I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays? It’s finally a new year! With a new year comes resolution-making and new changes. The Celebrity Section will be experiencing some changes of its own.
This section had a nice 2012, but Missyb and I would like to try and make this section even more interesting (yes, it’s possible). With that said, here are the following changes/additions that are being implemented immediately:

1. Celebrity Section Chat Room
2. Celebrity Section Debates (dates, format, and topics to be announced at a later date)

We would also like to remind members that proper etiquette is required on this section as well as the rest of the site. All of you should be familiar with the Nairaland Forum Rules and Regulations. Celebrity Section posters should be familiar with this section’s rules as well before posting. Here are some of the rules that we feel are most pertinent to this section:

1. ALWAYS POST ON TOPIC
-off-topic posts will also be strictly penalized! We want our forum to be well-organized.

2. NO PERSONAL ATTACKS OR PUBLIC FIGHTS
-If you are upset with another member of the forum, then you must settle the fight outside the forum. You must not carry out any 'fights' on the open forum. 'Fights' are not allowed.

3. NO SEXUALLY EXPLICIT OR HATEFUL CONTENT
-As a public forum, please when posting, try to avoid lewd, hard core and sexually explicit contents and words. Pornographic images are not allowed. Depending on the nature of the content, they'll either be moved to the Sexuality Section or removed altogether. We will also not allow any comments that promote hatred, violence, or murder against any race, ethnic or religion group, gender, intimate orientation, person, et cetera.

4. Please search a topic before posting. Certain topics may have been treated on this Section.
-please DO NOT DUPLICATE your threads, as they will be deleted

5. To avoid your thread being deleted please search for the topic first before posting. All duplicate threads will be deleted.

6. When opening a thread, DO NOT post only a link as that will lead to your thread being deleted swiftly followed by a subsequent ban on your account.

7. Full stories should be provided on the thread with the link for reference and to ensure the story is not made up.

8. Remember we are discussing about our CELEBRITIES, let us be more courteous and be more respectful. We may all become a Celebrity one day.

Also, please please PLEASE use the “Report to Moderator” button. It’s there for a reason. Do not try to out-yarn, out-insult, or out-foolish another member. We do not subscribe to NL jungle justice (or any jungle justice for that matter). Missyb and I are both pretty darn good at responding to grievances in record time. We be NL Olympians

Registering and being an active member on this forum means you know the rules and promise to abide to them. You know what happens when promises are broken... *makes a fist*

In addition to the above stated rules, please, endeavor to write decently. By all means possible, avoid using this writing style, as you make our tasks more tedious when you write like that. Continuous use of it could earn you a ban.

Secondly, pretty please, endeavor to use the 'report to moderator button' ONLY for complaint purposes. Many of you use it to post comments; be informed that your comments don't get published on Nairaland, but are sent to our emails, and separating the wheat from the chaff can be very annoying.
Constant repetition of this mistake could earn you a ban.

It is needless to state that the infamous ''1st to comment'' and ''How does this affect . . .'' comments attract a ban and are transported where they belong.

In addition:
Recently, there have been multiple complaints about blocked URLs and inability to create threads.
Be informed that spamming is against the forum rules. If you spam the forum constantly you will get banned by the moderators. If you're lucky enough to escape that, the anti-spambot will deal with you and your URL. When the latter happens, please, try as much as possible not to complain to the moderators because you will not be taken seriously (by me).
