I've been offered a position tht wld b a promotion n think tht I am goin to turn it down....this wld b the 2nd time I turn down n offer. Problem is if iaccept it wld mean relocation (650km frm home)though it wld b back to where I come frm n where all my family r. I relocated to where I currently am almst 2 years ago n I love the place. Relocatin means goin back to city life. I currently enjoy wht I do, travel a. lot n earn a good salary.I am also able to work frm home, dnt report to anyone here (boss is based at Head office 650km away)which allows me to b flexible n also work n make decisions independently). Promtion wld bring a 15% increase, move 1 level up n shares in co. Wil increase. On personal level my house back home has been let out n tenants have 1 year left of contract so this wld mean stayin wit family n I love my independence n privacy. I wld also have to let out my house I am currently livin in n give up on a personal business opportunity. I also had health issues when I lived in the city which subsided n has been a lot more manageable since I relocated to the coast.I was. Supposed to respond to offer today but meeting got rescheduled fr tomrrow so wld like to get any opinions fast. Am I shootin myself in the foot in terms of my career?

Well... it depends on 2 things:
1. What's important to you? Your happiness OR your career? and which you are willing to make sacrifices for (sometimes at the expense of the other).
2. The nature of your organization. If it's an understanding one or not (some companies understand and respect their employees' decision to accept/reject a promotion).
