Ghana Presidential Election by rickross2: 2:48pm On Dec 08, 2012
Today is the second day since the Ghanians started voting for a new president. So far so good.

My wife traveled all the way to Ghana just to caste her vote, shes voting for NPP candidate Nana Addoo.

Last week I told her NPP cannot win bc this is Africa and we know the siting president has power over the police/army/judiciary/electoral commission etc.

This morning my wife called and said the opposition party NPP is leading with 51% of the votes counted, though only 43 out of 200 and something constituencies have been counted so far. HPP candidate is from Ashanti Region while the sitting president and NDC candidate is a Christian from Northern Region.

Is it possible for opposition party to win presidential election in Nigeria? This is an area Nigeria needs to learn from Ghana. So far no ballot box has been snatched in Ghana, just few minor cases here and there. I know their smaller population is an advantage but how many Nigerians come home to cast their votes, what we normally do is go to the internet and rant against our politicians which has little or no effect. I know many Ghanaian friends in Europe that came home for this election. Many Ghanaians say life is becoming unbearable for the average Ghanaian so they need a change of government, this is why so many of them are rooting for the NPP to return to power. I can testify the NPP government of Kuffour was miles ahead of the present NDC government. If I close my eyes I can mention so many mega projects Kuffour gave Ghanians. Starting from ALL the major highways under construction in Accra, some have been completed already. The Biu Dam project etc. The first time I came to Ghana we used to laugh that Accra had only 4 flyovers which is true but Kuffour did alot of road construction with the millennium challenge account.

I know its too early to know who will win this election but my prayers are with Ghanians and I wish them the best of luck. I pray for the best candidate to win. No matter how we rant and curse each other on the internet, we are brothers. Every derogatory word i use against Ghanians or Yoruba people is not from my heart, i only respond to silly people that insult Nigeria or Igbo. In real life some of my best friends are from Yoruba and Ghana.

I will be updating this page as i get more info.

Oga Rick, how far? Long time.

@topic.

I think elections are largely free and fair in Ghana. The people are also becoming more awake to their civic duty. A crazy number of registered voters, over 94%, showed up to vote. When I saw all my Ghanaian friends yesterday after the election in the Labone, Osu and Cantonment area, circa 8pm, they all had blackened fingers from voting !!! Certainly beautiful to witness. Absolutely superb and a bit like seeing the statement "self-actualisation" in motion.

I think the people are truly electing their leaders here. They are also minutely scrutinising the history, pledges and policies of leaders. No silly "boy with no shoes" type gimmick will sell in this Country. Folks need to be aware of your history and virtually all candidates have noted this to focus strongly on promoting their past achievements and successes. All in all, I have been impressed with what I have seen. I still think Akuffo-Addo will win but it is a tight race so far.

Bros, longest time.
Good to know you are on ground to witness.
As you said its a tight race so far, too tight, and i still doubt Nana Addo chances of winning.
That his ALL DIE BE DIE rantings made him very unpopular. I think the results so far are coming from areas where he is popular like the Eastern Region where everyone expected him to win.
Anyone who wins the VOLTA REGION carries the vote. If he wins the sitting president i go commot cap for Ghana.

Ablekuma North: Machomen (BIG MUSCLE MEN) burn ballot papers

A group of machomen stormed the collation centre of the Ablekuma North constituency of Accra and set the ballot papers ablaze.

Meanwhile, both NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates - Joe Appiah and Ras Mubarak - have been accusing each other of hiring the services of these machomen, Joy News' Etonarm Sey reported on Saturday.

However, deputy returning officer for the constituency, Owusu Nkansah suspected that the NDC is behind the thugs' action.

Mr Nkansah told Joy News they were at the Kwashieman collation centre tabulating the result when it was detected that the results from a particular polling station was yet to arrive. They were however able to trace the presiding officer for that polling station who came to the centre with the party agents of both parties: the agents certified the result in the presence of all, including the candidates.

He recounted that in the course of collating the results, some machomen “trooped” into the place and threatened that the results would not be accepted, insisting that the election should be rerun.

“Before I could say Jak”, he recalled, the hoodlums holding petrol poured them on the ballot papers and set them on fire.

