John A. Lee produced a comprehensive
typology of Love. he devised a scale
for identifying a subject's "style of
loving" based on the extent to
which the person associated with
different meaning of love with
particular feeling, thoughts and
action. He distinguished different
meaning commonly used by lovers.

The three primary ones are:

EROS- romantic, sexual love
characterized by love at first sight.
emotional attachment or sexual
attraction or desire.

LUDUS- playful, challenging, non-
possesive kind of love. or a person
who is not content to a one
relationship.

STORGE [stor-gay]- comfortable
affectionate, slow to develop but
intimate kind of love.

The three secondary types of love
are:

MANIA- possesive, jealous, and
stressful love. it also includes wild,
violent. From the root word
"maniac" which means obssesive,
crazy and insatiable.

AGAPE- unselfish, altruistic kind of
love. This is the best and
unconditional kind of love.

PRAGMA- logical and sensible love.
This kind of love means for
practical relationship especially in
economic aspect.

He also added these two
commonly seen combinations:
STORGIC LUDUS and LUDIC EROS.
