would pick vasudevan---
but have you gone through PDF version of the two books?? If you have not, try doing that, compare and contrast them. It will help your decision in deciding on the one to buy.

I always ask Docs why is it that despite the fact Dentistry cut off is quite low, why didn't the school admit a reasonable amount of student and why the low the number of graduands e.g.10,15,30 patpata 35. I always protested that they could open their hospitals and work in teaching hospitals, FMC and specialist hospitals. They always reply that Dentist are not many and their job is quite relaxed compared to Physicians(Nobody should Insult plainly the truth oo). I also asked how many doctors even serve as interns and residents ?I was told that they are more which ought to be. Until I came across this file I felt sorry for Doctors what they go through and Dentist just chill (They work but not tasking, making their cool cash). I hope they build more facilities to accomodate More Dentist so the quota can Increase and maybe some people can go into not necessarily Medicine.

Guy. Dental Education is really expensive. That's why the carrying capacity is low for all the universities offering it. I read a blog sometime ago about a student dentist complaining that the tool they were using I'm their lab is just five and they were up to 40 or so in number. You can see that kinda limitation.

Dental Education is very very expensive. US dental students have to borrow large amounts of loans to put them through dental school, a major disadvantage of dentistry in the US.

Hi Everyone
Goodday
Please, I need help on this issue.

A relative of mine is currently studying medicine in a state university. She's in the middle of her 4th year now, but still officially in 300l and yet to write her 1st MB exam. The problem is that the school is too slow with frequent accreditation problems that have caused a backlog of classes (400lA-C, 500l A-C, 600l A and B). With these delays coupled with the current coronavirus pandemic, the projection for their class now is that the earliest they can graduate is 2025 (someone that's supposed to graduate in 2022 if it's 6 years)

We are wondering if it's possible for her to transfer to another school immediately after she writes her 1st MB exam here and join the 300l second semester/ 400l class over there and complete her programme in 6 years, or at most 7 years. Please, does anyone know which medical schools can accept such a transfer (I did a little research online, and most said the highest transfer they accept is to start 200l). More advice on this issue will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Evening boss. I'm actually not authorised to answer some of the questions but from the look of things. He had forgotten all about ABU since early this year. He wrote Utme and scored 314 and has been preparing hard for UI's putme when he got the sms from Jamb.
It was just God from my own perspective oh. He has seen others in the same situations given admission for some top courses too.