Mr Nkansah said police were called in to intervene, and some of the thugs were arrested and sent to the Odokor Police Station.

The rest of the materials have been escorted to the police station where Mr Nkansah insists collation would be done and results declared without the burnt papers.

Superintendent Baffour Appenteng, the officer in charge of investigations at the Great Accra Regional Elections Task-Force, confirmed the incident to Joy News.

He said preliminary investigations into the incident led to the retrieval of the can from which petrol was poured over electoral materials at the collation centre and set ablaze.

Supt. Appenteng said three persons arrested in connection with the arson were currently in police custody and would be put before court after investigations were complete.

Meanwhile, hundreds of supporters of both candidates thronged the police station creating confusion. A combine team of police and military personnel are finding it difficult to calm tension down.

Etorney Sey observed that the security would need reinforcement to bring the situation under control.

2 ballot boxes missing at Zabzugu

Two ballot boxes from one of the polling stations at the Zabzugu Constituency in the Northern Region have gone missing.

Counting of the ballots in the polling centre stalled because of the lighting issues, correspondents say.

The presiding officer of the polling centre, together with polling agents, under police escort, deposited the ballot boxes at the collation centre.

But when all interested persons gathered Saturday for the tallying of the results, electoral officers announced that the ballot boxes of one of the 56 polling stations in the Zabzugu Constituency could not be found.

The District Police Commander for the area admitted escorting the ballot to the collation centre.

He said the police, together with EC officials, were searching for the missing ballot boxes.

Despite this, voters, correspondents say, have remained calm.

My brother, you may have a point. As at 2 hours ago, and with 140 wards counted out of around 200, Mahama leads by 50.8% to Akuffo-Addo's 48%. Mind you, a run-off may await if things remain that close. Akuffo-Addo's "die be die" talk is pure 'basa basa' nonsense. Yet I think his SHS free education may have gained him appreciable mileage. For neutral yet concerned folks, like me and you, may the best man win.

NPP to prove alleged electoral fraud later today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Nana Akomea, has told Joy News the party will release figures from over 20 constituencies where there were major discrepancies between results from the polling stations and those declared at the collation centres.

He said the party, so far, has enough evidence to prove there was voter fraud in at least 20 constituencies, adding that the results were tampered with before reaching the Electoral Commission (EC).

The NPP has since the projection and declaration of the election results insisted the polls were rigged in favour of President John Mahama. Its flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has refused to concede defeat.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Election Headquarters Monday, Mr. Akomea maintained that differences between results recorded at polling stations and that declared by the EC will shock Ghanaians and give the NPP a strong case in contesting the outcome of the elections.

He said that the party will be taking its complaints to a lower court, saying the public can expect the NPP to release a more definitive statement on the alleged fraud later today, Monday.

The country will be able to move forward together, he explained, once the evidence is on the table and the concerns are addressed to everyone’s satisfaction.

Mr. Akomea also thanked the party’s supporters for their votes, commended the Ghanaian people for their good conduct during the elections, and said that this election’s results suggest a country split down the middle in terms of political preferences.

Ghana opposition cries foul in presidential race

Ghana's main opposition party said on Sunday the country's presidential election had been rigged, raising concerns of unrest in a nation seen as a bulwark of democracy in an unstable region.

The New Patriotic Party called on the electoral commission to delay announcing results hours after local media projected its candidate Nana Akufo-Addo had narrowly lost to incumbent John Dramani Mahama.

"These results cannot be forced down the throat of the people of Ghana," NPP chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey told reporters at a news conference in Accra.

The poll is a test of whether Ghana can maintain more than 30 years of stability and progress in a region better known for coups, civil wars and corruption.

A cliff-hanger election in 2008, in which Akufo-Addo lost by less than 1 percent, pushed the country to the brink of chaos, with disputes over results driving hundreds of people into the streets with clubs and machetes.

Local news outlet Joy News used counts from polling stations to project a narrow Mahama victory in the first round vote.

Obetsebi-Lamptey said he had evidence of electoral workers conspiring to rig tallies and added the party had sent a formal letter of complaint to the election commission asking for an audit before full results are released.

Election commissioner Kwadwo Afari-Gyan told Reuters he was not yet aware of the NPP complaint, and declined to say when the body would announce a winner.

