Age doesn't really matter as long as the gap isn't too much. IMO. If a man of 35 marries a woman of 27 or 28 its not bad. Women usually age faster. If you are a woman here who isn't yet married and a guy 7 or 8 years older walks up to you, would you say no? |

Why nt think of d old days wen a man can marry seven wives and imagine d last wife will be younger dan some of his children, do u wnt 2 tell me dat they won't be happy, it is believed in our culture dat men dat re much older than their wives take care of them most, and u knw d respect of a thing wil also be there, all of d people sayin dey bliv in 4yrs difference will be surprised wen dey eventually fall in love wit d last teenager, u can never say, my mom got married 2 a man wit 5 wives, although our dad is dead but come see enjoyment as d last wife, been d no. 16 of 17, i can never be much happier dan this |

How would u even know girls' age wen all they do is to fake age. A 32yr old would just tell u "i am 24" lik d one dat my friend just get out of. They lie alot abt thier age. I dont even knw wat's motive on dat. |

All these things about age in men and age in women, how many girls cn tell truth about their age, when they said they are 18yrs,she is 25,when she said she iz 25,she iz 35yrs,so i urge u guys to check vry well if u wnt to get married to a young girl,60% of nigerian girls are old at home,nd more nd more are getting old in the name catching fun,i dnt care what anybdy said but dat gal dat make u call dat guy a child abuser may be ur elder sister age mate.take note |

Age would only be a problem if an older woman is dating a younger boy who possess an immature mindset, attitude and behaviour, vice versa. But then, there are some men who are older and matured in age, but everything about them reeks of imaturity. |

binger: You knw one bad thing about Nigerians? We mix cultures a lot...we copy the lifestyle and psyche of Americans,Germans,Chinese...and mix everything together with our indeginuos cultures.Decades ago,the Nigerian psyche on marriage believes in a man marrying a woman he is older than. But due to 'Westernization' (some dimwits will say its Civilization),the common phrase nowadays is 'Age is just a number'. In truth, its more than a number. Its, in most cases, a determinant of Maturity,Knowledge and Skill, all needed for a successful relationship i agree with u until the last sentence, Age does not determine Maturity, Knowledge or skill.Exposure does, a 40year old man can be no smarter than a 10 year old if he is in the wrong setting, the issue of age is really not a big deal to me, my parents are 9years apart and they have a wonderful 28year marriage... so what are we talking about? male to female age difference is relative to the parties involved, i don't think its set in stone as this or that or wrong or right, do what makes u happy and move on |

Xplodes2700: Age is definitely an issue, it makes me sick hearing a 25yrs old girl even dating a 35yrs old guy, in my own opinion i feel the age difference shud be @ least four years Am around 30 dating a 16yr old girl. Come see love. If no be age and her parents, ''I do'' for don happen.....love covereth all my dear. I believe in CHEMISTRY.... |

Ideally, age should be no more than a number so long as the age difference is 'within reasonable grounds'; but culturally, an older woman marrying a younger man is frowned upon. It is more generally acceptable for an older man to marry a younger woman than the reverse. Moreover, we all know that the fertility of women declines with advancing age, that alone is a major risk. 1 Like |
