Boko Haram Never Consulted Me Before Choosing Me-buhari by usmanyaro17: 3:15pm On Nov 03, 2012
Miffed at his nomination by the violent Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, former military dictator, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has cried out that the sect did not consult with him before nominating him.

Speaking through his closest confidante, Buba Galadima, who is also the Secretary General if his party, the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC Buhari said "the whole thing to him, is just speculation. And since nobody has contacted him as a person for him to even know who is behind what, and what are the motives of the whole exercise, he would not speak to the press.”

It will be recalled that Boko Haram had named Buhari as a mediator for their side in proposed peace talks which the sect which has murdered thousands wants held in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, a Northern Christian group, Christian Awareness Initiative of Nigeria (CHAIN) has declared that the nomination of Buhari by Boko Haram is an indication that he inspires the group.

In a statement released yesterday the group listed incidences from Buhari's past which tally with some of the aims and objectives of Boko Haram.

NaijaPundit brings you the statement below;

Boko Haram and Buhari-More Than Meets the Eye

Christian Awareness Initiative of Nigeria (CHAIN) notes with considerable alarm that the group known as Boko Haram has identified former Military Head of State and Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) as its nominee in dialogue talks with the Federal Government in pursuance of a ceasefire.

We at CHAIN consider this a major telling point in the exposition of those behind this violent and murderous Islamic sect that has been behind the murders of thousands of innocent Nigerians of all faiths but mostly of the Christian faith.

When we raised the alarm that Muhammadu Buhari’s comments indicated that he is an inspiration to this group we were called all sorts of name, but it may perhaps be wise to remind Nigerians of the following;

i. In 1984 after his successful coup, Buhari who is from the North, named a fellow Northerner and Muslim as his military Vice.
ii. In 2011 at the height of the Shari’a riots in Kaduna, Buhari’s comments inflamed passions when he criticized the FG’s call for temporary suspension of the plan.
iii. In 2002 Buhari openly called on Muslims to vote only Muslim candidates.
iv. In the same 2002, his comments during the ‘Miss World’ riots added fuel to the rioters.
v. In 2011 just before the election Buhari was widely reported to have asked his followers to “lynch” anyone who tried to rig the elections.
vi. After the 2011 elections, Buhari’s supporters spearheaded the Post Election violence that left thousands dead including many Youth Corp Members.
vii. In May 2011, the CPC unashamedly bailed out 600 suspects of the Post Election violence from police cells as reported by Vanguard of May 23, 2011.
viii. After the upsurge in Boko Haram attacks, Muhammadu Buhari has never condemned the activities of the sect.
ix. On the 14th of May, 2012, Buhari while speaking to his supporters in Kaduna declared that “the Dog and the Baboon will both be soaked in blood” in 2015.

And after the aforementioned, we now wake up today to see that the chickens have come home to roost and the masquerade has been unmasked!

Why would Boko Haram choose Muhammadu Buhari, a man who has been tainted by violence to mediate talks? A man who has never hidden his partiality for one religion over Nigeria? Why would Boko Haram choose Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim a man who just two weeks ago threatened Nigeria with fiercer Boko Haram attacks if the Northeast does not get more funding?

We at CHAIN say that there is more to this than meets the eye. We therefore call on Muhammadu Buhari to declare his interests in Boko Haram. We call on him to make a full disclosure on the sect. there are too many coincidences and too many deaths have occurred for us to keep quiet. On Social Media, his boy, Nasir Elrufai, constantly defends the sect, accusing Christians of being behind the bombings and calling on the military Joint Task Force to leave the North. Is it now a coincidence that at a time when the JTF is closing in on the sect that they now spring their Buhari joker?

We recall that it was members of Buhari’s party and inner caucus that were publicly and bitterly critical of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President when he asked the U.S. Congress to declare Boko Haram a terrorist group. These are people that will not condemn Boko Haram but are quick to condemn those who condemn Boko Haram.

We at CHAIN therefore call on Buhari to come out clean and urge Nigerians to note his response or lack of it and make their own judgments as to the matter.

Pastor Caleb Maaji

All revelations about those behind Boko Haram has all shown that they have links with the PDP some have even been linked to the Vice President.

PDP = Boko Haram

Hence this is clearly a PDP ploy to try and discredit Buhari.

People need to think logically about things, why would BH ask announce somebody to represent them who does not even support them?

hoodboy: Why are some nairalanders so prejudiced and myopic in thinking? When Wole soyinka was chosen by militants to represent their talks with Government did we call him a militant leader?

Mend mentioned Soyinka because they believe that Soyinka understood what they were fighting for which was control of oil.
Now, Boko boys mentioned Buhari because they believe that he understands what they are fighting for: total and forceful Islamisation of Nigeria.

In choosing negotiators of this sort, the chooser whether MEND or Boko Haram, would choose someone who would surely represent and protect their interest.

Bors, Buhari's name was not a mistake!

Militants, were fighting a justified fight.
Boko haram is a terrorist organisation, and no sane person will want to associate with them.

Bro, I can assure you that if the man failed to win election in 2011, he will never win again.

However, I must add that the Jihardists North will never reform. If you have the capacity for a revolution, join those who are already working hard to see that Nigeria is restructured.
We either stay a little bit apart by going to regions or we completely go into different nations.

I can assure you that the core north political class, is filled with many "Buhari's".
If we fail to get it right now, we might have as well sold our children into slavery.