At least two hundred supporters of Akufo-Addo, wearing red headbands and shouting "We want peace, we want SHS", faced off with riot police and soldiers near the Election Commission building. SHS refers to Akufo-Addo's promise to provide Ghanaians with free education through senior high school.

Akufo-Addo, a British-trained lawyer, has also criticised the ruling party for failing to root out government graft.

Mahama served as prime minister for former leader John Atta Mills and took over the presidency in July after Mills' death from illness. He has vowed to use rising oil revenues to jumpstart development, create jobs, and combat poverty.

But in a country where campaign messages rarely influence voting choices, many believe most of Ghana's 14 million voters cast their ballots based on ethnic, social or regional ties.

"We have a fair idea what the outcome of the elections will be," Mahama said at his house in a leafy suburb of Accra on Sunday. "But as a law-abiding political party, we shall wait for the electoral commission to make an official declaration."

A run-off is possible December 28 if no candidate wins an outright majority. Ghanaians are also electing a parliament, in which Mahama's party has enjoyed a slim majority.

An oil-driven economic boom has brought more wealth to the country, but also fears that it could suffer the graft and turmoil that often plagues energy-rich developing nations.

TROUBLED POLLS

Voting was plagued by delays after hundreds of newly-introduced electronic fingerprint readers - used to identify voters - failed on Friday and forced some polling stations to reopen on Saturday to clear the backlog.

Ghana television stations aired long infomercials on Sunday, between election updates, showing clips of wars that have erupted in neighbouring countries interspersed with testimonials from Ghanaians about the importance of maintaining peace.

"This election has been hard, but we must remember Ghanaians are one and we must love each other and remain peaceful," said Wellington Dadzie, 69, a former soldier who lives on the outskirts of the capital Accra.

Ghana has had five peaceful and constitutional transfers of power since its last coup in 1981. Its residents like to say "Ghana in peace, not in pieces".

Neighbouring Ivory Coast tipped into civil war last year after a disputed 2010 poll and regional neighbours Mali and Guinea-Bissau have both suffered coups this year.

Oil production in Ghana - which is also a big cocoa and gold producer - started two years ago and oil field operator Tullow Oil says it expects to boost output further in 2013.

"These elections are important not just to Ghana but for the growing number of states and actors seeking to benefit from increasing confidence in Africa," said Alex Vines, Africa Research Director at Chatham House.

Chief Justice Sets Up Complaints' Secretariats for Post Elections Petitions

The Judicial Service on the authority and direction of Mrs Justice Georgina T. Wood, the Chief Justice of Ghana, has established two public complaints secretariats in anticipation of post-2012 election petitions.

They are the Chief Justice’s Secretariat and the Office of the Chief Registrar-General.

This was contained in a press release signed by Justice Alex B. Poku-Acheampong, Judicial Secretary and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra.

The mandate of the two secretariats will be to receive and file complaints and queries from the public on pending election petitions before the courts after the December 7th general elections and take the necessary action on them.

It said the purpose of the arrangement was to ensure that post-election petitions placed before the courts, were determined in a timely fashion.

The two secretariats can be reached by email on elections@judicial.gov.gh and edisputes@judicial.gov.gh and by telephone on the following hotlines: 0203356029 and 0203356030.

The release said the initiative of the Chief Justice was part of a raft of measures that the Judicial Service had taken towards the speedy disposal of election disputes.

It said the Service in 2008 produced a Manual on Election Adjudication in Ghana ahead of the general elections of that year to serve as a useful guide for Judges in adjudicating electoral disputes.

It said a 2nd edition, an improvement on the maiden one, has been produced this year, which includes subject matters that were not previously covered in the first edition in addition to a digest of some previously decided cases and a list of statutes that are applicable to the conduct of elections in Ghana.

NPP likely to go to court to challenge poll results

The New Patriotic Party is likely to head to the courts over what it alleges are gross irregularities in the results of the 2012 elections.

A member of the Communications team of the party John Boadu gave the hint in a discussion on Multi-TV and Joy FM, Monday.

He said the leader of the party Nana Akufo-Addo, an astute politician will not head to court if he had no credible evidence to support his claim.

The party is reeling under a painful election defeat and is accusing the ruling party of widespread rigging.

