Good day everyone,
I intend to travel to France next year February (3rd), I will be going for a training but I don't really have a strong travel History (Kenya and Ghana), please do I stand a chance?. also my passport is about expiring, the passport has a schengen Visa 2015 which I did not use (Visa came late due to election), should I just present the renewed passport and not attached the old one that has the unused Schengen visa and entry to Kenya and Ghana. Please I need the house advice

You should attach your previous passport to the new one and submit it together because your new passport will show that you had a passport before and if you dont include it, you are giving them reasons to start thinking probably you have a cancelled visa or something on the previous passport. As for the unused visa, you just need to write a statement stating why you weren’t able to use the visa, there are so many reason why one might not his or her visa. If you reason is genuine, it doesn’t stop dem from issuing another one as your documents is well packaged.

Sorry about that. Appeal is a waste of time, i will suggest you get somebody with experience to help u look into your application to see if there’s something you did wrong then you can reapply.

The issue with appeal is that if you made a mistake in your initial application, your appeal will come back negative thats why i said you should have somebody with experience look into your itinial application then he can decide if you should appeal or reapply. There are some mistakes we sometimes make in our application that’s not always obvious to us but can only be seen by the consular. I will like you to ask these questions maybe i can help look into it:

1) how many days was your planned stay
2) Are you married or single?
3) Are you employed or self employed?
4) What was your account balance as at when you applied?
5) Do you have any travel history

It means they believe you have submitted fake documents. Did you do it yourself or through agent?

Good point! Understood....

But what visa was on the old passport? It is of no importance to them without a valid or used visa of some A-rated countries like the US, Canada, UK, one of theirs (Schengen), etc.

The first person who responded to you said it all - appeals generally are a waste of time especially given the fact that they have to be written in French, sent by post, satisfy form requirements, etc. It's only worth appealing if you have an enduring long-term reason to travel such as a course of study, etc. If its for tourism or short-stays, don't bother.

Secondly, with your profile (student, single, 650k naira balance, no travel history (forget the West African nations, they don't count)), you cannot really demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria and will find it difficult to obtain a visa from the western countries. Advice would be to reapply when your circumstances have changed.

In addition to this. Here is a short way to access your self before applying for visa, first you deduct the expected expense for your trip from your account and check the balance. ie flight, accomadatiom and upkeep to the country your are going to, the balance after deduction should be enough for you to continue your life wen you come back. Another thing that can replace this is having great investment and assets of different kinds.

If the above is not clear to the VO, then the next becomes, what is the importance of the trip to your career and future. If no linking, it then come accross as one trying to flee from his/her country.

I think we should try to check ourself properly before applying for visa in order to reduce visa denial history. My advice is build your account and for your own good make sure you have something to come back to, cos going out and not getting what you expected abroad can be fraustrating and depressing.

650k for travel of 10 days, i dont know how much the hotel reservation and flight itinerary you submitted will cost but am sure both wont cost you less than 500k and you are expected to hold 1000 euro (420k) as PTA. This alone shows you can not conveniently cover the expenses that comes with your travel. Trust me, you will not win the appeal. I will advice you reapply when you are able to build your account to atleast 1.5m

You can try cornerstone for your insurance. For good hotel and flight reservation you might need a travel agent for that

Picked up my passsport today 18/12/2018 and got France (Sheghen) visa with my wife and two kids. My wife’s younger sister living with us was refused though. I really want to thank the house as the lead posts helped my application. Please help interprete the attached slip on the visa. I just wanted to spend the Christmas holiday with my family in Paris.
