A lot of charities closed after 911 because they were accused of funding terrorism. Some of these funds did not really know their beneficiaries were engaged in terror activities. You may dispute this, but even the US did not know the reach of terror prior of 911. But of course, some of these allegations like Saddam’s Weapons of Mass Destruction were untrue
