Good day
Please I need the help on the following

The travel insurance is it only for the duration I will be in Netherlands (14 days) or for the 3 months visa duration.

Are there trusted websites where I can book for accommodation and flights but cancel later when I'm ready

First your girlfriend needs to visit the town hall to get the attestation d'accueil to show her apartment/flat can accommodate you.
You need to provide your documents to prove your ties to Nigeria .
If all is in place, you should apply for a tourist visa.

I would advice though: you stand a better chance applying on your own without an invitation. Get all your documentation right.

An invitation doesnt guarantee a Visa you must meet the criteria.

You will be asked to pick up your passport at VFS office where you applied from... What kind of visa did you apply for ? And how long did it take for them to call you ?

you don’t need to book an appointment, just make sure you get there early (VFS) for submission.

Just so I'm clear.

I don't need to book an appointment or choose a date.
I just turn up at the French embassy and submit my forms and accompanying papers

you are not going to France embassy o, you will submit at VFS, just do some google search for the address...when you get there you ask where to submit for France
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Champora: 7:52pm On Feb 09
Hi hardywaltz, I assume you've already submitted your application by now? If so, may I please know the total amount VFS France is now charging for visa applications? Visa fees + service fee. And hopefully courier service too. Thanks, I'd like to know the new total amount or estimate. And that's short term visa. (Even though I understand you applied for the Netherlands but it's still with France VF)

approvedxxx yes he’s right. I went to Austria last year, spent 82 days there in total and I didn’t have any issues whatsoever. I submitted at Abuja. I submitted sometime around 20th may and told it was ready sometime by June 6th. Roughly 2 weeks. The guys at VFS there were very kind and nice, they thoroughly cross checked my documents. I had made a mistake on my application form and so I had to redo the entire thing again, they made me take new passport photos and they had me redo my bank statement. From what they said if I remember correctly, I had to come up with exactly 3 months bank statement. So I ran to the bank that same day, did a new bank statement and arrived back before closing. It was a REALLY long day. But I thank God for everything. I went to Austria in July or so. I stayed in Salzburg and visited Chiemsee in Bavaria, wen to some really exotic places. And whilst in Salzburg, I met the Nigerian Ambassador to Austria, Amb. Vivian Okeke. Very nice woman.

For your self introduction letter too, I remember the guy at VFS asked why I didn’t do it on a letter head. But he accepted it nonetheless. I’m not very sure my total visa fees + other expenses was up to: N41410. Honestly I can’t really remember. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, I feel like I paid something in total of about 30 something k. But now with the increase of visa fees, it could cost much more.

Fantastic.

Was also in Vienna, Austria 2018 September.

Went for a technical training. Was such an enjoyable experience. Hoping to make another trip there this year.

Submitted my application at VFS Lagos.

Thanks for the swift replies,i would do as you all have adviced,i appreciate all the inputs smiley

Just as someone advised, reg your business, get your taxes fixed and catch a trip to Eastern Africa, would say Kenya or Rwanda, been to both, not a bad idea at all and trust me you'd enjoy the scenery and their tourism space is big.

You can plan for France early next year.

Make sure your application is as watertight as you can make it. The Austrians will definitely contact the conference organiser and your booked hotel. Be prepared to go to Abuja for an interview.

They would even call your employer and confirm you work with them
