wow you're well experienced sir. I'm a university student, my course areas don't deal with computer stuffs but about business.

I'm thinking of learning programming language, I think it will be of great benefits to me and I really like the work.

Do you think it will affect my studies?? As a newbie which one do you think is better for me to start with? Thanks.

Hi, everyone.

I've been on CSS for a little while now, currently learning how to apply grid to a block of text, but after writing the codes correctly, trying to preview with my browsers and I find that the grid-effects are not effected, what could be the problem?

I am learning CSS too, but I have moved on to bootstrap. Please, make the question clearer, let me see if we can rob minds together.

Thanks for the response bro.

By default, your contents are presented in a row right? I tried applying the grid elements to have it shared in columns.

Display: grid;
Display-template-column: 30% 70%;

I tried using fractions still same result. When I previewed it on my browsers, no changes were made to break the block of texts into columns.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a scripting language commonly implemented as part of a web browser in order to create enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites.

JavaScript is a prototype-based scripting language that is dynamic, weakly typed and has first-class functions. It uses syntax influenced by the language C. JavaScript copies many names and naming conventions from Java. JavaScript is NOT the-same thing as JAVA

I am well, bro. I actually do more Python than I like these days grin I am currently doing a Ph.D in AI (Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning) and all the good frameworks are in Python with a minority in Java so I don't have a choice cry.

I’m just curious to know how you can do PhD in NLP, ML and DL together. If it’s MSc that could be understandable.

hi friend
purpose of a learning programming language is learn how to make a website.but to create a website you have to learn following things
1. html - structure of page
2.css- formating and styling of website
3. a programming language: to fix the behavior of the website.
to learn these three things only require a lot of money, time and effort.
inspite of learning all these things only learn a cms called wordpress.
it is free and very easy to learn.
if you want to learn wordpress in free visit my site https://www.clickhealthcaretaker.com/
and enroll for free wordpress course.

Before you start thinking of Programming and a Programming Language, first ask yourself this question, Are you going to be a Front End Developer or Back End Developer, or are going to be a jack of all trades and master of none.

My PhD is in Computer science but my concentration is in AI specifically NLP, ML and DL. All 3 fields overlap a lot nowadays. It becomes more difficult to separate them as the days goes by.

Great!! Knowing HTML and CSS is the best way to begin learning web development. As time goes on tho, You won't write much of these from scratch anymore. Anyways, have you heard about FreeCodeCamp. It is a really great resource. It starts from the absolute beginning and it's free. It has so many levels and if you manage to finish everything on the website (doing it a couple of hours a day will take you many months), you will be paired with a team to build a real life application for a charity and i believe you can call yourself a Full Stack Developer then cos they touch on everything, I mean everything!!

If you are only interested in the front end, then you can stop halfway. By then you will be able to write HTML/CSS and Javascript. You'll also learn stuff like Ajax, JQuery, Bootstrap and other stuff.

If video tutorials is your thing, then i suggest you try Udemy. It isn't free but they have discounts where you get courses for like £10. If you are interested in getting those for free, Torrent is your friend. Tutors like Rob Percival (front end), Edwin Diaz (my favourite on PHP) and one other guy like that (Don't remember the name) are excellent tutors and Robs and Edwin Diaz tutorials helped me a lot when i was building my first web app. I managed to get a decent score in 3 months for someone who hasn't written a page of HTML/CSS before.

Also W3Schools is an amazing resource. I kinda like W3CSS more than Bootstrap but i didn't use bootstrap that much. And for website to build, these video tutorials come with projects. You just don't write codes, you build stuffs. Some build twitter clones, Quora Clones, Facebook clones and eCommerce websites so you won't be short of projects.

Also, if you haven't heard or use Stack Overflow before, then you are a learner (Ha! forgive me abeg). I think when i graduate, i will make a tee-shirt that says 'I want to thank Stack Overflow, YouTube, Udemy, W3Schools and then my University for this degree'. Stack Overflow is a community of people who provide help with problems you might have along the way. What is is best for is solving specific problems when you are coding. It has a diverse community so even if you are coding in Lua of Haskell or TypeScript or GoLang, there is always someone to help you. So either you looking to bold a MySQL query result when you display them or just looking for words to float on your webpage or even looking to build SkyNet (The AI that destroys the world ha!). Ask anything and you will be sure to get an answer.

If you've got any other questions, holla back. I am not a guru myself but i will try to help you as much as i can.

I know your aptitude on this. I should say we ought to have an online discourse on this. Composing just remarks will close the talk straight away! What's more, will confine the advantages from this data.  new technologies