The party had petitioned the EC chairman to withhold the declaration of the results until their concerns are addressed but the EC Chair, Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan went ahead with the declaration, Sunday evening in line with his promise of declaring the election results within 48 hours after polls.

The only democratic option available to the NPP is the courts and John Boadu believes the party will take advantage of this option.

Even though, he did not mention the exact constituencies, the deputy Communications director said they have evidence to show that in ten constituencies a total 53,000 votes were added to that of the NDC candidate.

He said the National Executive Council of the party will be meeting, Tuesday to take a decision on the next line of action.

He advised supporters to remain calm and not indulge in any acts of violence.

“We will take all means legal to ensure credibility is brought to the figures in the election results,” he assured.

Thieving President Mahama Caught! …Steals 51, 325 Votes In Just Ten Constituencies!

President John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) have committed a great crime against the nation and people of Ghana. They have committed what can only be described as high treason and a coup d’etat with the active help and connivance of the Electoral Commissioner! It is the grand larceny of politicking!

A breakdown of tally sheets compiled by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the various polling stations as against the constituency figures presented by the regional offices of the EC to the people assembled at the strongroom of the EC in Accra, and subsequently certified by the ubiquitous Kwadwo Afari Gyan as certified true results, would leave many Ghanaians bug-eyed in shock and fighting for breathe! This newspaper can reveal that in just ten constituencies, Dr. Afari Gyan and his officials at the EC gave John Dramani Mahama over fifty thousand votes (51,325 votes!). Striking national averages with that figure over 275 constituencies, John Mahama may have benefitted from what can only be described as the grand larceny of politicking. He may have stolen as much as 1.4 million votes!

But whilst he was stealing votes and denying Ghanaians the mandate, John Mahama was also actively stealing the votes and pulling the wind out of the sales of his principal opponent, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The same data, the compilation of which is likely to be completed before the end of the week, shows that in just two constituencies, the EC officials and John Dramani Mahama fleeced Nana off nearly three thousand five hundred votes (3,478 votes!). Striking national averages, Akufo Addo may have suffered from having as many as 470, 000 thousand votes deleted from votes that he legitimately earned! The cruelty and heartlessness with which the fraud has been perpetrated would surely leave many Ghanaians breathless!

This newspaper can reveal that for instance in Tamale South, John Dramani Mahama (JDM) polled 37,832 votes, but what the EC told the world was that he had earned 53,536 votes! The difference is 15,704 created out of thin air by the ‘add and drop’ artists hired by John Mahama.

At Lower Manya Krobo, JDM recorded an actual vote of 23,520, but had the figure 30,183 recorded in his name. The difference created out of thin air is 6663. At Techiman North, JDM received actual votes of 10,519 but had 16,329 votes placed against his name. Votes created out of thing air are 5,810. Yilo Krobo JDM recorded 21,772 in actual votes, but had the figure 29,300 recordeD in his name. The difference from which he benefitted is 7,528 votes. At Akropong constituency, John Mahama got actual votes of 9,638 votes, but the figure 15, 389 was what was recorded for him. That meant that he had an excess vote of 5,751 votes, created out of thin air!

At Berekum West, the actual vote was 7,823 votes cast for JDM, but his Merlins gave him 9.091. The excess votes from thin air were 1,268. At Kintampo South, JDM got 12,890 votes in actuality, but had Afari Gyan and his wizards crediting him with 16,488 votes. The balance JDM received as ‘bonus’ for paying huge judgment debts to EC officials was 3,598. At Upper West Akyem, JDM received actual votes of 15,540, but had 19,128 votes being recorded by Afari Gyan and friends (consultants extraordinaire). The ‘joyful’ votes on that one were 3588.

At Mpohor, JDM recorded 7,550, whist EC officially released the figure of 7955. The balance that fell from the sky was 405 votes.

At Yendi,JDM recorded 20, 658 votes cast for him in actual terms, but the figure of 21,668 was what was released by the EC. JDM thus benefitted from 1,010 votes he never worked for.

Put together, in just ten constituencies, the total figure totaled a frightening 51,325 votes, far larger than the number of votes recorded by many constituencies in Ghana as total votes!

