After several years of serving our fatherland in various capacities, one expects this illustrious Igbo son to be of more service now to his community and kinsmen as custom demands, Rather than come home, the amiable and well respected former vice president of the federal republic of Nigeria Chief Dr Alex Ekwueme is been stocked in Abuja the federal capital territory playing politics and still searching for yet another political office. Just recently, as he turned 80, I was expecting to hear his retirement from active politics and the celebration of his birthday and thanksgiving service in his home town, but instead he prefers his native home and village Abuja. Maybe and just maybe he will retire like his compatriots whose only time of retirement is in the grave.