Western diplomats reported today that as many as 4,000 officials of the ousted national and state governments had turned themselves in to the police as part of the new military Government's investigation of corruption. The diplomats said most of the former officials were released, some after their passports were confiscated. But about 400 were reportedly still held under what was described as ''military protection.''

At the same time, the Western diplomats and Nigerian sources said, many of the former officials who were on what the military Government of Maj. Gen. Mohammed Buhari called its ''most wanted list'' have managed to flee the country. Some who were abroad during the military takeover have decided to remain there.

General Buhari Meets Nigeria's Debt Obligations, Issues New Foreign Exchange Rules

Nigeria's Federal Military Government, which removed the civilian government of President Shagari in a coup on Dec. 31, has emphasized the importance of Nigeria's meeting its external payments obligations on time. International bankers were relieved when Nigeria paid the first installment of its rescheduled trade debt on time. General Buhari, the head of the supreme Military Council, announced his intention to keep Nigeria in OPEC and to continue discussions with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and commercial lenders.

On Jan. 9 the Central Bank of Nigeria issued new controls on foreign exchange, effective from Jan. 1, 1984. The provisions of most interest to U.S. companies are as follows:

(1) Compulsory Advance Import Deposits

The following rates of compulsory advance deposits will continue in 1984:

Raw materials (except petroleum products) 10 percent

Spare parts 15 percent

Food (except rice) 50 percent

Medicines 50 percent

Building materials 50 percent

Capital goods 50 percent

Books (except single copies), periodicals 50 percent

Motor vehicles and trucks 200 percent

Motor cars 250 percent

Other 250 percent

All importers must pay the applicable rates when registering Form M, the Application for Approval of Foreign Exchange. The advance deposit is now applicable to all imports, whether or not they enjoy credit facilities of more than 180 days.

(2) Commissions

The commission payable to agents or confirming houses which act as intermediaries between importers and exporters has been reduced from a maximum of 4 percent to 2 percent of the f.o.b. value of the consignment.

(3) Technical/Management Service Fees

The existing allowable rate of 20 percent of net profits before taxes that may be remitted in foreign exchange will continue in 1984. However, payment of technical and management fees will not be allowed except in exceptionally deserving cases, such as for manufacturing companies where high technology is required.

(4) Consultancy Fees

The present 20 percent limit of consultancy fees payable in foreign exchange continues, but consultancy fees for feasibility or pre-feasibility studies will not be allowed because such studies may be performed locally.

(5) Travel Allowances

The Basic Travel Allowance will be N100 ($135) per year per person. The foreign exchange allowance for business travel has been suspended until further notice.

(6) Student Remittances

No foreign exchange will be made available to any new student. Students already studying abroad will be able to obtain foreign exchange to complete their studies.

GENERAL BUHARI VISITS YOLA AFTER QUENCHING RELIGIOUS RIOTING THAT LEFT DOZENS DEAD.
Nigeria's military ruler, Major-General Mohamed Buhari, visited the northeastern Nigerian city of Yola - in Gongola state - February 29 to assess the extent of damage caused by violent communal rioting two days earlier.

The known death toll from the religious disturbances is nearly 140, with at least another 60 persons injured, some critically. Gongola's acting state governor, Colonel Cyril Iweze, blamed the turmoil on fanatical followers of Moslem fundamentalist Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine's religious sect. Marwa himself was killed in vicious rioting three years ago, when an estimated 4,000 people died.

In disturbances on February 27, the army was eventually called in to quell resistance from thousands of religious fanatics, at least 715 of whom were arrested by security forces.

General Buhari visited the Yola Specialist Hospital during his one-day tour of the gutted city, and also met with the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu, to discuss the situation.

Buhari signs Barter Trade agreement with Brazil who would refine and return Nigeria's oil in exchange for crude oil

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 13— Brazil has won an international bidding contest to refine Nigerian oil this year, the state oil company, Petrobras, announced today.

The $1.2 billion agreement calls for Brazil to import Nigerian crude and return refined gasoline, jet fuel and diesel oil to Nigeria, a Petrobras spokesman said. He added that the accord would allow Brazil to reduce its idle refining capacity and earn a margin of profit.

Brazil imports about two-thirds of the one million barrels of oil it consumes daily, mostly from the Middle East. It buys 10,000 barrels daily from Nigeria.

BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES “WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE”

Nigeria's military government is stepping-up its campaign against corruption, mismanagement and indiscipline at all levels in Nigeria society.

Preliminary hearings into corruption and abuse of office against former politicians and civil administrators have already begun and on March 21 the government launched its war against indiscipline.

One of the first areas under attack is Illegal Street trading in the capital Lagos. The military government of Major-General Buhari has promulgated a decree forbidding the street trading, a major source of income for many thousands of Lagos people. Police have already begun arresting street vendors and confiscating their wares.

The campaign is also designed to foster greater personal and social discipline with Nigerians being urged to queue for buses in an orderly fashion. The crackdown on indiscipline was announced by Brigadier Tunde Idiagbon, a member of the Nigerian Supreme Military Council.

BRIGADIER TUNDE IDIAGBON: "I want you to bear in mind the need to emphasise self-discipline and leadership by good example.
Begin by drawing public attention to little but important everyday manifestations of indiscipline such as rushing into buses, driving on the wrong side of the road, littering the streets, parks and dwelling compounds, cheating, taking undue advantage of scarcity to inflate prices for quick monetary gains, constituting ourselves into public nuisances, walking without commitment and devoting little or no time to the upbringing of our children.

Up to this moment there has been no formal declaration of war against indiscipline, it is my pleasure therefore to declare today a launching day for the war against indiscipline."