But that was not the whole story. Whilst Afari Gyan and officials of the EC were creating votes for John Mahama, they were also stealing votes from Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

At Berekum West Constituency, Nana recorded actual votes cast of 10, 539, but what was announced by the EC was 7,750, meaning Nana lost 2,789 votes! At Yendi, Nana recorded 27, 678 votes, but had the figure 26, 989 put against his name, robbing him off a valuable 689 votes he had earned!

With all this, it is no wonder that JDM says that he is grateful to God!

Ghana is experiencing constitutional and electoral coup d’état – Dr. Bawumia

The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2012 general elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that Ghana is now experiencing constitutional and electoral coup d'etat.

“In the nineteen seventies we had military coup d’états and dictatorships; Nana Akufo-Addo was at the fore front of the fight for democracy and we delivered democracy... today instead of military coup d’états you are having constitutional and electoral coup d’état.”

The NPP running mate revealed that the party, “after the votes of December 7 discovered clear incontrovertible monumental electoral fraud against the people of Ghana.”

He made the comment when the leadership of the party addressed a gathering of NPP supporters at the ‘Obra Spot’ in Accra to demand clarification on the next line of action from the party leaders with regards the final results from the elections.

According to Dr. Bawumia, “the integrity and the sanctity of our democracy is being undermined and it is therefore time to get up and stand together to defend the democracy of this country.”

Dr. Bawumia said the NPP “cannot stand for it; we have to protect the future of this country, we cannot allow this to happen and this is why we are pursuing all legal means necessary to make sure that this stealing of the mandate of the people is over turned. And this is why we are asking all of you to come together to make sure you support the leadership of this party as we prosecute this particular case through all legal means necessary.”

Akufo-Addo Demands Power-Sharing …tells AU Chairman I Can’t Survive with This Shameful Defeat Again

Snippets of information reaching the Crystal Clear Lens is that Akufo-Addo the defeated Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not accept his loss and is feverishly planning an evil and a blood shedding agenda that will help him taste power after miserably lossing to President John Mahama, the NDC’s Candidate in the 2012 elections.
Our sources close to the defeated but very desperate flag bearer revealed to the paper that Akufo-Addo told the African Union Chairman and President of Benin, H.E Thomas Yayi Boni point blank that he will not accept this defeat again and will do everything possible to taste political power which he has been dying for, even if it will mean shedding innocent blood. His close confidants told us that Akufo-Addo could not contain the defeat which he described as shameful and too embarrassing and is demanding for a power-sharing agreement just like the Kenya scenario though most of the party top hierarchy are against his evil plans of sending the country into chaos.
According to the information, the plan of the Akufo-Addo were rejecting the results just as he did yesterday and head to the supreme court today and when the Supreme court rejects his petition, then he will ask their supporters to embark on series of agitations to make the nation ungovernable.
After these plans which were nursed by the flag bearer before the elections succeed he will then demand for a power sharing deal like what happened in Kenya.
Akufo-Addo, therefore endorsed his errant supporters resorting to violence and killing of NDC supporters across the country and told them that he won the elections and nothing could stop him from becoming the president of Ghana. Akufo-Addo’s speech yesterday suggested he want to go the Ouattara-style presidency which saw the deaths of thousands and many mass graves in Cote d' Ivoire. The NPP flag bearer, who is the author of “The Stolen verdict” against ex-president Jerry John Rawlings in the 1992 elections, says no matter how long it takes, the leadership of his party will contest the results of the just ended presidential elections in which he was defeated. Addressing a charged crowd at the Obra Spot near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Akufo-Addo said “we know we won this election” adding, “we are not going to retreat from the decision that we have taken.”
In 2008, the NPP leading in only two out of 10 regions almost declared itself winners of the elections. The two regions were Ashanti and Eastern regions.
In Cote d' Ivoire, President Ouattara for a year cut off the northern parts of the country from the rest, took power in April 2011 with at least 3,000 people killed and 150 women raped during the conflict period, often in targeted acts perpetrated along political, ethnic, and religious lines.
At 69, and knowing this year’s elections offered him the last opportunity of realizing his dream of becoming president like his late father, a former president of Ghana under the Busia regime, Akufo-Addo, has decided to stop at nothing to ensure his dream comes into fruition against the will of Ghanaians.
However, his earlier attempts in 1998 and in the 2008 elections floundered and therefore he sees this third time attempt, as he himself succinctly puts it at Koforidua last year, an ‘all-die-be-die’ and winning the elections at all cost which Ghanaians rejected.

