So did President Bush. Obama had a lot of mess to clean up after taking office and while the country would have loved to have had the job rise percentage much higher than promised there was a rise nonetheless. Its a step by step process and living up to at least a quarter to what was promised Obama still did a good job. The fear now is the tax policy at the end of the year. If Romney was president there would have been a truckload of shit because Romney has no clear policy or plan on how to cut taxes. He just says that he will do it but doesn't say how. I would like to know if you have the answer cos that will bigger than solving String Theory.
Economists are not to blame for the dot com crash and don't forget that the reason the recorded 'billions' were lost is because people got paid back in cash. Economic models are not 100% but we need to be able to analyse and make predictions on what certain actions will result in. Obama's fiscal policy is on point and has always been ahead of Romney on that issue. Stop looking for causations where they don't exist.

Obama is very much aware on what the country needs and that the problem at the moment is not too much government, but insufficient demand that if treated will lead to more jobs, income and output. Yes I know he is spending too much money but Romney doesn't want to spend. If Obama's plans fail the problems faced will be much less than if Romney's plans fail. I choose the lesser of both evil.

The democrats are preaching robin hood economics. Take from the rich and give to the poor. That is not how real life works. The prosperity of a nation is the combined prosperity of the individual citizens. If you think by redistributing wealth, you can increase prosperity, then you know absolutely nothing about the inter relationship of economics and socio-cultural systems. You made a good point but so too did Ijebabe. Obama enunciated his plan more clearly than Romney which helped in swinging independent voters (at least in my opinion). In times of recession, not spending will save money but will record negligible growth while spending MAY spur growth. Obama just has to put in enough incentives to get businesses to stay in the U.S and get those in places like China to relocate back home as well. My concern actually is what are we in Nigeria doing. The fact is this; US job numbers have to go up; now to do that, dead, comatose or new industries will have to spring up (e.g the automotive corporations like G.M, Ford). Then comes the issue of who to buy these products: The BRICS and other nations have serious protectionist laws which will help their own industries so that leaves Africa (NIGERIA), parts of Asia and the Americas as the only viable markets. And given our foreign goods consumption-driven psyche, how will we react?
