This is a street not a market and some streets in Aba and Owerri are comparable.

I totally agree with you on the highlighted but I think Aba is getting better than Owerri going by what's on ground in both towns.

@The pictures above, this is another waterlogged underpass loading. This is not different from the tunnel culvert that was recently closed to motorists due to poor and substandard construction. LOL

We all know when demolition started and how it was used as a blackmail with people using age old flood to make headlines blaming Okorocha.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/07/owerri-tears-outrage-demolitions/

In September shameless Ohakim even tackled Okorocha over the ongoing demolitions

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/ohakim-tackles-okorocha-on-demolition/

but 2 months later the level of work has surpassed expectations and I won't be surprised if all the roads are completed in 6 months. That is a record by Nigerian standard.

This is Mbari Street 85% completed going by the design.

What are all this craps they are putting up in the name of beautification, please just plant trees and grasses, remove all those shanties that landlords attached to their buildings and also make law that required all the landlords to repaint their buildings if the need to do so, build sidewalks on top of those ugly open drainage, mark the road well and line the streets with street lights.

Whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well. I'm not a cheerleader and will never celebrate mediocrity.
Look at this picture its Owerri if they can cover the drainage with sidewalk mark the road it will look like any other street in any developed world.

That's what they are fighting the Governor for. The opposition is playing on people's intelligence to resist urban renewal.

Inside-out of Ikeduru General Hospital which is one of the 27 hospitals built by Okorocha which the wailers have been using propaganda to discourage rural dwellers from enjoying. They 1st of all claim that the hospitals were abandoned but when people realized they were completed a new tactics of using malicious lies that Bill Gates helped Okorocha to build the hospitals for organ trafficking was adopted.

Some people are stupid, you guys should appreciate what Rochas is doing, he is focusing on Owerri building infrastructure that will make people say wow! Then they will like to invest which will create employement, just imagine when Owerri becomes the Los Angeles of Africa, one can fly from Lagos, lome, Accra etc to Owerri in the weekend to enjoy casinos, roulet etc.

As for other Areas another gov will come and identify were to focus if it is to create an industrial city in Orlu or any other area, he will. What matters is using the scarce resources to what will yield money
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by tysontim(m): 8:17pm On Nov 26, 2016
I'm from Abia. and were I fault Ť. A Orji was his inability to focus On Aba a city that already have a reputation of being the city with most SMEs in Nigeria. Getting that reputation takes decades, if you think you can get back that reputation back if all the companies fold up, then

But you don't think that you are most stupid with your desire for Rochas Okorocha to use Imo state funds to build you a huge City in Owerri,
while many abandoned road works and floods from absence of drainage system that have been washing out an area like Orlu continue to underdevelop the once thriving town.

For long, I stopped thinking or commenting about Rochas and his group who narrowed Imo state to Owerri.

However, senseless, clannish people like you who blackmailed Okorocha to focus on building your Owerri to become "wow" another New York, after which another governor shall think of Orlu and other towns, folks like you are most irritating. Okorocha is dancing your music. Buy he is dancing to end his political career after 2019.

Nice work, Abagworo! Thanks for keeping this thread alive. When I come home this Yuletide, I hope to see ongoing state/federal projects in my town (not Owerri!). If there's any ongoing projects, I'll snap and upload it here at once. Well done

Okorocha is a political bulldozer and his career will never end 2019. It is true he focused on Owerri this 2nd tenure but unlike those before him development has been spread to every nook and cranny of the State. The past Governors often built one or 2 roads in Owerri and thats all but he built 15km of roads in every LGA, One school in every ward, One solid hospital in every LGA and free education up to uni for everyone. That record is unbeatable.

A state governor who devotes nearly 90% of his development projects in the state capital, as Okorocha is doing, is a most apolitical and naive politician. Next political election, Imo state outside Owerri zone shall close the governor's political structures. This is practical politicking, not your sound bites.

Governor Okorocha who built about six kilometres of urban roads in Orlu, but scrapped and abandoned about fifteen kilometres of urban roads in the same town in the last five years is purposely courting enmity.

Okorocha loves urban towns, for him, good urban roads is it.

You know how large Orlu Urban lga is. it has scores of well-planned streets on flat terrain but mostly without asphalt; the streets are nearly fully built with houses on both sides. Urban drainage system started about 15,years ago not completeld.

Imo state should have been having a second large modern city to be proud of if Okorocha had modernized even half of Orlu urban roads. Udenwa and NDDC did lots of these urban roads, if you can accept the truth, but they were not maintained by Okorocha government.

Look, for three years we have pointed out these facts to Okorocha government, but building Owerri is it for him. I am no more interested in repetitions.

All this story is good and well. What happened to State Assembly that's supposed to be check on his power? They haven't done anything from like withhold funds, reduce his govenor powers or impeachin him. All 27 of those clowns allowed him to run around like mad man.

They betrayed their constituents no doubt. Govenor Rochas isnt a dictator so what's there excuse. I hope you plan to vote of your useless state rep when it's elections come up.

I'm not close to him but the dirt was poured by people like you and I not him. My advice is for people to stop reckless disposal of waste as it will lead to blockage of drainage, subsequent flooding and eventual collapse of roads.

Guy I know Orlu town and there is only one untarred road there. List the imaginary untarred roads and show us. Strictly Orlu town and not villages near Orlu like Owerri Ebeiri or Uzoubi.