‘NDC Can’t Bribe God’

"NDC can bribe everybody in this country to steal the elections but NDC cannot bribe God and the will of God will prevail, Nana Akufo-Addo and NPP would prevail”.

The above statement was what big shots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) told the teeming supporters of the party who had gathered at Obra Spot, near Kwame Nkrumah Circle to register their strongest disapproval about what they described as “fraudulent results of the 2012 elections and unlawful declaration” of President John Dramani Mahama as the president-elect by Electoral Commission (EC) Chairman, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan.

NPP Deputy Communications Director Sammi Awuku yesterday told party faithful that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) had bribed some group of people to help steal the mandate of Ghanaians.

However, the NDC, he pointed out, could not bribe God who had already given victory to Nana Akufo-Addo in this year’s general elections, adding that all corrupt individuals engaged in surreptitious moves to sidestep the will of God would eventually face the wrath of the Almighty.

Awuku entreated NPP supporters to remain steadfast but non-violent in ensuring that Afari-Gyan respected the will of the electorate even as the party’s leadership used all legal means to ensure Nana Akufo-Addo is declared president of Ghana.

According to the NPP, veritable evidence from just 28 out of the 275 constituencies indicated that the ruling NDC, with the connivance of the EC, doctored electoral figures, giving President Mahama undeserved votes of over 100,000 whilst at the same time reducing the votes of Nana Akufo-Addo.

This fraudulent act, NPP indicated, was widespread throughout the country which evidence the party would be adducing at the Supreme Court.

Angry NPP supporters chanted “Afari-Gyan 419, No Nana Akufo-Addo, no President” for more than six hours, waiting for the party’s leadership to address them.

Meanwhile, armed military and police personnel yesterday surrounded Obra Spot as they virtually took over the streets at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle with armoured and patrol vehicles, ostensibly to put some fear in NPP supporters.

Whilst addressing supporters, NPP General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, entreated the party’s faithful not to engage in any violent activities that would subvert the security of the state which would invite the police or the military to brutalise them.

“Majority of Ghanaians voted for NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo. It is your legitimate right to ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo is declared the winner of this year’s presidential election but do not be destructive, do not attack cars and people who I believe voted for Nana Akufo-Addo,” Sir John admonished NPP supporters.

Receiving an enthusiastic welcome on stage, MP for Assin North Ken Agyapong further admonished NPP supporters not to take the law into their own hands in their quest to ensure that the true verdict of the majority of Ghanaians was respected.

He urged the supporters to stand firm and united until the EC reversed its decision on President Mahama by declaring Nana Akufo-Addo the true winner of the 2012 presidential election.

Former National Youth Organiser Anthony Karbo said NPP supporters would continue to mobilize, organize and fight until the true results of the 2012 elections were declared.

“We would continue fight for our rights but I urge you all not to engage in any acts of violence that would subvert the security of the nation,” he reiterated.

We will make Ghana ungovernable - NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it has picked intelligence that the national security is planning to arrest some party leaders over their ongoing protests.

Supporters of the party are staging series of protests as they challenge results of last week’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The party claims results in some constituencies were inflated by the Electoral Commission (EC) to favor President Mahama.

General Secretary of the party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John said the party will make the nation ungovernable if the security agencies attempts to arrest any of its leaders.

“If they make the wrong move by arresting any of our officers, they will know no peace and this country will suffer for that", Sir John said adding “we are not scared to be arrested but if they try to arrest any of us we will make this country ungovernable.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, John Boadu has condemned attacks on journalists by some aggrieved NPP supporters.

A number of journalists have been attacked by aggrieved supporters of the NPP since the EC declared the presidential results on Sunday.

Some supporters have accused the media of colluding with the ruling government and the EC to steal the verdict of the people.

John Boadu in an interview with XYZ News, said such attacks on journalists are unwarranted.

I hope the Ghanians know what they are doing. I hope they don't go the way of Kenya and Ivory Coast.
I pray for peace, love, unity and understanding...
